Chapter 2 - Daily quest

Lim glanced at his status screen, his eyes widening in disbelief. He possessed all elemental affinities: fire, earth, water, and air, along with an SSS-level sword skill. Yet, despite this formidable arsenal, all his skills were still at level 1. He pinched himself, hoping it was a dream. It wasn't. The Demon King was on the brink of unleashing destruction upon the world, and if Lim didn't level up soon, the world would be in grave danger.

Suddenly, a notification popped up: "Daily Quest: Kill 5 Goblins and earn a 150 gold reward." Without warning, Lim found himself teleported to a dark, foreboding dungeon.

The dungeon's eerie silence was broken by the guttural growls of goblins. Lim's heart raced as he saw five goblins advancing toward him. Fear gripped him, but he knew he had to face it. Summoning his courage, he pointed his palm at the nearest goblin and shouted, "Wind Cutter!" The spell missed. Four more attempts and he finally hit his mark, taking down one goblin.

Four more to go.

Lim decided to try earth magic next. He checked his status screen and found the spell, "Spear Rock." With a deep breath, he incanted the spell. The first few attempts missed, forcing Lim to dodge the goblins' attacks. Finally, two sharp rocks struck true, taking down two more goblins.

Two left.

These goblins were tougher. Earth magic failed again, and air spells were too weak. Trembling, Lim drew his sword. With a shout, he unleashed his Double Slice technique, cutting down one of the remaining goblins.

One left.

Lim knew he had to give it his all. He channeled all his elemental powers—fire, earth, air, and water—into a final, desperate attack. The last goblin fell. Panting, Lim checked his status. He had leveled up to 4 and gained new skills.

Curious about the gold reward, Lim noticed a store icon on his status screen. He opened it and browsed through the items: swords, potions, food, and more. Starving from his ordeal, he spent a few gold coins on food and ate hungrily.

When he was done, he was transported back to his house. To his shock, time hadn't moved. Although he had spent hours in the dungeon, it was as if no time had passed in the real world. This revelation filled him with a mix of relief and determination. The journey ahead was long, and the battles would only get tougher, but Lim knew he had taken the first step toward becoming strong enough to save the world.
