Chapter 6 - Dancing with Wolves

Lacey

I lean over into my middle split to stretch my hips and hamstrings. While I go through my stretches I grab a chocolate protein bar in my bag and munch on it.

"Hey Lace. Come stretch over here." My friend Becca shouts from across the room. She's one of my only friends at Ms. Tatiana's. I've known her since an audition that we had when we were thirteen.

I get up and wander over to where Becca is and throw her a smile. I sit down and we begin stretching together.

"So give me the drama Lace. I heard from a little birdie that you and Wolf were hanging out together this morning. I thought you hated him." Becca says leaning forward so that she can whisper it to me.

"I have never said I hated him Becca." I protest.

"In the words of Lacey: 'Wolf is so annoying. Why do women like him? I hate his guts. He pisses me off.' Admit it Lace. You did say you hate him." Becca responds smirking at me.

"Ok maybe I said I hate him, but I was overreacting Becca. He does piss me off and he is the most annoying man ever but I don't hate him." I say.

"Are you sick Lace? You never admit you're wrong." Becca says sarcastically as she throws herself at me dramatically and pretends to check my temperature.

"Oh hush drama queen. It's not a big deal." I shrug her off of me and stand up.

"Ok ladies line up so we can warm up and then start on the choreography." Ms. Agnes, our ballet teacher calls out.

I help Becca up and we walk over to the bar. We quickly put in our point shoes and begin warming up our ankles. After the warm up Ms. Agnes teaches us half of the choreo. This art school goes through choreo so we can spend more time working on cleaning it up.

After class I go to lunch. I get a turkey sandwich and some broccoli cheddar soup. I eat it quickly so I can go to the studio and stretch before Wolf gets there. I have been stretching for about fifteen minutes when I hear the door to the studio room open.

"Hey little mouse. I am pleasantly surprised you honored your promise to show up." Wolf says and I turn around to look at him. I hate to admit that he looks good right now. His hair is slightly tousled and his black compression shirt is pressed against his muscles.

"I always keep my promises Wolf." I reply turning back and sliding into my left split.

"You also always show off. I may be flexible for a guy but I am no where near your level. Don't you normally use blocks to make your split more difficult?" Wolf says and I can hear him walking towards me.

"Normally but today should be easy. For me at least. I want to practice a few lifts and throws if you don't mind." I say and look at Wolf.

"That's fine. What style are planning on doing for the duets?"

"Probably jazz or contemporary. Everyone else is going to do ballet and I want to stand out." I answer standing up.

"Do you think your partner will agree with that? I mean I wouldn't mind but you know most of the boys prefer ballet." Wolf cocks an eyebrow.

"I'm one of the best girls here. They'll be lucky to have me." I say laughing.

Wolf smirks and mutters something that sounds like 'yeah they would be lucky '. I roll my eyes at him.

"Aren't you going to warm up?" I ask.

"Well if we're doing lifts I'll warm up with the easy ones." Wolf says crossing his arms over his chest.

"At least stretch a bit then. I don't want you to drop me. If you do I'll kick your ass." I snap.

"Yes Ma'am." Wolf says giving me a mock salute. I roll my eyes but don't respond. Wolf stretches for a bit and then starts pulling out the mats. I walk over to him.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"Yeah I should be. We'll just start with some basic lifts and throws at first so I can warm up better."

I nod as a response and take a step closer so I am within reach of Wolf. He grabs my waist and pulls me a little closer. I can feel my heart speed up and my cheeks heat up slightly but I ignore it so I can focus on what is going on. Wolf lifts me straight up in the air and then places me lightly on the ground.

"How was that? Do you think you'll be able to do more complicated lifts later on?" I ask.

"You're light little mouse. This should be pretty easy. I want to try something though. Turn around. I'm going to lift you up and when I say I want you to lean back and I'm going to drape you over my should. Passé one leg and straighten the other. You can style your arms how you want." Wolf says and spins me so that I'm facing away.

"Ok sounds good." I respond.

I feel Wolf's hands on my hips. He has a firm sturdy grasp on them. He gives me the go and I bend my knees and push off to give some momentum. He lifts me up and then just as he said, he drapes me over his shoulder. I arch my back a little to make the lines of my body prettier and passé my left leg. I reach back with my arms. Wolf has switched his grip so one arm is wrapped around my mud section to keep me steady. He begins to spin slowly as if to showcase me to a crowd. After he slowly slides me down in a controlled manner and I spin to face him.

"That was fun. I have one I want to try. You'll be in a mini side lunge. I'll be in a tilt on your bent lag and you can steady my with your arm." I suggest. Wolf nods in response and gets into position.

I step onto his bent leg and once I'm steady I'm bring my right leg up. Wolf wraps an arm around my waist and I hold onto his shoulder, pulling my leg into a tilt. My foot begins to slip though. Wolf grabs my waist pulling me into him, but my momentum is too much. I send us both falling. Wolf cocoons me so that I land on top of him and he takes the brunt of the impact.

"I'm so sorry. I slipped." I apologize. I sit up now straddling Wolf's hips and stare down at him.

"You can fall on me anytime little mouse." Wolf smirks and rolls us so that I'm underneath him my legs now wrapped around him. He is on his elbows so that none of his weight is on me.

"What are you doing Wolf?" I ask and he leans in.

"Just enjoying the position we're in." He whispers in my ear. He moved back to give me a little space.

"I think we're done for the day. Can you get up?" I ask pushing at his chest.

"Sure little mouse." Wolf says and quickly kisses my cheek before standing up. He offers a hand to help me up and I take it.

"Um thanks for helping. I'll text you so we can meet a again for practice." I say and walk towards my things so I can walk out.

"Where are you going next? I'll walk you." Wolf walks up to me.

"Oh I was going to go back to my dorm to rest before dinner and solo practice." I respond.

"Ok I'll walk you there." Wolf says and we walk out together.
