Gu Feiye glared down at the girl with a condescending look. It's like lifting a stone and smashing it on one's foot.
"The shamelessness of miss Gu is really much" Winter said coolly and faced the crowd again, her demeanor lazy to the highest extreme. The eyes boring into her back is very obvious.
"This words don't sound pleasant"
"Miss Powers must be used to hearing such words from childhood right?"
Winter smiled at the cunning lady and actually felt a hint of pity. After devoting most of her life to a man to escape hers she mistakenly fell in love with him only to find out he will rather kidnap a girl with potential threat to his kingdom than date her.
Well she isn't a saint and can't help at all. The girl also insulted her with her background.
But she is right, people have called her shameless for like stealing all of Joseph love and care and many more. She has long grown immune to it.
"Miss Gu on the other hand seems to particularly like picking on people's soft spot"
"You a shrew and please move away, your mouth odor is so stinky!"
"Miss Powers is too much and have resorted to malicious insults!" Gu Feiye said and turned to look for the royal guards taking people out earlier. Those words are like a death sentence for anyone down there.
She have the authority as a kingdom chief child to lock up any commoner as she deem fit without reason. Winter fit into the slot of the commoner even if she is going to get engaged to the crown prince in a few hours. Gu Feiye naturally wants to use the loophole in the law to get rid of Winter early before evening.
The reality gave her a hard slap when no guard stepped up to arrest Winter. She glared at the guards behind the double doors signalling with her eyes for them to do something.
Those ones ignored her and gave a cautious glance at Winter hoping she didn't see Gu Feiye looking towards them. A shiver run down their spines collectively when they saw Winter return their glance, her eyes cool and calm but containing several storm.
They haven't forgotten the way she dismissed those other people because of their wrong behavior and the screams that echoed from the torture reverberated in the halls for a long time and suddenly stopped.
Those people are surely dead.
"Miss Gu lack of shame and manner seems to be an instinct instilled in her since childhood" Winter sharp gaze swept across the crowd again, her tone like lecturing a group of grown children.
The people looked down guilty, they have only taught their children one thing from young, fear the strong and trample on the weak. This led to a bad mentality forming in the children.
Like the head concubine, she still have an instinctive fear towards those noble concubine due to her humble background, which is breaking her wings a lot.
And those maids and servants in the palace looked down on her because she is deemed weak and useless using the opportunity to venge their pent up frustration since childhood.
Suddenly something like clock stroke ticked in their mind and they slowly looked up.
The minds of those in the crowd gradually changed and like some sort of cobweb is removed from their minds.
They slowly started reasoning and the invisible hand blocking their sight is removed.
"But that is how we are taught to teach our children, like our parents taught us" someone protested weakly.
The voice is quickly drowned in the ugly glares from his fellow people. Those teaching originated from the so called noble borns and it made them stronger while suppressing their powers significantly.
Some of them here are stronger than the noble borns but yet can't rise because of an unknown barrier.
This is the barrier!

The barrier that have been set in stone since they started understanding what their parents are saying. It have always been seen as disrespect to the noble if a commoner take such person down and the noble will be looked down on by his fellow noble blood. The fear of the consequences on the commoner made them restrict their learning and ability just so they can't surpass the noble.
Realization sets in.
Their looks hardened with a hint of bloodshot in their eyes and they gazes at Winter changed with a hint of admiration and fear. For years no one have ever gotten how they feel, they don't even know how they are supposed to feel and those people dominated them, with them not wiser.
This girl is the one to help them move forward. This girl is their savior. She is a naturally born queen and have their best interest in heart.
The hearts of the maids and servants listening felt their hearts moved and their gazes more favorable. The person that promised them the benefit to harm miss Powers doesn't have their best interest at heart and is like those blood sucking leaches!
They silently signalled themselves together and gathered.
'pathetic'
Winter looked down at the people with a sneer. This people are not worth her attention. All what she has heard from the group made her wary against them but now she felt it's all worthless. This people easily follow the crowd and are not foolish.
"So I should admit it as the main foundation of this kingdom" Winter sneered. She has acquired what she needed from them and doesn't need to butter them anymore.
"Miss Powers can not casually walk in our kingdom and question our values" Gu Feiye gritted her teeth. The crowd changes are obvious and they are not the effect she hoped to see.
"Not only is miss Gu shameless she is also blind and mentally challenged" Winter spat sarcastically.
Gu Feiye face turned red, everyone knew how Winter entered the kingdom and the role she is directly thrown into. Her words made her feel ashamed especially with the looks of the crowd on her.
"Miss Powers should give herself a way out" Gu Feiye turned to glare at Winter.
"A way out?" Winter sneered.
Little maid brought a seat and Winter dropped on it elegantly her eyes looking up at Feiye with coolness pure of any anger and disgust contradictory to Gu Feiye's.
"My father can easily make you disappear" Gu Feiye leaned down and said with only a volume the two can hear.
She has torn her face with Winter and doesn't need to entertain her again. This threat has always worked and no girls dared to approach the crown prince because of her. There has been several girls worthy of the crown princess position but all have been chased away by her and no one has ever made her feel so insecure about like Winter. This girl is someone capable of leading alongside the crown prince sometimes she can see Winter is better than her.
She remembered the humiliation in yesterday breakfast, her mind quickly hardened, she swore she will return it all in multiple folds.
"You still have a chance to back down now"
"Escort miss Gu out guards" Winter turned back to the crowd.
Gu Feiye face turned red and black and held up her hand to stop the guards saving herself the last bit of grace she has left.
The guards stopped hesitantly and walked forward still afraid of Winter more than Gu Feiye.
"I will see myself out" Gu Feiye turned back elegantly.
"And make sure miss Gu is taken to the nearest psychiatrist"
Gu Feiye almost tripped and turned her hateful glare at Winter.
"You can be happy for now" she said through gritted teeth and walked out. Her plans for later made her relieved.
'Just you wait!'
Winter lifted up her lips in a cold smile and watched the figure walked out.
"We still haven't given you permission to marry out crown prince"
Someone odd voice sounded stark among the murmurs of support.
A few raised it up their reasons each convincing and good.
Winter watched with cold eyes lingering on those people.
'i knew it wouldn't be too easy'
It will be bad if she doesn't encounter some kind of challenge, at least there will still be a few idiots in the crowd.
"I don't need your permission!"
The faces of those people twisted and they pointed maliciously.
"You know you are not worthy of our crown prince yet insisted on clinging into him"
"I don't need you to prove me worthy"
"A bunch of mannerless people trying to desperately clutch on the last lifesaving straw" Winter stood up abruptly.
"Reflect on yourself" She said arrogantly portraying the various characteristics of a queen.
The crowd beamed with smiles and the look in their eyes changed. They signalled each other with their eyes and slowly lowered.
"Our crown princess"
They fell to their knees and bowed completely their voices loud echoing in various halls in the palace. The remaining servants in the palace also fell and bowed shouting her name booming out.
Winter walked back to the double door and slowly threw out a sentence to little maid.
"A queen commands respect"
Little maid smiled now and glanced at the bowing crowd now understanding what the miss meant by everything.
'the miss is so cool'
This only fueled more to her resolve to only follow the miss from then. The miss had better get prepared.
