Stel took a step back.
As he moved away from the door, countless zombies in the hallway opened their bloodthirsty mouths.
They lunged at Bobby.
Bobby, lying weakly on the ground, had no strength left to resist.
His arm was still outstretched from opening the door.
The zombies surrounded him instantly.
They bared their gruesome teeth and pounced on him like ravenous beasts.
"Hiss!"
"Hiss!"
Bobby felt his flesh being torn off in large chunks.
His body became riddled with holes.
Under his fat, white tissue and thick blood mixed together,
Releasing an incredibly foul stench.
Stel stood at the door, watching Bobby being devoured without emotion.
A contemptuous smile played at his lips.
How laughable, truly laughable!
Stel wanted to witness Bobby's transformation into a zombie from start to finish!
"You! You...!"
The flesh on Bobby's back had been completely gnawed off by the zombies.
Exposing his bloody white bones.
For Bobby, he could no longer feel any pain.
He lifted his head slightly, staring at Stel with intense hatred.
His anger burned like wildfire.
Suddenly, Bobby felt as if he could speak again.
He strained his voice, speaking hoarsely to Stel.
"Why don't the zombies attack you? What did you do!"
"Sigh, seeing you so pathetically clueless, I'll explain."
With that, Stel walked over to a nearby zombie.
He raised his hand high and slapped the zombie on the head.
"Smack!"
The zombie, busy eating Bobby, was slapped aside.
It quickly got back up and resumed feeding on Bobby.
It didn't attack Stel!
Bobby gasped, but his lungs had been torn apart by the zombies.
The air he inhaled flowed right out.
"You, you...!"
"Still don't get it? I'm different from you. Zombies don't attack me because of my unique condition."
"Why do you think I could go to the basement and shut off your water valve without getting hurt?"
"It's because I have this special condition."
"And that night, when you thought throwing a bottle to attract zombies would kill me,"
"Even if all the zombies came over, they wouldn't attack me."
"But your despicable behavior sped up your death, understand?"
Stel's smile was full of contempt.
Then he lifted his leg and kicked away the zombie about to bite Bobby's face.
Instead, he placed his foot on Bobby's face.
"Mmm..."
Stel twisted his foot slightly.
Bobby's face contorted in pain.
"There's no need for you to talk anymore. I've wasted several days dealing with you."
"Your death is worth it."
"Weren't you begging me to save you? Don't worry, once you become a zombie, you won't feel hunger."
"In other words, you're now immortal!"
Stel chuckled, withdrew his foot, and turned to leave the room.
"Click!"
As the apartment door closed, the room was left with only a swarm of zombies and a bitten Bobby.
Within half a minute, Bobby's eyes completely changed color.
The other zombies seemed to sense something off.
They all moved away from Bobby.
Some zombies even spat out the pieces of flesh they had just eaten.
"Hisssss—!"
As a newly turned zombie, Bobby's expression was identical to the others.
But he looked far more mutilated than the other zombies.
Most of the flesh on his body had been eaten away,
Exposing large areas of white bone.
After killing Bobby, Stel returned to his apartment.
This time, Elsie seemed to be in sync.
Hearing the urgent knocking, she immediately knew it was Stel returning.
She quickly ran to the door to open it.
"Master, you worked hard. Did you deal with that disgusting man?"
After Stel entered, he closed the door behind him.
Ignoring Elsie, he walked straight to the water dispenser.
He took a large gulp of water.
Wiping his mouth casually with his sleeve,
He finally responded.
"He's dead, but it was the zombies that killed him."
"A scumbag like him isn't worth my effort."
Since the zombie outbreak, Stel had killed countless zombies.
But the only human he had killed was Tyler.
Unless someone made Stel truly furious, he didn't bother being a murderer.
Killing humans was different from killing zombies.
Humans were fragile, killing them wasn't satisfying.
"As expected of you, Master. Dealing with such trash is a piece of cake."
Elsie praised Stel appropriately.
But this moderate flattery left Stel uninterested.
"Yeah..."
He changed his clothes.
While killing Bobby, his clothes got splattered with zombie blood.
A foul stench clung to the fabric.
After changing, Stel went to the balcony and sat down.
He looked down at the zombies below.
The sky was filled with dark clouds.
In the distance, a curtain of rain approached.
Getting closer and closer.
The rain fell, washing away the blood and mud on the zombies.
The dirty water flowed into the sewer.
The rain grew heavier, and the sky was still streaked with a setting sun,
Bathing the entire city in a blood-red hue.
From distant buildings came the occasional human wail,
And the drum-like footsteps of zombies.
For some reason, Stel enjoyed this scene.
He sat quietly in his chair.
Elsie knelt beside him, holding the armrest with one hand.
She was wearing very little.
However, Stel had no interest in the scene.
A toy played with too much can become tiresome.
He sat there, like the king of the city.
Shhh...!
After the rain washed everything,
The city's decay became more evident.
Fragmented and broken.
The entire city reeked of despair.
Zombies were almost everywhere.
"Ahhh!!!"
A scream echoed from the rooftop of a nearby apartment building.
A mother, clutching her child,
Was cornered against the outer railing.
Behind her was a horde of vicious zombies.
The zombies, staring at the woman, began to inch closer.
The woman knew there was no hope left.
She raised her hand and threw her child off the high building.
Then, she jumped after him.
...
"Thud!"
With a clear sound, two masses of flesh hit the ground.
Such scenes were common in the apocalypse; Stel had become numb to them.
