Outside, the pitch-black night was bleak, preventing animals from coming out. Eros appeared tense to watch that, leaped at a windmill to see clear picture.
"Ohhh sh*t!" He commented.
Reddish and bluish fluorescent zombies were approaching the gas station. They were over a hundred and looked hideous and disgusting.
Eros was about to dash, but Mr. Yang's raspy voice stopped him.
"What did you see there?"
He answered it in a flat tone. "Zombies are coming here. There are no less than 10. " He lied about numbers, so Mr. Yang won't worry much. "Indigo level zombie."
Red death blessed chaos on earth; those zombies were just a fraction of it. Many animals were modified by radiation and turned into hideous creatures. Many names had been given to those unnatural monsters.
They were graded based on their lethal: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The bottom was not as ferocious compared to the top.
Instead of asking how Eros climbed, he concentrated on the bigger problem.
" Fuvk! Those vile moths always come when power outages occur. " Mr. Yang's infuriated. Last time, the zombies ate his front shop, and he had to call a monster hunter to eradicate them.
Eros descended on the ground, and continued, :"The distance between us and them is not much. Let me handle it, and you guys stay inside."
"No! I have been handling this for a decade, so no one knows their secret better than me."
"Fine! What excuse should we give to our ladies? " He asked and narrowed his eyes.
Both of them were walking here with tears in their eyes.
There was a hidden rule that needed to be followed. That is, women are always right and men are wrong.
If a girl makes a mistake, then her partner should say sorry. If he was wrong, he should apologise first. Time passed, but the rule didn't change yet.
A happy wife, a happy life. Therefore, they had to convince them to stay out of trouble.
"Darling, what happened? " Mrs. Yang asked in anxiety. She was wearing a facial mask to maintain her beauty.
He blinked his eyes for a moment before realising it was his wife. "My darling. Don't scare me. "
Mrs.Yang contempt his husband and offered a forceful smile. " This is not time for cracking jokes. Why are you so tensed? "
Mona! Mona, zombies are coming over here. I want you to be in a safe room with the young lady."
"No! no. I can't let you fight again. The last time you were badly hurt by it, let me call a hunter. " Mrs. Yang was petrified to recall ugly past.
Meanwhile, the counterfeit couple were in an awkward situation. Both of them were stubborn and not willing to cooperate with each other.
"No! Whatever you are going to say, I refuse." She read Eros intention and did not want to participate in his plan. V fifty six herself a hunter so she had expertise to fight those monsters. Whatever it was, she wanted to battle.
Eros held her shoulder and walked away from the real couple.
He rubbed his temple and affirmed. "I know you are tough. In the current situation, it will be safe for you to stay. Just listen to your master at once. "
In the dim light, Eros couldn't see her expression, yet he could feel the girl's contempt.
"No! What danger level are they at?"
"Indigo! "
Indigo monsters were not that lethal, so they could be killed by a gun.
"It will be fun to hunt them." She put on an evil grin, as if she were ready to butcher innocent chickens.
He rolled his eyes in disapproval. " V-fifty-six, you are not going there. End of discussion! Moreover, your body is too weak to combat. "
Veronica pouted her cheeks in protest.
He tapped an application on his wrist watch, then tapped an image. Afterwards, a bar of dark chocolate appeared over his head. He grabbed it and moved back and forth.
She pronounced the brand name with sparkling eyes, "Ultra Magnum Chocolate!" It wasn't just any brand but a luxurious chocolate that cost a fortune.
"Is this for me?" she asked curiously.
"Yes! So be a good girl," he replied.
Despite her suspicions, the allure of the chocolate was irresistible; she wanted to taste it.
"I will stay," she whispered quietly.
Eros's lips widened in joy as he handed over the chocolate. She grabbed it tightly, holding it against her chest like a treasure. In the Novuche Era, chocolate was a rare item, and its production reduced by 80%.
He gently patted her head; she had the curiosity and gluttony of a cat.
If V-Fifty-Six hadn't agreed, he would have had to use electric shocks to make her comply. In her current state, it was dangerous for her body. Eros couldn't deny her power, even though she wasn't physically strong enough to fight hordes.
"Don't smile, or you'll bring chaos to the world," she grumbled, feeling tricked by him.
On the other side of the darkened night, hordes of zombies marched toward the gas station. Their skeletal frames glittered like disco balls, devoid of flesh. The temperature dropped, and the wetter
sand made them move faster than usual.
"Krrrrrrr." The horrifying cacophony drove other animals underground. Though they didn't seem dangerous, their ability to devour anything was horrific. A red zombie squatted near a plant, uprooted it, and chewed on it.
Suddenly, a magic diagram shimmered in the darkness, restricting their movement within a 15-metre radius.
"My foolish companions! Your time ends here!" Eros shouted, galvanised to fight the zombies. He hadn't hunted zombies in years; now was his time to shine.
"Mr. Yang, stay in the car," he advised, removing his coat and gloves. He dashed towards two zombies outside his rune, swiftly dispatching the first with a jab that nearly severed its head.
"Krrrrr." The second zombie bit his arm but found itself corroding instead.
Either his overpowering curse neutralised the zombie venom, or his clothes were somehow toxic. The former seemed more plausible.
"Your venom doesn't affect me," he sneered, punching another zombie backward with raw power. Eros's fighting style lacked elegance but maxed with aggression, like a wrestler in an arena, ensuring no escape for his opponents.
He wouldn't stop until every zombie was eradicated. His bloodlust grew with each strike.
Within minutes, he had decimated half the zombies.
"You bastards are no fun," he lamented, disappointedly wiping green blood that reeked of rotten eggs from his clothes.
One zombie showed indifference, continuing to munch on sand. Eros grabbed it, tossed it to the ground, and moved on.
"You're quite the hunter," Mr. Yang commented as he came out from the car.
Eros glanced at the half-dead zombie. "No! I retired long ago. I used to hunt monsters for a living, but not anymore." Sadness tinged his eyes as he recalled the thrill of combat, especially against high-grade beasts.
Yang's pupil enlarged to receive this piece of information. "Interesting. Some might say you are an untamed beast when it comes to fighting. But—"
Eros's solemn face exuded a belligerent aura. "Whatever you think is not true. "
Mr. Yang lowered his chin. "Say it loudly. The sand is on my ears. " The old man knew how to act very well.
Ignoring Mr. Yang's antics, Eros charged at the zombies, treating them like broken dolls. Limbs severed, bodies mangled, he threw half-dead zombies into runes.
The zombie's body started corroding in no time, melting his skin and bones. Eros blood was equivalent to hydrochloric acid, but a little milder. It was a miracle that he survived this curse.
Mr. Yang's face darkened, terror etched on his features. "Who are you?" he inquired, pointing his gun at Eros's head.
