Professor Yin suddenly remembered that the old lady and the old gentleman's granddaughter had been missing for several years.
It was reasonable, then, that she had only recently started to gain weight.
She remained calm and looked gently at the little girl's face, "Grace looks a lot like her mother when she was little."
As soon as Grace Foster heard this, she asked curiously, "Doctor Grandma, did you also treat my mom?"
"Not really treatment, just a regular body check for your mom." Professor Yin smiled, "When your mom was your age, she was even chubbier than you, so you need to keep drinking five bottles of milk every day from now on."
Professor Yin had been working in pediatrics for almost fifty years and was an excellent doctor. She had watched almost all of the children in the Ye family grow up, including the little girl in front of her. When Grace was a few months old, Professor Yin had also given her a simple physical examination.
Grace Foster's eyes shone brightly as she nodded vigorously, "Yes, I will!"
Professor Yin asked gently, "Grace, do you have any food you don't like? I don't like carrots or vegetables."
Grace Foster thought seriously for a moment and then said solemnly, "Doctor Grandma, you can't be picky. I like to eat everything."
Seeing her bright and clear eyes, Professor Yin could tell she wasn't picky and laughed, "Good, then Grandma won't be picky anymore. I'll eat carrots and more vegetables."
Grace Foster nodded her approval, "Yes, that's a good grandma!"
During their conversation, Professor Yin got a general idea of Grace's daily routine and turned to Mr. Blake, "Grace's family takes very good care of her."
Mr. Blake didn't respond well, thinking that if Grace had been taken care of properly, she wouldn't have gone out by herself. In his opinion, it was because Grace was a very sensible and well-behaved child.
Seeing Mr. Blake's displeasure, Professor Yin understood and didn't mention Grace's family again.
Mrs. Blake came out of the bathroom, her emotions stabilized. She sat down next to Grace and pretended nothing had happened.
Grace Foster put her little hand on her belly and rubbed it gently, "Grandma, does your stomach still hurt?"
Mrs. Blake shook her head and held Grace's little hand, "It doesn't hurt anymore, much better."
Grace sighed with relief.
Professor Yin used her stethoscope to check Grace once more, and then smiled, "Grace is a very healthy baby."
With Professor Yin's reassurance, Mr. and Mrs. Blake were completely relieved.
Grace Foster was happy and proud, "I'm a healthy baby!"
Professor Yin didn't stay long. After finishing her checkup, she left.
After eating and drinking, Mrs. Blake, Mr. Blake, and Grace Foster went into the room. Mr. Blake brought in three chairs, one for each of them.
Soon, it was time for the doctors and nurses to come for their routine checks. Two doctors and four nurses arrived. Mrs. Blake held Grace while Mr. Blake stepped back to give them room.
Grace Foster watched the process seriously, especially when the nurse removed the needle from her mother's hand and inserted a new one. She tightly clenched her grandmother's arm with both hands but didn't say anything.
Mrs. Blake noticed and asked quietly, "Grace, are you scared?"
Grace shook her head and said softly after a while, "Mommy must be in a lot of pain..."
Mrs. Blake listened and felt a pang in her heart, "Yes, it must be very painful."
After the checkup, the medical staff bowed to Mr. and Mrs. Blake and left quietly.
The atmosphere in the room became more somber after this incident. Mrs. Blake continued to hold Grace and sat on a chair by the bed. Grace Foster held her mother's other hand tightly, staring at her without saying anything.
Johannes approached the room's door carefully and spoke quietly, "Old Mr...."
Mr. Blake had already instructed that group matters be handled by his son, so Johannes must have news about Grace. Mr. Blake signaled him to talk outside.
He then stood up, "You sit, call me if you need anything."
Mrs. Blake nodded, "Go ahead and take care of things."
Mr. Blake looked at his daughter lying on the hospital bed and then at Grace before leaving the room.
Outside the room, Mr. Blake walked a little further away to avoid being overheard. "Speak up, but keep your voice down."
Johannes wasn't sure about the details but found it strange that they still needed to keep their voices down in the hallway. However, he complied with Mr. Blake's instructions and lowered his voice, "Old Mr., Mr. Qin said that Miss Grace needs to take a nap and wants to bring her home. He also mentioned that Miss Grace's pet, Snowy, has special food and needs to return to the villa to eat. If Snowy gets sick, Miss Grace will be sad."
Mr. Blake snorted, "Does he think we don't have a place for Grace to nap here? Tell him to take Snowy back to the villa to eat. When Grace wants to go back to the villa, we'll send her back ourselves."
Johannes had expected this answer but continued, "Mr. Qin also said that Miss Grace's pet Snowy needs to be taken back to the villa to eat its special food. If Snowy gets sick, Miss Grace will be sad."
Mr. Blake was not impressed by Mr. Qin's concern, "You can take Snowy back to the villa to eat. When Grace wants to go back, we'll send her back ourselves."
Johannes could imagine Mr. Qin's reaction when he saw Snowy without Grace. "Old Mr., is there anything else?"
"No, that's all."
Mr. Blake re-entered the room and saw Snowy sitting on the sofa like a human. He considered saying something to Snowy but decided against it, feeling it was childish to talk to a goose.
Snowy seemed to sense something and turned to look at him, "Honk! I heard your conversation, and I won't leave Grace! I'll only go back to the villa when Grace does!"
In Mr. Blake's ears, all he heard was honking. He wondered what Snowy was trying to say; it seemed kind of agitated.
