Chereads / My sweet Angel / Chapter 16 - His Disdain

Chapter 16 - His Disdain

Angel looked out the window of her room at the sparkling stars in the sky. which seemed like diamonds that shine throughout the endless night.

She was lost in thought thinking about many things but the focus of her thoughts was her father and she lowered her head for a moment to look at the necklace around her neck. It was the necklace that her father had given her that day.

She felt very bored and didn't feel any desire to sleep. especially since the place was strange to her and she wasn't accustomed to sleeping except in her room.

She took a quick look at her watch, which was indicating two in the morning and she sighed and said as she looked at the sky : "What a long night When will the sun rise?"

She moved her wheelchair to where her bag was and looked at the collection of books and novels that she had brought here with her but she didn't feel any desire to read so she found herself moving her wheelchair again to the door and then moving its handle and pushing it quietly, going out into the hall where It was like a static picture. where nothing moved and no sound could be heard except the sound of her breathing and she looked around the hall before moving her wheelchair, feeling fear, fear of loneliness, fear of the dark, fear of, Everything, and she found her fists clenching on her wheelchair. She tried to calm herself down and she said to herself that there was nothing to be afraid of as silence prevailed throughout the place and...

Suddenly she heard a sound, the sound of some movement. she jerked violently and a shiver of fear ran through her body as she cowered in her place, unable to move and without trying to raise her eyes she heard the main door of the house opening her fear increased as she froze. That the person might be a thief.

She tried to go back to where she came from, but her hands didn't obey her in moving her wheelchair. She raised her eyes in fear as she salivated and saw that black shadow entering a house very quietly.

As he was walking to the stairs, he suddenly turned around. To where Angel is sitting! and with that Angel's heart began to beat strongly and fearfully, and she felt her fingers trembling but suddenly she heard the voice of that shadow saying: "Who is there?"

She trembled again but she remembered that she had heard this voice before and that she remembered it She raised her head to the person standing at the stairs and said while salivating nervously: "I... are, are you really Liam?"

Liam sighed and said: "I thought there was a thief in the house."

He smiled sarcastically while talking to himself: (Even though your situation is not much different)

Angel said while trying to control her nerves: "I thought the same thing when I saw you entering the house."

He asked, furrowing his eyebrows: "What keeps you awake at this late hour?"

Angel exhaled sharply and said: "insomnia. what about you, where have you been until this late hour? Your father was asking a lot about you."

Liam turned away from her and said with his usual indifference: "Mind your own business and don't interfere in other people's lives."

Angel flinched from his cold tune, she looked at him for a moment before she said, bowing her head sadly and turning her wheelchair: "You're right, I shouldn't have interfered in other people's business."

She said that and went to her room. She closed the door behind her forcefully. She said bitterly, feeling a lump in her throat: "What did I do to him for him to treat me like this? What did I do?"

She found herself heading towards the bed, feeling tears welling up in her eyes and raising her body from the seat with pain and bitterness She bit her lips as she found herself failing to raise her body, so she said nervously: "Why? Why? damn, damn."

She finally succeeded and her body rose to sit on the bed so she gave her body the opportunity to rest. She sighed sadly before throwing her head on the pillow. Despite her sadness, she found herself falling asleep. a deep, dreamless sleep.

But let me tell you Angel, it's just the beginning and what you sees today is the simplest thing you might face in her life, which is full of hardship.
