Chereads / My sweet Angel / Chapter 12 - Opening Up

Chapter 12 - Opening Up

Mark was surprised by her sudden burst of anger, so he didn't say anything, He was thinking about what's in her best interests. But with Angel's introverted nature, who only interacted with her father, who showered her with his care and love, makes her not accept those around her, especially if that person mentioned anything about her need for help.

As Mark watched her turn around in her seat to leave the place, He quickly stood in front of her and said: "What's wrong? Did what I said make you angry?"

he kind of get where she's coming from, no one wants to be treated as a liability.

She turned her face away from him and he said with a smile: "I'm sorry, okay. I hope you'll accept my apology. I know that you're not a child and can manage your affairs on your own. it's just I want you to be comfortable that's all ."

Angel turned to him at that moment and his smile widened as he added: "Now shall we go ?"

Angel raised her head to him and for the first time he saw her smiling while nodding calmly.

He smiled back at her and moved away from her, heading towards the main door of the house. Olivia turned to Angel and said as she turned to her: "Can I help you?"

Angel said in a tone that expressed some joy a tune Olivia wasn't accustomed to: "If you want."

Olivia grabbed the seat and started pushing it slowly. Angel said in surprise: "Why are you pushing it like that?"

Olivia said anxiously: "I'm afraid that I'll hurt you ."

"Don't worry about it, hurry up."

Olivia said: "Are you sure."

Angel nodded

Olivia said happily: "okay, hold on tight."

She walked quickly to get to the car and stopped in front of the back door to say: "Mark, come and help us."

Angel quickly said: "No need, I'm already used to it, just open the door and so i can sit in the back seat by myself."

Mark had already came to them after hearing Olivia's shout when he saw Angel as she was trying with all her might and strength to lift herself from the wheelchair and sit on the back seat of the car.

He wondered, Why did she do all this and put herself through all this trouble? I could have helped her without having her exhaust herself like this.

He hadn't realized that Angel liked to do everything on her own. She wanted to prove to everyone that she was not helpless at all and that she could do a lot of things even if her legs were not moving. Her insistence that she didn't need anyone's help is what motivates her to make every effort to do everything on her own.

Mark moved to the wheelchair that Angel had left so he could fold it and put it in the trunk of the car and went back to the driver's seat to wait for Olivia to get in and drive to the club.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Liam looked strangely at Mark, who approached him and said: "Why are you looking at me like that?."

Liam said: "It is not your habit to come to the club at a time like this."

Mark pointed to what was behind him and then said: Olivia and I saw that Angel was completely isolating herself from everyone, so we decided to take her out and bring her here to entertain herself.

Liam shrugged his shoulders and said as he turned his back and headed to the equestrian section: "I have nothing to do with what happens to that cousin of yours."

Mark exhaled sharply and then followed him in turn to that section.

On the other hand, Olivia sat with Angel around one of the tables in the clubs cafeteria and the latter was busy reading the book in her hands so Olivia asked her, saying: "What are you reading?"

Angel said as she stopped reading and placed the book on the table: "A book about life and its various problems."

Olivia asked: "Are there solutions to these problems in the book? "

Angel said calmly: "Sort of ."

Olivia smiled and said: "My only problem in this life is Mark. Is there a solution for it in this book of yours?"

Angel laughed and said, "I don't think there's a solution for that ."

Olivia looked at her and said: "It's the first time I see you smiling. If I knew that mentioning Mark would make you smile, I would always repeat his name."

When she saw her get quite and not saying anything, she asked her, "And you, what kind of problems do you have?"

Angel answered her with one word: "loneliness."

Olivia replied, surprised: "Loneliness?"

Angel turned to her and said sadly: "The most difficult feeling that a person, or a girl in particular, can experience is to feel that she is alone in this world, without brothers or friends or even someone her age, it's a feeling that suffocates you, kills you and all your fears multiply as You feel alone."

Olivia asked, "What about your mother?"

Angel placed her palm on her cheek and said while feeling a lump in her throat: "Where is my mother? I haven't even seen her since forever. I no longer have the right to do so after I lost her. I don't even remember her appearance or voice. The only thing I have now is the right to see her in the pictures."

Olivia said apologetically: "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

Angel sighed without commenting on her statement. Silence fell on them for several minutes before Angel said with some hesitation: "What about your mother? I haven't seen her since I came here."

A pale smile appeared on Olivia's lips and she said: "My mom? I don't think you will see her at home. She can no longer come there anymore."

Angel looked at her with astonishment and confusion as she explained : "My mom separated from my dad when I was fifteen years old. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I followed her asking her to take me with her, I begged her with tearful eyes not to leave us. But she said that living with my dad was better for me and my siblings. That is why she left us all and left the house without another word.

Angel wondered with interest: "Do you still see her?"

Olivia nodded her head and said, moving her fingers on the table without care: "Yes, we go to visit her from time to time, but she never comes to visit us at home, because my dad is there, is what she says."
