"What are you—" My question was cut off by a sudden, violent rumble beneath us. The bridge creaked and groaned, its supports shifting and breaking apart. I barely had time to process what was happening before the entire structure began to tilt and collapse.
I'm about jump away , Alas Jump at me and hold me.
"Dammit!" I cursed inwardly as the bridge twisted violently.
In a blinding rush, I felt myself falling, the bridge crumbling and plunging into the icy water below. The sensation of freefall was terrifying, and I could barely see through the darkness as we tumbled through the air. My heart pounded, adrenaline surging through me as I tried to brace for impact.
With a splash, the cold water engulfed me. I surfaced quickly, gasping for air and spitting out the mouthful of water I had swallowed. Around me, the debris from the bridge floated, and the water churned with the remnants of the collapsed structure.
