Just as King was about to continue, a man ran up to the front, holding a small radio.
He was excited and out of breath. "Wait! You need to hear this!" he shouted, waving the radio. The crowd murmured, curious about what he had to say.
The man turned on the radio, and a voice came through the static: "To all survivors, this is a rescue operation. Military forces are setting up safe zones and are working to rescue everyone. If you can hear this message, help is on the way. Gather at designated locations for pickup. Stay strong, we will get through this together."
As the voice on the radio finished speaking, there was a moment of silence. Then, everyone started talking at once, excitement bubbling over.
A woman holding her young daughter hugged her tightly. "We're finally going to be saved! They found us!" she cried, tears of joy streaming down her face. She kissed her daughter's forehead, whispering, "We're going to be okay."
