"Stop," Dexter said coldly. "Since I'm feeling generous, how about we make a deal?" They all looked up at Dexter, who signaled the men to stop. The chains lengthened again, allowing them to rush to Thame's side. Roseanne immediately embraced the unconscious Thame, tears streaming down her face. Though nothing was done to her, the trauma of the situation left a deep scar.
"What kind of deal?" Azriel asked, his voice firm but his eyes betraying his fear. He gritted his teeth, ready to do whatever it took to protect his friends.
Alas and Dexter pretended to ponder the question, then burst into cruel laughter. Dexter looked at Pwat and grinned wickedly.
"N-no, don't, Dexter. I'm begging you. I'll do anything you want, please," Pwat pleaded, crawling on his knees to hug Dexter's leg, tears streaming down his face.
"Give me Roseanne," Dexter said with a smirk, ignoring Pwat's desperate pleas.
