"Today is my marriage day… Even though I opposed this marriage, my family forced me to do it. That's why I ran away from the marriage hall." The lady replied in a dispirited tone.
"Hmmhh… I already guessed it. Lady, you should have gone to the police or convinced your parents to stop this marriage. Do you know how much shame you brought to the young man who sat in the marriage hall?" Das spoke modestly while focusing on the road.
"You don't know about my family. Mine is a Joint family containing 10 small families. My grandfather has full authority over all families. As I'm working as a CEO in my family's construction company, my grandfather set up my marriage with a rival company heir.
They didn't ask for my consent. My mother forced me to marry by threatening with a suicide. But in the last minute, my sister helped me to get away as she promised to take care of my mother's safety." The lady explained with a sad face.
Das didn't reply after hearing her story. He opened the storage box and passed a water bottle to her.
"Sorry madam, I really didn't expect that there would be this much drama. I am really sorry." Das apologized while the lady is drinking water.
"Hey… why are you saying sorry all of a sudden? Didn't you call me a thief?" The lady questioned with a long stare.
"Please forget what I spoke madam, I'm an illiterate idiot. I thought you were a spoiled girl who is eloping. Please don't mind my past behaviour." Das replied in a heartfelt tone.
"Hahaha… don't worry. I won't keep grudges." The lady replied with a serene smile.
"By the way, madam, what is your name?"
"Lily… tell me your name."
"Das, madam."
"Nice name… do you drive taxi all the time?" Lily questioned back.
"No madam, I only have permission to drive during office hours. Didn't you see my label?" Das said while showing his arm towards her.
"Oh… sorry. I didn't notice it. So, you are a bad guy turned into a good guy. By any chance did you complete your studies? I can give you a job in my company… I mean my family company." Lily replied, observing his tattoo.
"No madam, I'm an illiterate. Apart from taxi driving, I know a few things about antiques and other small works. Other than that, I'm just useless." Das spoke with a smile.
"Don't talk like that. I saw how those thugs ran away like rats with your one warning. You should at least try as a head security. You can easily earn more than 10000 bucks every month." Lily suggested encouragingly.
"Forget it, Madam. I don't like working for others. I have my own taxi. This is enough for me to feed myself and my uncle." Das replied while staring at the rear-view mirror. He saw a black Range Rover following his car from a long time.
"Hey, stop calling me madam. You can call me Lily." The lady said while folding her legs on the car seat.
"By the way, Madam, I forgot to ask you, where do want to go?" Das questioned, thinking about the black car following them.
"I said stop calling me madam. Also, till night I can't go home. So, first, take me to a restaurant. I'm super hungry." Lily replied while observing Das who is watching the road without even looking at her.
Das immediately increased the car speed. "Madam, you should first said this. Thankfully, I know a good restaurant here." Das replied with a smile as he drove the car on top speed. But his thoughts are filled with the black car, that is still following them. Lily opened her mobile and continue to check the places around her.
After ten minutes, Das stopped the car before an open restaurant which is filled mostly with men. Das got out of the car and asked Lily to come out. But she hesitated as there were only men inside the restaurant.
"Don't worry… I know the manager. He will arrange a separate room for you. Also, this is the only restaurant in this area." Das said assuringly as he stared at her with a smile.
Because of hunger and his assurance, she got out of the car and followed him. Just as Das stepped inside the room, everyone stood up without a second thought. This is an affiliate area of the 'A' grade criminal zone. So, everyone one in this place know about Das.
Lily's eyes went wide in surprise as she stood in the same place while wondering why everyone stood up for Das.
Das gestured for everyone to sit down and opened the door to another room where a single table was placed in the center of the room. Das called her in as he went inside the room.
As Lily sat down, the cook personally came and arranged everything on the table.
After taking care of everything, Das tried to move out and eat with other men outside. But Lily did not let him go outside. "I won't eat anything, if you go out. Sit with me." Lily declared as she placed food on his plate.
With a sigh, Das finished his meal faster than her and came out of the restaurant before Lily.
"Madam, did you like the food?" The cook asked while pouring water for her.
"Yeah… everything is super good. By the way, why everyone stood after seeing Das?" Lily questioned him with a curious look.
"Hahaha… he is the head of the 'A' zone, miss. More than 10000 families inside the 'A' zone will only listen to Das. Because of him, the government agreed to provide several facilities to the criminal zones and also allowed 'A' zone criminals to work outside in the real world.
But the real answer to your question is, 'because of Das, the crime died down in this area. Previously the criminals often escaped from the zone and caused public massacres. But Das put a full stop to everything." The cook explained with a proud face and left with hearty laughter.
Even though Lily is still eating, her mind buzzed after hearing about Das. She never expected the humble taxi driver who behaved so modestly has such a background. While several thoughts were stirring inside her head, she washed her hands and went to the manager to pay the bill.
"No… no, madam. How could I collect money from you? Das already said, not to take any money." The manager replied with a modest smile as he retreated his hands. Lily sighed and walked outside in silence.
Das who came outside a long time ago, continued to stare at the black Range Rover.
'No doubt, these guys were definitely following my car.' Das muttered to himself as he opened the car door for Lily.
Lily sat inside without speaking anything. Instead of getting on the driver seat, Das suddenly stopped in his tracks and moved towards the black Range Rover which stood in a distance from his old ambassador car.
