Chereads / Stuck in The Marriage Pact / Chapter 2 - awkward newlyweds

Chapter 2 - awkward newlyweds

A bland kiss, yet it made her heart race, even tremble, but she wouldn't fall because the man couldn't help her, as he needed a cane to support himself.

"Enough," Hunter whispered with a thin smile after ending the kiss, his eyes focused on Isabella's green eyes, and of course, her smooth and captivating face with naturally sexy lips and a perfectly pointed nose. "I know you're uncomfortable with this," he continued, then moved his head away from the girl he had just married.

Isabella swallowed, stunned and nervous, then slowly nodded and looked back at the priest.

The blessing was over, Hunter returned to his wheelchair, and a man immediately pushed him away from the altar with Isabella walking beside him.

They were greeted by two middle-aged couples sitting in the front row among the guests and relatives, and of course, Juliana Brown was there, smiling and clapping her hands, showing her happiness.

"I feel like I'm dreaming about what happened today," the old woman said, placing her hands on Isabella's shoulders while looking at her face. "You're so beautiful... And I know you're not just physically beautiful but also have a good heart!" she continued enthusiastically, her eyes welling up.

Isabella just nodded with an awkward smile, remembering the instructions from Juliana Brown a few days ago, who had shown her photos of people she needed to know as part of the Brown family.

"Thank you for still marrying my grandson despite his condition," the old woman said again.

"Mrs. Katrina Brown..."

"Just call me grandma... You are my granddaughter now because you are my grandson's wife." The old woman insisted, furrowing her brow.

Isabella smiled awkwardly and nodded.

"Um... Sorry... I'm just not used to this because... Because this is the first time we've met."

"Yes... It's a shame Hunter didn't introduce me to you earlier, so today's wedding was very surprising to me," Katrina said, then glanced at Hunter. "You owe me an explanation... How could you hide your relationship with this beautiful girl for so long?"

"She lives far away in Seattle... And is always busy with her job, so I couldn't introduce her to you. Besides, I didn't want to bother her. The important thing is, I married her, right?" He raised his eyebrows with a slight smile.

"Yes, of course, you should marry a gentle girl like her..." Katrina looked back at Isabella. "I don't know much about you, and to me, you are something very new. But I believe you are a good girl; you will be a good wife to Hunter," she said anxiously, then hugged Isabella. "I don't know how else to say it... Thank you so much... Thank you," she whispered, rubbing Isabella's back.

Isabella just stood there, returning the hug, but in her heart, she thought, 'What is this? Grandma says I'm very kind and will be a good wife to Hunter. How will I hurt her with the divorce that will happen after three months of our marriage? She will surely be very disappointed... She will feel betrayed... Why does everything feel so strange?'

Katrina released her hug, letting her husband, Jake, mingle with Isabella, then the others too.

The day passed quickly, with only a simple party followed by a meal together while listening to speeches from the newlyweds, Hunter's parents, and even Jake Brown, who announced that he would give one of his companies to Hunter as a wedding gift.

It was quite surprising for Isabella, making her think that the marriage was for that gift, but seeing Hunter's usual expression made her less sure.

However, she didn't have time to ask Hunter because Katrina was always chatting with her.

Until night fell, she returned to the room, but it wasn't the previous room, instead, it was Hunter's room, as per Juliana's suggestion.

The woman stopped the wheelchair near the bed, glancing around awkwardly because now it was just her and Hunter, not knowing what to do.

"You can rest," Hunter said, breaking the silence.

"Um..." Isabella swallowed, then stepped in front of Hunter. "I'll rest after helping you maybe... Eh, I mean, maybe you want to change clothes or need help going to the bathroom."

Hunter gave a thin smile, realizing Isabella's nervousness.

"Do you think I'm that weak?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

Isabella just stood there, biting her lower lip.

"I can do everything myself," Hunter said calmly. "I know you're uncomfortable in that dress... Come here, I'll help you unzip it."

"But..." Isabella hesitated.

"Come on..."

"Okay..."

Isabella slightly squatted in front of Hunter, with her back to him, her heart racing, slowly feeling his strong hands touch her back.

'What is this? Why does this feel so strange? Is this a sin? But... But he's my husband. But... But is this a legitimate marriage when it's all based on an agreement and I still have a relationship with Joe...?' she wondered in her heart, very confused even though she already knew the answers to her questions.

Hunter was silent, staring at Isabella's smooth, beautiful back as if he were imagining what he could see.

"Is it done?" Isabella asked.

"Um, yes," Hunter replied, sitting up straight again, letting Isabella stand. "I'll go to the bathroom now," he continued, then wheeled himself towards the bathroom.

Isabella stood still, watching Hunter slowly disappear from her view. She felt pity seeing him just sitting there, unable to enjoy life like a normal man.

'How does he enjoy life all this time? Sex is impossible... He's impotent and can't even be dominant in bed... Is that why he didn't want to find a girl and ended up letting his mother arrange this contract marriage? But... But what is the purpose of this contract marriage? I don't think he needs a wife...'

Confused, Isabella suddenly felt dizzy and decided to change clothes. She walked to the dressing table, then sat there, removing the jewelry from her body and placing it on the table before cleaning her makeup with a cotton pad soaked in makeup remover.

After that, she took a bathrobe from the closet and put it on after taking off her white gown.

"Awhh, damn!"

Suddenly, she heard a scream from the bathroom, making her immediately think of Hunter, and quickly ran there, pushing the door, and finding him sprawled on the wet floor, his body soaking wet, wearing only black underwear.

"Hunter!"

She immediately went to him and turned off the shower.

"My God... How did this happen? You shouldn't shower standing up. You can't, you're not healed yet!" She scolded him while helping her husband sit by the bathtub.

Hunter remained silent, breathing heavily and looking down.

Isabella quickly grabbed a towel, then wrapped it around Hunter from behind to the front, but occasionally her eyes glanced at his bulging underwear.

'He's impotent... But does that mean he can't get an erection at all? But why is it... Is it bulging? Is it because... Because his thing is big?' she wondered in her heart.

"Today I was very surprised because I could stand for quite a while when we got married at the altar, so I did it again here... Holding onto the wall," Hunter said, breaking Isabella's daydream.

Isabella sighed, looking at Hunter with pity, then knelt before him.

"You can do it again, but not here. It's too dangerous... the bathroom floor is surely slippery," she said worriedly.

"I was just too enthusiastic... This is the first time after... After a year of always relying on a wheelchair," Hunter replied, looking back at Isabella and giving a thin smile. "I think this happened because I have you..."

Isabella was stunned, not understanding Hunter's words.

"Even if it's only for three months," Hunter said again. "I'm very happy... At least I'll feel what it's like to have a partner who doesn't just want to rob me," he continued.

"Um..." Isabella suddenly felt nervous, and quickly stood up again. "You should go back to the room... I'll help you."

"Leave me, but please bring my wheelchair closer, I'll crawl by myself later," Hunter said.

Isabella hurriedly moved the wheelchair closer to the bathtub, while Hunter wiped his still-wet lower body.

"Why don't you go out?" Hunter asked with a teasing smile. "Do you want to see me naked? See something useless?" He asked.

"Eh..." Isabella immediately turned her face away. "I... I'll go out." She quickly left the bathroom in a hurry.

'What is this? He said something useless... Is that his thing? Is he impotent?' she wondered in her heart, then sat on the edge of the bed while continuously imagining Hunter, especially his bulging underwear area.

Constantly daydreaming, she was suddenly distracted by a knock on the door from outside. She quickly walked to the door and opened it, finding Loraine who immediately handed her a phone.

"Joe keeps calling," Loraine said with a flat gaze. "You have to remember Juliana Brown's warning not to cause any problems while still bound by this marriage contract, so you should tell Joe not to keep calling you. The Brown family must not think you're having an affair!" she continued firmly but softly.

Isabella was stunned, now thinking about Joe who might be worried about her.
