Chapter 5 - Classmate With A So-Called "Protagonist" Template

[God Of Literature Lexicon: You are the same as always, Handrin. Even after becoming a god… Never mind, even after you become a god, it only confirms how perverted you are. Imagine becoming the God of Wanking, lol. But damn, you have indeed awakened a high-ranking talent even if it sounds very perverted.]

[God Of Novel Writing Taleos: Lol, true. Btw, what talents did you guys awaken? I presume it's related to our god position. I awakened a gold-rank talent "World Within Fiction".]

[God Of Novel Writing Taleos: It allows me to let my believers or anyone read my novels and they can insert themselves as a character within my novel. As long as they achieve something in my novel that changes the plot, they can obtain the power of those novel characters and bring them to the real world.]

[God Of Spring Verdantus: Fuck! A gold-rank talent?! Taleos is too talented to be kept alive. All of us must band together to nip the threat in the bud before it grows and threatens us all!]

[God Of Literature Lexicon: Damn! I'm jealous! Despite being the God Of Literature, I only got a green-rank talent and it only improves my reading comprehension so at most, it only allows me to learn divine techniques a lot faster. Taleos' gold-rank talent is too much of a cheat.]

[God Of Death Thanatos: Well, do you guys want to hire me? I have already become a Two-Turn Demigod and a True God has even accepted me as a disciple. I am confident I can bring the death of a mere One-Turn Demigod.]

[God Of Novel Writing Taleos: Ha ha, very funny, guys. Don't bother since I have already become a Three-Turn Demigod and I have already been accepted by a Median True God as his disciple. I already have the talent to reach Upper True God so I suggest instead of joking with me with those threats, you all might as well start bootlicking and flattering me.]

[God Of Novel Writing Taleos: Ya boi has the protagonist template in our Class 69!]

[God Of Snow Glaciella: Sigh, I feel like Taleos has indeed the strongest aura of a protagonist in our Class 69. I only have awakened a purple-rank talent and it's nothing compared to Taleos' gold-rank talent.]

[God Of Fire Ignis: Damn it! Stop with the humblebragging! At least you got a purple-rank talent, I only got a green-rank talent.]

Seeing the messages of his classmates, Barbatos chuckled, "These guys haven't changed even after becoming a god."

"If not for the chuuni-sounding chat group usernames and messages, this would have looked like the usual conversation my classmates and I would have."

After becoming gods, he and his classmates had already decided to refer to each other via each other's god names to make it more convenient. Since it was already a month, everyone in the class was already used to calling each other by their god names.

"But to think that my classmates only have a gold-rank talent as the highest awakened talent rank. Although there might be others who had higher talent ranks but chose not to reveal it, at least Taleos wouldn't lie about having a gold-rank talent and a Median True God as his master since it would be easy for us to prove his lie if he was lying."

"A Median True God is already a powerful existence and most demigods couldn't even become a True God, let alone a Median True God."

"If I were to reveal my Origin-rank talent, would I become the disciple of a powerful Main God?"

But when Barbatos had that idea, he immediately shook his head, "No, that thought is dangerous. Those old fossils would likely have a way to steal my talent and rather than accepting me as a disciple, they would likely find a way to steal my talent or at least eliminate me if they couldn't achieve that."

"There are also those who might want to occupy my body in order to take my talent so I'd rather not place my life at the hands of those old fossils."

Barbatos knew that there was a slight chance he might have a powerful Main God as his master who genuinely wanted to train him as his successor. However, the odds were low, and he preferred not to take the risk.

Even if his master had good intentions, the same couldn't be said for his master's enemies.

True Gods, and especially Main Gods, inevitably had many enemies due to their power and the conflicts that came with it. Revealing an Origin-rank talent would attract unwanted attention, placing him directly in the spotlight.

If he only had a red-rank talent, finding a Main God as a master would be feasible. But possessing two unheard-of Origin-rank talents was a risk he was unwilling to take. The potential dangers clearly outweighed the benefits.

Barbatos had never heard of a god awakening two talents, especially not Origin-rank talents.

"Sigh, I can only rely on myself and my two Origin-rank talents."

"Even though these people were my classmates, I'm not naive enough to think they won't betray me. Now that we've all become gods, their ambitions have grown, and they won't stop until they become Main Gods."

A flash of indifference glinted in his eyes as Barbatos prepared to close the chat group.

He had only checked it to gauge his classmates' reactions to awakening their divine talents. After all, knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to winning a hundred battles.

Before he was about to close the chat group, he was pinged by the class monitor.

[God Of Spring Verdantus: @God Of Wind Barbatos, yo bro! Stop lurking! You are the prince charming of our school so might as well send a message here or two to let us know if you are still alive or not.]

[God Of Spring Verdantus: One of our 69 classmates had already died in the Eternal Continent so we need to form an alliance. It's only been a month yet one of our classmates has already died so we need to work together and increase our chances of survival.]
