Chapter 56 - unsettling feeling

"Rain," my father spoke. As silent as he was, he couldn't hold it in. "Did I raise you to allow boys in your place?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. "Dad, i will explain things later for now lets focuse on you guys" I replied, my voice trembling slightly.

My father's expression softened, but his eyes still held a hint of worry. "Alright, Rain. We'll talk later."

My mother placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, her touch warm and reassuring. "We just want to make sure you're okay, sweetheart."

"I know, Mom. I appreciate it." I forced a smile, hoping to ease their concerns.

My brothers exchanged glances, clearly sensing the tension but choosing to stay quiet. The room fell into an uneasy silence, the clinking of dishes the only sound breaking it.

As I helped clear the table, I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, scrutinized. It was as if the weight of their expectations was pressing down on me, making it hard to breathe. I needed to find a way to explain without causing more worry, without disappointing them.

I took a week off from work to bond with my parents and my two brothers, Ruben and Raymond. Together, we planned a week-long itinerary to explore the country and go on a tour. My family was watching the TV, and Junior appeared on one of the press interviews speaking about the new business deal. "Oh," Raymond asked, munching the snacks, "isn't he Rain's boyfriend over there?"

Ruben, being forward, quickly searched his name on the internet. "Oh my God," the family asked curiously, "what?"

"Look, Junior Lee is the multi-billionaire. Check out his biography."

Everyone gathered around Ruben's phone, eagerly peering at the screen. The room buzzed with whispers as they read about Junior Lee's accomplishments and ventures.

"Wow, I had no idea Rain was dating someone so influential," my mother remarked, her eyes wide with amazement.

"Dad, he's even better than the match you got for Rain back at home."

"We will see about that," Dad replied. "It's not like they're married; they're still dating and having fun. Besides, they are different. It will never work."

"But you never know," mom chimed in, trying to lighten the mood. "Love can be unexpected and surprising."

Raymond nodded thoughtfully, "Yeah, who knows what the future holds? Rain is the one who hold the key"

their conversation shifted as they started discussing our upcoming trip. We had planned to visit several landmarks, and explore the vibrant culture and history the country has to offer. Our itinerary included visits to the ancient palaces, a hike up the serene trails, and a relaxing day at the beaches of Island.

"We should also try some local street food," Ruben suggested with enthusiasm. "Absolutely," Mom agreed. "And we must visit the traditional markets. I want to bring back some handmade crafts."

As they continued to discuss our plans, the excitement in the room grew. It was clear that this trip would be more than just a vacation; "Don't forget to pack comfortable shoes," Mom reminded us. "We're going to be doing a lot of walking."
