Estir was sitting on his bed and thinking what he should cook. After a while, he doesn't even know when, he laid down and couldn't focus on anything.

"Maybe I should make fries. Or soup. Those pants are so uncomfortable. What's today date?.."  

While he was thinking, fire appeared on the floor of his room. At first, it was burning like normal fire, but after less than one second, most of it became red, and it took the shape of a ball. Then, it divided into 4 pieces, each flew in different direction. Those pieces remained connected by a line of smaller fireballs, forming a rhombus. 

Estir noticed it, but couldn't focus on it, nor do anything. 

When the walls of that rhombus became 2 meters long, its center turned into a portal. If Estir could stand up, and look at it, he would see a table made from black stone, walls, which are too made from stone, but red one. It seemed like it was covered layer of pink, semi-transparent matter, but in fact it was covering portal.

From under this layer, invisible hand rose and lifted Estir, who couldn't even move.

At this point, Estir couldn't register what was happening to him. 

He then landed on a table made from black stone, and violet fog appeared around him. Fog moved to his wrist and ankles, immobilizing them. 

Few seconds passed, but nothing happened. However, Estir's mind became a little clear. He then was freed from fog, which disappeared, and lifted by invisible force to sit. 

When his senses returned, the first thing he saw was a beautiful angel, who was holding a sword with humanoid, almost completely black demon pierced by it. Estir could even swear that he hears screaming, but he couldn't find any source. 

Not that it was important, or he had time for it. 

Angel wasn't high, he had maybe 1.7m and 1 pair of white wings on his back. His whole body was covered with elaborate armor, made from blue steel. It had many thick golden lines and gems as elements of decoration. 

His face didn't have any holes for nose, mouth, or eyes, it didn't even resemble a human face, as it was rounded. The only decoration there was two horizontal, thick gold lines at the level of cheekbones. It also has sapphire in a place corresponding to the place between human eyebrows. 

- Now you're safe. - Angel spoke with neutral tone. 

Estir fell on his face and started thanking, knowing that he almost suffered a terrible fate, and that the being he is talking to is something far more powerful than he can understand.

- Thank you! Thank you!

- Estir.

Estir froze and stopped talking.

- Your devotion and sacrifices attracted God's attention. Therefore, he has an offering for you. 

Estir didn't dare to speak. He only lifted his head to look at angel.

- You can either go back to earth, or stay here, in Hell. You will be gifted with powers which allow you to star Demon Hunt.

-De-demon Hunt? - Estir spoke with disbelief. - You want me to become Hunter of God? .

- Yes. And you can end it whenever you want to. As you should know, to start Demon Hunt, you will be gifted with three things. The first is Devouring Absorption, which will let you gain power and knowledge of every being you will eat. The second is Divine Concealment, which will hide you from sight of every demon, except 2 or more Kings. And the third, Pure Soul. Devouring Absorption has a serious flaw, if you eat bodies and souls of demons, you will receive their corruption, their sins. Pure Soul will help you stay yourself. I believe I don't have to mention you can't rely on it entirely. 

Angels moved his sword and threw the body of the demon in front of Estir. 

- So, will you accept this offer? Remember, you don't have to. 

- Yes, I will! Thank you. Thank you and God. Please tell him that I am grateful for that chance. I always wanted to become Hunter of God or Saint. To be able to kill demons I despise. I am grateful, and I promise, I will do everything to destroy as many demons as possible! I will even fight to the last drop of my blood! And even if I die, or end like some kind of slave, I-

- Estir.

- I apologise. I got too excited, and let my hate speak for myself.

Angel sheathed his sword and spoke once more.

- Powers of God and Angels are standing in opposition to powers of demons, that's why we can't give you more gifts. But I believe you will survive by yourself.

Angel looked directly into Estir's eyes. He then felt something entering him. 

- You received Gifts. You can now eat that demon. His rank is High Demon, his Stage of Depravity is Immersed. However, I had to attack him, what heavily damaged his soul. I'm sorry, but after eating it you will receive powers of Low Demons (rank), whose Stage of Depravity is Sinful. 

- That's nothing. Do not worry. 

- Whether you want, I can help you get more strength. But before it, I have to move you to another city. Death of Low and Middle Demons will remain unnoticed for long time, as they prefer to avoid contacts with other demons. However, death of High Demons will be quickly noticed.  Can you eat it now?

- Yes.

Estir touched dead body of demon, and it became liquid. He quickly devoured it, what was easy since it was flying into his mouth by itself. 

The more he devoured, the stronger Estir felt. When he ended, he already felt that his body possesses inhuman strength. However, besides power, something dark appeared in him. Something what disgusted him. But it was easily muffed by Pure Soul. 

Then, angel touched his arm, and teleported them to another city. It was also made from red stone, but Estir could fell that beings around him are weaker. Much weaker, than at previous city. 

- If you have any questions, now is the time to ask them. 

- Could you tell me more about Ranks of Demons and Stages of Depravity? I'm not familiar with them.

- Of course. There are 9 Ranks of Demons. Besides last, Kings, every rank divide into 12 Stages of Depravity. Those Ranks are:

Every demon from rank below is weaker than the demon from rank above. No matter the Stage they are. And Stages are:

Angel stopped speaking, letting Estir absorbe information.

- Now our paths will diverge. Unless, you have more questions.

- No, I do not.

- Then, I wish you good luck. 

Angel disappeared, and Estir was left alone. He then looked at himself, thanks to what he noticed, that he is wearing white robe, which he doesn't know when he got.

After a while he could control his emotions and looked around.

The hunt shall begin.
