Chapter 17 - CH17- Zero Patience Left

-Isaac Allen's View-

"Barry, for a grown man that's lanky and tall like you, you are ridiculously slow." I told Barry. We were just told that we missed the train to get back to Central City and the next one is in the morning. I mean, it was expected because if we did make it then Oliver would die. I also did slow Barry down a little bit just to make sure we would miss it.

"I know Tate." Barry replied.

We took a seat at the bench and I patiently waited for the dart to come.

A piercing sound entered my ear as I sat beside Barry.

Two darts came from an unknown direction. One stuck Barry in the neck, while I caught the other. Barry grabbed his neck, but passed out seconds later.

"Damn it." I heard Diggle's voice.

"You know when you knock someone unconscious, it feels like dead weight. Imagine carrying two dead weight bodies to your van outside." I said with a smirk. I stood up and turned to Diggle who was approaching Barry.

"Look, we don't have much time. I need you to come with me."

"Whatever you say Diggle." He sighed and picked up Barry before loading him into the back. I hopped in with him as Felicity drove off.

"Wait, you didn't knock out Tate?" Felicity asked confusingly. Diggle looked at her weirdly for calling me by my nickname.

"What? He's a good kid, he's like the cute little brother who gets along with all the teachers. But not a teachers pet." Felicity rambled. Over the six month time period that Oliver disappeared, I had seen Felicity a lot and she was easy to talk to.

Well, mainly because she talks a lot, but she was also relatable. I liked the dynamic we had, it was exceptionally natural.

——

I watched Barry flutter his eyes open and take in his surroundings. I'm sure he would've fanboyed if he didn't notice that this was a dire situation based on the atmosphere of everyone.

Felicity approached him with a serious expression, something rare for a sweetheart like her.

"Barry, I need you to save my friend." She started. Barry looked around before his eyes landed on Oliver's unconscious body.

Oliver's vitals suddenly went haywire and his body started to convulse.

"Hold him down!" Barry said to restrict his movement as much as possible. I held down his legs while Diggle held down his shoulders to keep him still against the bed.

"He's not gonna make it." Diggle said, looking at the vitals.

"He will. We just have to find out what's in his system." Felicity said .

"I usually only work on dead people." Barry said running a hand through his hair, clearly getting stressed.

"Alright. I can think of four possible diagnoses for what's causing his body to react this way." Barry went and grabbed a flashlight, looking into Oliver's eyes.

"Make that three possible diagnoses. Two. Start chest compressions." Barry told Diggle. As Diggle did chest compressions, Barry grabbed a syringe and extracted some of Oliver's blood.

"Got it. He's suffering from intravenous coagulation." Barry said.

"What?" Felicity asked.

"His blood is unnaturally clotting, like maple syrup." I quickly explained. Barry taught me a few things from his time college, I just happen to have a good memory when it comes to this life.

"You can save him, right?" She asked Barry.

Barry nodded and walked towards a box of rat poison in the corner.

"Lucky you guys have a rat problem." He said. Barry walked over to a beaker and poured some of the poison in there.

"Are you kidding? That's gonna kill him!" Diggle said.

"He dies if I don't." Barry replied.

"The right amount of this stuff should get his blood to start circulating again." Barry said after putting it in the syringe. He put the needle in Oliver's arm and pumped the rat poison in his system.

——

After Oliver's body had stabilized, a few minutes later, Oliver jumped up and started strangling Barry.

"Woah, Oliver chill!" I came up and threw his hand off of Barry. I sat Barry down and stared at Oliver.

"The kid saved your life Oliver." Diggle confirmed.

"This is the point in a life-saving emergency where you thank the person that did the life-saving." Felicity said.

"You told them who I am." Oliver stated, turning around to look at her.

"Yeah, I did."

"That's not your secret to tell Felicity. I decide who finds out my identity." Oliver said.

"Well, we didn't have time to get your vote what with you unconscious and dying." Felicity said, slightly raising her voice.

"What if he leaves here and goes straight to the police?" Oliver questioned.

"He wouldn't do that because you know I wouldn't have done that." I said, drawing Oliver's attention to me.

"I think you need to stop acting like a jackass, and realize what they're saying to you. He saved your life and if he didn't, why would your identity matter if you're a dead man?" Oliver sighed in disbelief.

"Imagine Felicity and Diggle decided to try and save you by themselves, what would've happened? The entire world would figure out that Oliver Queen is the Arrow and died. You'd be leaving your mom behind, you'd be leaving Thea, Laurel-"

"Don't talk about Laurel." Oliver said, getting in my face.

"You don't scare me, Queen." I coldly said back. The high tension was broken by Oliver's phone going off. He looked at his phone and sighed.

"I have to go home. The man that I fought in the bunker, he has what he needs to mass produce the serum from the island. And we have to stop him."

"The man that fought you touched your neck and I was able to absorb residual oils from his skin which, when added to a gel-based polymer might be able to recreate his fingerprint." Barry explained to Oliver. Oliver just walked away, not one to indulge in science talk. Plus he just didn't like Barry.

I scoffed at Oliver. If I didn't know that he and Barry eventually get along, then I might've beaten his ass a while ago. I sighed and rubbed my temple.

'What's the point in trying to talk some sense into a guy like Oliver if you're not a love interest or family member.'

——

'Oliver Queen has ran up my patience and tolerance today. I'm going back home. I'll find another chance to talk to Stein.'

"I'm going back home." I stated abruptly. I stood up from where I was sitting and grabbed my jacket.

"What? Why?" Felicity and Barry asked simultaneously.

Oliver had came back earlier and left with Diggle to confront the dangerous man created by Brother Blood using Mirakuru.

"Usually I can deal with Oliver, but I'm done for the day. I don't know how you've dealt with him for so long Felicity." With that, I exited the club and waited at the train station for the next train to Central City.

Unfortunately, the next train won't be until two hours from now.

Fortunately, Barry had made it to the train station when there were 10 minutes left.

"You were almost fashionably late, Allen." I said playfully.

"And you were fashionably too early, Allen." He replied.
