Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

OUTSKIRTS OF MIKS VILLAGE

Attack" the battle cry went out sending shivers to the hearts of those engaging in a battle and raid for the first time. Those who had fought and killed countless human beings saw no difference between what they were doing and the killing of livestock for meat for after charging in, the only thing on their mind was to maim, slaughter, pillage, and rape the villagers because that was the best part of the war that they loved.

The Commander, a man who had countless battles and killed more than he hoped the gods could forgive him for could still not understand why the King had ordered them to destroy a neutral village, this was asking for war.

A neutral village was a place where not even the King himself could enter to execute anybody he wished, for they were under the protection of a god that no one knew about, but due to a single prophecy century of history would be overturned.

Maybe the world was coming to an end like all those heretics used to shout but once an order had been given, he had to ensure it was carried out, that was something no matter how old he got could never be removed from his heart for it had been carved inside like the blood flowing through his body.

Looking forward, he could already see the bloodshed that was to come as he pulled down his visor and charged in, a Commander who hid at the back of his men was a coward to him.

RANDOM HOUSE

Arthur woke up to the acrid smell of smoke amidst the cries and bloodcurdling screams of women and children all mixed. Looking down at the floor of his room, he could only see a red liquid increasing like a village being flooded.

Standing up, he noticed that the liquid was somewhat sticky, as he reached out to touch it, his door was suddenly broken, and standing in what used to be the frame was a young man holding a sword dripping with the red liquid and surveying his environment like a beast that hadn't eaten for days, even his eyes hid no trace if his bloodlust to kill.

'Meat!' he shouted rushing forward resembling a starved beast out of its slumber.

'Arthur!' his grandfather roared parring the attack and killing the beast-like human in front of him.

Looking closely at him Arthur noticed the changes surrounding his grandfather, his beard was no longer there and with no traces of white hair, wrinkles, or bending of his back, he looked entirely like a new person altogether.

'A young man in his thirties, no way can this be my grandfather but he knows my name, who told him and why do they look alike? Just who is he?' Arthur thought scrutinizing the man in front of him amidst the cries of people as his mind zoned out with the feeling that it was natural. He didn't even realize when they reached the stable.

"Who are you? And why, why, why am I not feeling anything as all these people are dying? What kind of monster am I becoming? Aaaaargh!" Arthur shouted crying, holding his head in between his hands suddenly realizing.

"Arthur, I'm sorry for lying to you but I had to do it to protect you and me. I'm your uncle, you might find it surprising but I'm a wanted man so run, and never turn back, I don't want you to come down this path of mine and your father's. You're a Mist, war is in your blood but I want you to avoid it, don't give in to the devil we were cursed to be s-"

"Shut up!" Interjected Arthur cutting him off. "What do you take me as? A fool, even as people are dying outside you are busy taking me to the stables don't think I'll believe you just like that".

Smack!

"that is no way to talk to your elders. Get it in your head right here and now, I and your parents did everything to protect but see the rubbish you utter. Never show anybody the mark on your back. For from now, you're a wanted man Arthur Mist, the last pureblooded descendant of the Mist I wish you luck on your journey" his uncle made his way to sharpen a sword while Arthur saddled tears streaming down his face.

"Let go together then, with your strength, nobody will be able to catch us" spoke Arthur.

"Just like your father, but your path and mine are different. My days of journey are over so go, go east of Stylia Valley, people who will train you shall await so prove yourself valiantly" his uncle spoke handing over the sword.

"Take care Arthur" was the last thing he heard before the horse bounded out.

OUTSIDE THE HOUSE

"A boy on horseback is escaping" someone shouted spotting the horse

"Cha_" his head was sliced off before he could continue

"Who are you to dare stop an imperial order" Another infantry spoke his sword on the killer's neck.

Before the knight could react, the killer pushed the sword away with his left hand turning around in an arc, another head falling off not knowing what had happened.

"Listen up!" the killer shouted at the infantry going around the village to kill " I am Mandon the Lion, faithful comrade and brother to the former Queen, upon the sun shining in the sky, none here will defeat me till it falls"

"Capture him" an infantry shouted moving towards him.

"For the love of the kingdom capture the traitor" The infantry moved forward.

Like a skillful dancer, Mandon moved in between the infantry, heads falling to his sword.

Like wind, the arrival of Mandon spread to the other end of the village

"Mandon you treacherous scum dare show your face, guess this just got more exciting. Now I know why I was chosen to come here" he turned to the hundred elite knights he had brought with him

"We move to capture the traitor" he roared sending his horse into a gallop.
