"Viola?" Jodie called again. "There is, isn't there? Why aren't you telling me the entire truth? I thought we were in this together."
Viola stopped her pacing and glanced over at her. "There's nothing else I know aside from what I've been reading about them."
"No." Crossing her arms over her chest, Jodie shook her head distrustfully. "You said she had a personal interest in me. I'm sorry but I don't think you read that up in some history books on vile witches. Also, since I'm apparently the first hybrid in the kingdom, I doubt there's anything to read up about me. I'm no fool, Viola."
"I never said you were."
"Then stop treating me like one!"
"There are prophecies," Viola interjected easily. She was prepared to tell her something. It had to be something true but safe, and to avoid making Jodie feel like she was on to something bigger, Viola kept a straight face to go with her unperturbed persona.
