"Jodie." Her name slid from his mouth smoothly, as if he'd said it a thousand times before. And maybe he had; the gods only knew. A sly smile danced across his lips as he moved closer to her. "Humour me, my little flower, how exactly do you intend to stop me?"
Light amusement danced across his otherwise dark eyes.
She opened her mouth to answer, but nothing came out. It was impossible to articulate words as his body now hovered over hers. It felt like he was touching her without really touching her. His body heat warmed her curves, and even though this position was quite distracting from the main issue, she didn't want him to step away.
He asked, "Are you going to tell me or show me?"
"I'm being very serious, Ares. I won't let you."
"I know..."
