The rumours have reached my itching ears this fine afternoon—Serene is awake. Larry had broken the news to everyone he met on an errand to Viola's cabin, and he'd assured them that she was going to be fine. The wolves are so excited that they hurried over to the den to confirm the rumours but were turned back at the entrance. The alpha has completely limited the number of people who could enter to only those who actually lived or worked up there with him.
They weren't disappointed, though. As soon as the entrance guard confirmed Larry's stories, most returned to their homes merrily while the others threw a mini celebration at Macy's tavern—the only bar in the pack. I put on a smile and mingle with the bar patrons, moving in out of different conversations about Serene's supposed recovery. Apparently, they're excited that she survived and would reveal the name of her assailant as soon as she's much better.
