Disaster (재앙)
Upon hearing the word, most would immediately think of natural calamities like earthquakes or tsunamis—and understandably so. But in the novel Song of Nightmares, the term held a completely different meaning.
In the original novel, there was a line that described it perfectly:
「 Some may regress upon death, while others are sent to a new dimension to start anew. In the end, it all hinges on the roles they are assigned. But there are those burdened with the role of a calamity, and that becomes their inescapable fate 」
A Disaster was not a mere calamity of nature but a person shackled to the role of destruction, bound by the narrative to act as an unyielding force of destruction.
They were possibilities written into the story known as the inevitable harbingers of chaos.
