Chapter 10 - Chapter X - Did I Tell you I miss You?

A sharp short burst of laughter filled the small room, then a sigh followed.

". It's been long, love.". Her red lips curled to a smile. ". How've you been?.".

Vana and Lanel proceeded to sit, with Kato beside them. Ofcourse, no one is meant to intrude in their conversation. The one before them is the new head of the bureau of Japan, the one beside them is the most dangerous character in the labyrinth, and the arena.

". Is this how reunions are meant to be.". Her soft voice which seemed to elevate a person's spirits to the high heavens was instantly pleasing to Vana. Now she knew why Kato fell for her. Still it was weird.

". Forgive me,". He stood up, walked towards her. Kneeling, he took her right hand and kissed it.

". Manners maketh man, right?.". Inquisition was present in his deep voice. The lady looked pleased, with her right purple eye gleaming down on him like he was chosen again. He knew how she was, what she liked and dislikes. Afterall, he was with her for months,

he knew her both intimately and emotionally.

On the other hand, Lanel was at least almost his mistress age.

". You still remember.". She raised him up to his feet. Using telekinesis, she moved his chair to her side. Then looked at him.

". Sit, ". She pointed her hand towards the chair. He looked at her, several strands of hair falling on his face.

". Don't you want to know what happened all these years?." She asked.

Kato took a moment to look around the room, glancing towards Vana and Lanel whose eyes were fixed on them. He sat down, and then a purple glow emanated before him. His mistress opened her hands and then a hologram hovered over.

". My love, this is the world now.". The hologram began showing series of actions, through court to wars to killing, massacre and peace. Wild transitions were then passed down, but he recognised someone. The figure he saw and he instantly became worried. He sighed, taking a deep breath.

". A threat huh, ?. ". He scoffed, closing his eyes.

". That's what you are deemed to be.". She replied. She saw the anger and frustration mixed with anxiety hover over his face. He tried so hard to hide it, but it was futile.

". I don't understand.". A cracked female voice reverberated in the room. Vana cocked a brow.

". What did you show him now, in few seconds.". She needed answers. What was able to make the friend whom was high and mighty, to suddenly slump like chicken.

Lanel touched Vana's hand. She turned to Lanel.

". Lady Kira here, has an ability to instantly flow knowledge into an individual, so vivid it's almost like they experienced it.". She gulped. Vana too was a respected character in the arena. These two captives she had to protect, were no joke. Dangerous and yet friendly as ever. Well, only Vana was friendly at the very least. Vana shook her head, then stood up.

". So what did you show him, that...". She advanced towards the lady. Pointing towards him, she closed in on the lady. Staring into her eye. She lost her left one alright. Purple iris which seemed to have the same abilities as lightning. Mystery enshrouded her, she was menacing in that sitting position. But she has seen a lot of menance since she was a kid.

". Made him like that.". Her white hair fell to her face. The lady gave a wry, devilish smile. Expressing her pleasure in Vana's actions. She opened her mouth to speak.

". Be gone.". And almost instantly, Vana experienced the worst moment of her life. She felt an incredible pressure, slam against her, forcing her to the ground. It took few moments for Vana to realize, she was fading away, literally. She saw her body crumbling to dust. She couldn't move, but her head was raised. What she saw horrified her. This lady was no different from Kato, the exact replica of him. She loved this, her facial expression explained that.

". Don't let your ancestors think their fight was all waste.". The lady spoke up, her pupil vanished. The air around her was shrouded immediately in crows. She stood up, raised her leg and stomped on Vana with her heels. Vana's eyes widened as blood immediately filled in it. Her ears began bleeding. She was fading away alright, but far too slow to escape this lady's torment. She was sure it was Kato's mistress that slowed down her erasure. She tried to hold it in, but the second stomp made her burst out a sharp cry, as blood splayed on everyone and everything present in the room. She had felt pain before, so much. But the pain of erasure and this stomping torment made her instantly loose consciousness

". I'll torture you slowly, like the slave you are meant to be.". Her teeth gleamed.

She felt a hand on her shoulder, and turned back to the one who dared to do that. She sighed.

". Who does she think she is.". Mistress Kira was still obviously annoyed. Gnashing her teeth, she sat back down and stopped the erasure.

". And...". His deep voice requested for more. His mistress looked at him in disapproval. He cocked his brow. She stared at him blankly for few minutes.

". You have changed.". She said.

". And so have you.". He replied. Both of them knew each other far too well. She turned back to Vana, who was still lying helpless on the floor. She waved her hand over her. In a blink of an eye, she was healed. Kato went over Vana, and squat near her.

". Are you okay?.". He raised her up. She was still dizzy, but looked at him and nodded. She got herself back.

". What's all this lovey dovey shit,...". She pushed back Kato. ". I'm fine.". Her cracked voice showed her vigor. He smiled at her, then turned back to his mistress.

". Now we are all dirty.". He said. His mistress didn't look pleased as usual, but he knew trying to appease her would make it worse. He needs to stick to the matter at hand. He walked to his chair beside her and sat down. Facing the two companions opposite, he began.

". To satisfy your curiosity, Vana.". He looked at her. She was wiping her blood off her face. He white satin was stained badly, with an embrace of dark red. She turned to him. Obviously she was annoyed but she had to keep her cool. She can still be erased. So, pretence. Yes, let her play pretence. She hates that mistress for sure

". I am being known in the outside world right now as something called a Forsaken.". Kato started. Vana's interest increased.

". I have no idea what Forsaken is, but that's what I am.". He wet his lips with his saliva.

". My name isn't known but, I am known. The spectators in the arena have taken me to the outside world.". Vana's eyes widened. She knew what this meant. This is it, the reason why it was so uneven. Why Kato was in distress.

". This formal gathering, after-party. The sudden peace treaty.". Vana looked at the mistress. Her face seemed pale, but her purple eyes gave life to it.

". Is a protective measure against him.". Vana said. The lady slowly nodded, yet smiling menancingly. She really moulded Kato. Yes, it all stitches perfectly. There is no one, who would see Kato in the arena and not think about the consequence of his release.

". Right now, I'm deemed a Catastrophic threat because, it is known around the world, some bully remembers my body stature through mere words and some mechanical device that freezes time.".

". It's called a phone, dear.". His mistress opened her hand, in the midst of the purple flames, a phone appeared unscathed. The flames died down, and she held it.

". You have been too quiet, Miss Voyager.". The phone flew across the room in a flash, and burst through the wall.

". Heh,. ". Lanel scoffed. ". Just a little more and that could have hit me.". She wiped her face. She was stained by Vana's blood, but didn't bother to wipe it.

". I don't get it, ". Vana shook her head. ". Even so, Kato is immortal. I mean, look at him.". Everyone turned to him. His face reflected his pale heart.

". He doesn't look human.".

". Thats the thing." Lanel chipped in. She took up the air conditioner remote on an oak stool beside her chair, and reduced the temperature more to it's lowest.

". Forsakens are not human.". She dropped the remote. Everyone shifted their gaze to her.

". Forsakens, as the name, are humans who have forsaken their humanity in search of greater power. Thier common purpose is to revamp the world, and change humanity's way of war and strategic destruction.". She snapped her fingers, a large brown oak stool appeared in their midst. On it, was a tray with wine and glasses. A maid with mask, accompanied the tray and she began pouring. They looked at the maid, who was shivering as she did her job. Probably out of fear, yeah. It was out of fear. She finished, and handed out glasses to each person and vanished. Lanel took a sip of the blue wine and sighed. Crossing her legs, she continued.

". They believe humans are responsible for their own destruction and plan to reshape the world.". She looked at her glass.

". Though, their objective is correct...". Mistress Kira started to say.". But their ways are wrong.". She looked at Kato.

". I know you want to kill him, but you can't now.". She said, taking another sip of her wine.

Kato had already finished his and ate the cup for some reason.

". And why is that?.". Blood flowed out of his mouth as he chewed the glass.

". Yeah, ". Vana looked at her. ". He is immortal.".

". He's not immortal,". Lanel said. She finished her wine. ". At least not yet, what he possesses is super regen.".

". Yeah??.". Vana cocked a brow.

". Meaning, there is still a possibility he can die.". Lanel pointed towards him.

". Moreover, the story behind his resurrection twelve years ago is a mystery.". She looked at Mistress Kira, smiling. ". Which classifies your love as a Catastrophic level threat.". Mistress Kira returned the smile. Vana nodded, she was understanding the info being given. She laughed softly, already wished to be extinct even before his arrival.

". Kato doesn't have powers, he can't utilize it.". Vana turned back to the Lady. ". And you know it, miss.".

". That's why I'm here.". Lanel sighed. ". Protection.".

". Wait, wait I don't still get it. ". Kato looked at his mistress.

". What is a Catastrophic level threat. Is it some new stuff.?.". He asked.

". No, it isn't. Infact you know about it.". She smiled. Holding his chin, she kissed him on the cheek.

". Why you were so anxious and doubtful about the peace treaty.". She said, relaxing back on her chair. She kept smiling. He didn't even remember she had lost an eye. Well, he had to think deep of what she said.

Peace treaty, why was there a peace treaty. Then he got it, and smiled. There is no one in his position who won't smile. What made him catastrophic level isn't his ability to utilize powers, since he can't anyway. But his inhumanity and durability. A peace treaty was signed because an Emperor realm was killed in South Korea. The battle to solve and justify each nation led to a demi world war, wiping half the world population that time. Kato knew he was merciless, and the demands of his inhuman body made him to eat almost anything. He heaved a sigh, and then looked up to the ceiling.

". Haa, all this because of him.". He smiled sheepishly. Yonikaharu was the cause of all this, they don't know his name, just the fact that he's Evil's descent. Gifteds, these supernaturals are on par to rival emperor level threats. He was going to see them again. Worst part, battle against her.

". So you're saying...". Vana realised her friend's threat level.

". Yes, ". Lanel nodded her head.

". And I wanted to end this, and live normal. Just a guy ". He smiled. As soon as he left here, Ofcourse mistress Kira would hide him and his companions but an all out war was brewing.

". The fact they want to fight him, states they have a way to contain him right. Something to subdue his regen?.". Vana asked.

". Yes,." . Lanel replied.

". Don't worry, love.". Mistress Kira's lost eyes glowed purple. ". I'm here.".

Is this why Nozeh said he can't go out, he knew all along. Damn, he shouldn't have killed Nozeh. More info was needed.

". Musaru Kato here.". Lanel pointed to him, her gaze fixed on Vana.

"....Is a continent level threat.".
