Nora slowly opened her eyes, and yawned. Her vision was a bit blurry, and she shut them close again
"Wh- what happened?"
She yawned, and stretched.
"Mrs. Robinwood, are you okay?"
She turned her head in the direction of the voice, and shook her head, "I.. don't.."
Her eyes snapped open, "My baby!" She panicked, and tried sitting up.
"Relax Mrs. Robinwood, take it easy."
She tapped her head slightly, and turned to face the doctor, and the nurse that stood at her side.
"How are you feeling?"
She creased her brows, "How did I get here?" She scratched her head, "How is my baby?"
The baby is fine Mrs. Robinwood, but it seems you are not," the doctor replied calmly.
Of course she was not!
She sighed, "I was just stressed out."
"You were so stressed out. Your blood pressure shot up, unlikely for someone your age."
She bit her lips, with the loads of problem she was having, of course her blood pressure was bound to shoot up.
The doctor squinted his eyes suspiciously, "How did you get your hands stained, yet you were not bruised?"
Her head raced back to the moment Jimmy shot Joseph, and then the blood splashed on her hands.
She fidgeted, "It's complicated, I don't wanna talk about it."
The doctor, and the nurse exchanged glances.
"Please can I get a class of water? I'm thirsty."
The nurse quickly got a glass of water, Na handed it over to her, "Here you go Mrs. Robinwood."
"Thank you."
"We should go," he told the nurse, and they both left the ward.
Her heart skipped a beat. She didn't miss the suspicious look on the doctor's face when he had talked about the blood.
"Oh God, Jimmy see what you have caused!" She muttered under her breath.
She closed her eyes, and tried to calm herself down, "What if the body of Joseph is found?"
She sucked in her breath, "Just don't act suspicious."
She rested back on the pillow, and closed her eyes, "It won't be that bad, I will be fine."
***
Two nurses passed by her ward, "Did you hear about the body of one of the employees of the Luxuria printing and publishing inc? It was dug into a grave!"
Nora's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes widened. They found him?!
A cold sweat broke out on her forehead, the truth would come out soon. What was she going to do? Turn Jimmy in to the police?
She bit her lips, "What am I supposed to do now?"
She was obviously panicking, and she feared someone would suspect her for being connected to the murder of Joseph.
"I shouldn't have given in to his threat, I shouldn't have, but.." her head was a mess, and she was trying so hard to think through.
The doctor again came into the office, this time with a dead serious look.
"Mrs. Robinwood," he called out firmly.
"Yes?"
"Did you hear about the body of an employee of Luxuria printing and publishing inc? It was dug out from a grave that someone had dug."
She tried as much as she could to compose herself, "Why are you asking me this?"
"I was just curious," he faked a smile, "Since you came in here, your left hand was stained with blood, but you had no bruises. Why would your hand be stained with blood?"
She closed her eyes, and exhaled thinking of the best possible way to reply. She knew if she tried dodging the question, she would be tagged as a suspect.
She opened her mouth to say something but didn't have anything to say. There was no possible lie she could come up with, since no one walked around with a tank of blood, and she'd dip her hand in it.
She bent her head, her heart racing, what was she supposed to do now?
"No words?"
She gulped, and shook her head.
"I thought as much," he mumbled, and nodded, "Thank you very much Mrs. Robinwood," he walked out of the ward.
Her heart kept pounding in her chest, and she was now soaked with sweat. To think that Jimmy was not as worried as she was, cracked her up.
She palmed her face, and looked around, hoping to find a telephone. She whipped her head to the left, and saw a telephone nearby. She tried her best to reach out for it, and took it.
She felt a pain in her ribs, but she ignored it, "Ugh," she dialled Jimmy's personal number, fuming.
After a few rings, he picked up the call.
"He-"
"Do you want to put me in trouble?"
"Ex-"
"Where are you? So you left me all by myself in the ward? Really?"
"Oh, Nora."
"Don't Nora me! What exactly do you want to do to me?!" She almost yelled.
"Calm your a** already, I'm already working out some stuff."
"Have you heard the news?"
"I have," he sighed.
She clenched her fists, enraged, "I warned you!"
"Whatever. It's not as if they have the footage or something."
"What do you mean? I'm already becoming a suspect. What in the lord's name do you want?!" This time she yelled, and the police officers that were outside the ward came in.
"You are under arrest ma'am for the murder of your colleague Mr. Joseph Wilston," the inspector said
She paused, and dropped the telephone, "What?" Her voice was a whisper.
"You have the right to remain silent. Handcuff her," he told his constables.
Her hands were placed in handcuffs, "But.. I.. didn't do anything," she said calmly.
"Hm, Mr. Kim your doctor, had confirmed that he had seen blood on your hands, and you had no wounds. The body of Mr. Joseph was all bloody, and you must have dragged him to the grave while he was still bleeding."
Her eyes pricked with tears, "Trust me when I say I didn't do anything," her voice cracked.
"Come on," the constables yanked her out of the bed, "Get going!"
She broke down into sobs.
"I'm pregnant! Please don't do this!"
"Take her away!"
Nora slowly opened her eyes, and yawned. Her vision was a bit blurry, and she shut them close again
"Wh- what happened?"
She yawned, and stretched.
