Chapter 5 - His feelings

She unconsciously held her finger which the ring was on, her heart thumping.

"But.. I almost have never taken it off," she whined.

"It's time for you to take it off now, you're no longer into him, are you?"

"It's just that.." she looked at her finger, "This is what marks me a married woman, I don't know how I'd feel if it was taken off."

His palm was still outstretched, "C'mon now, take it off. There is no use in wearing it any longer. You're only bothering yourself the more, take it off, strip yourself of that burden on you."

She slowly touched her ring finger and caressed her ring unconsciously, "Uh.. do you think I'll be free?"

He nodded, "Just try it."

She gently took it off and placed it on his palm, "Here," she said quietly.

He looked at the ring and nodded, he stood up and walked to the window, "Watch him leave," he smiled tenderly at her.

He looked forward and tossed the ring in the air, her heart skipped several beats and she looked away, she couldn't watch it be thrown it just like that.

It went down, until only the sparkles of the ring could seen.

When it had finally disappeared, he turned to look at her, "There, he's gone."

She felt.. different.. as if something had been taken off her shoulders, "Yeah, he is,"she nodded.

He walked back to her, "Are you okay?"

She nodded, "I feel better," she grinned.

He nodded, "I told you, all you just needed was him off your shoulders. You'll be fine now," he placed his hand on hers.

She bit her lips, "Probably," she looked away.

He placed a hand on her right cheek and made her face him, "Stop being negative, you should try being positive too. You don't want all this, do you?"

She shook her head, "No, I dont think I can take it anymore, I just want to be happy, nothing more than that."

"Then be happy," he whispered.

She looked at him in the eye and her heart skipping a beat, his hazel eyes held so much comfort in it, for a moment she wished he could wrap her in his arms and she'd just melt in his bosom. She shook her head, removing those thoughts from her head.

As if he had been listening to her, he pulled her in a hug.

"You need a hug, I know you've been through a lot, God knows what you went through when you saw them together."

She closed her eyes and held him tighter, practically melting his bosom, he felt so cozy, so warm, she inhaled his colonge.

"I really need this," she whispered.

He gently patted her back, "That's not a problem, you can stay here for as long as you want, I ain't in a hurry."

"Thank you so much, you've been so kind to me this evening."

He smiled and caressed her hair, "Sure, you're welcome," he kept caressing her hair.

There was silence for a while and he coughed softly, "You seem quite comfy down there, hehe, you don't wanna let go?"

"Nuh-uh."

He chuckled, "Uh.. Nora?"

She creased her brows and looked up, "You know my name?"

"Yup," he smirked.

She disengaged from the hug and looked at him with squinted eyes.

"How?"

"Well, I just happen to know it," he shrugged, "Anything wrong with that?"

She blinked, "But how? It's not as if I'm carrying my card or badge."

He held his head, "Uh.. I have my ways, and I'm not ready to disclose it yet."

"Hmm," she squinted them even more.

He laughed, "You don't have to be so suspicious, you're in safe hands, don't worry, I'm not some kinda thug who's after you."

"Tch, you look too decent and handsome to be a thug," she blurted then realised her words.

His eyes went drowsy for a minute, "Mmh mmh?"

She felt embarrassed and looked away, "Forget I said that."

"Oh? I heard it, from you," he grinned.

"Ugh!"

"Don't try to act all cold again, be nice," he patted her head.

"Well, fine!"

"Back to what I wanted to say," he laughed nervously.

"What did you want to say?"

For the first time since their conversation began, his cheeks redenned.

She arched her brow, "Uhh.."

"Well, you plan on divorcing your husband right?"

She rubbed her arm nervously, "I.. I.. think so."

"You should divorce him, you shouldn't be with him."

She nodded, "Yeah- I think you're right. I will file for a divorce."

He breathed a sigh of relief, "Will you marry me?"

She shot her head backwards, "What?"

"I- I love you."

Her jaws dropped, "Wh- what are you saying?"

He rubbed his neck nervously, "I- love you."

Her heart was now racing, she was unsure of what to say to him.

"We- we just met.. about an hour ago."

His cheeks redenned the more, "I've always loved you Nora," he said quietly.

"Do you know me?"

A corner of his lips went up, "Nora Winchester who later became Nora Robinwood," when he mentioned 'Robinwood', he rolled his eyes, "And soon will be called by my last name," his eyes sparkled.

Her jaws were still dropped, she barely knew who he was and he was talking of marriage?

"But.. I don't know you. Who are you?"

"I don't think it's important to know who I am.. at least for now."

He held her hand and placed it on his chest, "Feel how my heart beats for you, every single day, every hour, every minute, every single second."

Her hands trembled.

"I love you.. so much.. I want you to be with me forever."

Her eyes darted and she felt dizzy.

She didn't know what to say at this point, she just stared.

"I.. don't know.. how.. I just.."

"Just stay with me," his eyes looked so sincere, he pulled her closer till they was barely space between them.

"I love you so much," he said softly, leaned forward and captured her lips in a kiss.
