Max is a middle-aged man who lives a routine and dull life. He always felt like he was missing something in his life, but he didn't know exactly what. He works a boring office job, and spends most of his time alone in his small apartment.
One day, while returning from work, he sees a strange book lying on the ground in a dark alley. The book is bound in black paint and looks old and neglected. Out of curiosity, Max decides to take the book with him.
When he opens the book in his home, he finds that it is not just an ordinary book, but an ancient manuscript containing mysterious rituals and spells. As soon as he reads a few words out loud, Max feels a mysterious energy spreading through his body.
The next moment, he becomes extremely dizzy and collapses to the ground. When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself in a completely different place – and he has gained superpowers that he cannot yet control. From here, Max's journey begins to discover these new powers and deal with their consequences.
