[Astronomy]
"One thing that has been studied since the early times of civilization is the stars that you see in the night sky."
A skinny, tall man wearing round glasses spoke as he extended his hand and picked up a crystal clear sphere.
He was wearing a turtleneck with brown hair and brown eyes as he placed the sphere on his table and put his index finger on it.
"As time went on, the early humans discovered that some stars are always in the same group or form. Those group of stars were called the constellation."
Whoosh
Passing a little of his mana onto the crystal clear sphere,
Swoop
It sucked in all the light of the class as the class became dark like the sky.
Twinkle Twinkle
Right after the class darkened, a total of seven little lights imitating the stars in the sky glowed as they took on a certain form.
"This one is called Orion."
The teacher said as a dim line extended from the lights and connected each other in a specific pattern.
"This is how Orion is drawn out. Their names are not something we living beings gave them… It is something they themselves shared with us." He explained as he raised his head and looked at the cadets, to whom he was explaining all this time.
Tap
Tapping the crystal sphere again, the light it had sucked in got spit out as the class became bright again.
Swoop
"As people started studying the constellations, they learned that constellations aren't just merely a grouped up stars… but a sort of extraterrestrial entities… a semi-god, to be precise."
He said as he put the crystal clear sphere back on the desk and looked through the other items.
"As you know, gods are to be worshipped. And constellations, being semi-gods, are also worshipped."
He said as his eyes fell on a paper.
"Unlike gods, however, constellations feel extremely happy when being worshipped, so as to encourage humans or any living beings to keep on worshipping them, they share a part of their power with the worshipper."
"There are a total of 88 constellations who have made their presence known until now. And there are exactly 88 cults who worship each of these constellations." He said as he raised the paper and showed it to the cadets.
"Worshipping constellations is done in many ways; one of them is drawing out their image on a paper like this and offering things that the constellation likes on a daily basis." He said as he spun the paper around to show the image of Orion drawn on it.
After finishing showing the paper, he put it down as he gave the cadets a small smile and opened his mouth.
"That's it for the trial class."
He said with a gentle voice as he looked around the cadets, who were either focusing or barely stopping themselves from sleeping.
"You can now exit the class. I hope you take interest in astronomy and decide to choose the subject." He said as he nodded his head and pointed his hand at the door.
The cadets stood up and slowly left the class as the professor started calmly arranging the things placed in the desks.
'So, not all teachers are sour and fierce.' Aiden thought as he also stood up and slowly started walking towards the exit, glancing at the professor from the corner of his eye from time to time.
'The teachers seem to be a character of their own. All unique probably.' Eden said.
'So, are you going to choose this subject? You can increase your power source by worshipping powerful constellations.' Eden said.
'…'
Aiden fell into a train of thought as he scratched his head.
'I don't know. Let's check out how the other subjects are.' Aiden replied as he walked out of the door.
After some cadets left the class, a cadet, a girl with black braided hair and a round face, also walked out.
Yawn~
'I should stop my habit of falling asleep every time I find a comfortable place.' She thought as she stretched her body and yawned.
'Hmm?'
As she stretched her body, her black, round eyes fell on one of the cadets.
Staring at the cadet, who was walking several distances in front, she raised her thin eyebrows.
'…Two souls?'
She thought as she kept on walking.
'How's tha-'
Thump
"Ugh."
As she was lost in her thoughts, she felt a push from behind as her body jumped forward.
Kekeke
"Oh god. Sorry, I forgot how weak you were and could get thrown by a slight tap."
Kekeke
Three girls, who were originally walking behind her, said as they laughed at the girl. A girl with brown bob hair and tall height, the one who pushed, stood there as she looked down on the girl.
"…"
The girl turned towards them as she just stared at them.
"Do you have something to say? Cannon fodder." The bob-haired girl said as she openly mocked the girl. She had an arrogant smirk on her face when looking at the girl.
It was as if she was hundred percent confident that the girl was powerless.
…Sigh
The girl just stared at them until she sighed and decided to walk away.
"Did you see that? Hahahaha."
After she walked out, the girls started laughing vigorously as they made fun of her.
…
'Which class are you going to visit now?'
Eden suddenly asked when Aiden was silently walking through the hallway along with other cadets.
'…That class.'
He replied as he turned toward a different empty hallway that had a door at its end.
[Summons]
'I will ask, Do you think what you are thinking will work?' Eden asked as he stared at the board with 'Summons' written on it.
'I don't know. I can only hope it does.' Aiden replied as he walked forward, passing through the door.
KOFF KOFF KOFF
As soon as he walked in, he heard loud coughing noises as he quickly raised his guard and took some steps back.
'…What was that?' He thought.
Looking forward, he saw a person lay on the teacher's table like a dead body as he frowned.
'That should be… the teacher.' Eden said as Aiden turned his head and looked to see if there were any cadets.
'Huh? There's no one here.' Aiden thought as it came as a surprise to him.
'…Why?' He found it strange that there were no cadets here since a class was usually always full of them.
KOFF KOFF
'She is coughing again.'
Aiden thought as he strangely looked at the woman, who was lying on her desk.
'She doesn't really look like a teacher to me.' Eden said as the person wore an entirely different outfit than the teachers they have met until now.
'She seems sick… What should I do?' He asked as he frowned. What kind of situation was this?
'…Your hand is already full of searching for Leo and getting stronger. It seems there is no use of you being here; why not just turn a blind eye and act like you didn't see her?' Eden said as he put his hand on his chin.
'…Fair poi-
KOFF KOFF
'…Ugh. She is coughing like she is about to die. I will just hand over this potion and quietly walk away.'
Aiden said as he took out a small healing potion from the spatial ring and walked towards her.
'Yeah. That also works.' Eden said as he shrugged. It would have been more weird if he had left and later that person was found dead.
Tak Tak
Walking towards her, Aiden only focused on putting the potion beside her until,
'Huh?'
As he was walking forward, the person on the desk was no longer there, as she suddenly disappeared.
'What?'
Tap
Suddenly feeling a tap on his shoulder from behind, Aiden could barely react.
"Finally a cadet in my class."
