'Woah…'
Being one of the cadets who experienced her command, Aiden felt a chill running through his entire body as he made sure to not even utter a word.
The entire class became as silent as night as the lady, Larsha Lamp, looked around the class.
"That's more like it." She said as she picked up a yellow book from the desk and opened it.
"I will be taking your attendance; when I call your name, you raise your hand and say present. Got that?" She said it with a cold tone as everyone nodded their heads.
"Max Lenon."
"…Present."
She started to call out the names one by one as everyone silently waited for their name to be called.
Aiden waited until his turn as he observed the cadets raise their hands one by one.
'…Don't tell me?'
Aiden thought as he realized something.
The names were being called according to the ranks, from the highest in the class to the lowest.
'That's how it usually is.' Eden said as Aiden frowned.
'I didn't know.' He thought.
"Aron Belur."
'…'
Feeling dissociated with the name that was being called to him, Aiden rose his head.
"Present."
He said as he looked forward.
'…Huh.'
"Ok. Now that the attendance is done. Everyone, take out your blue card."
Closing the attendance book, the lady said.
'…W-was she glaring at me?'
Aiden thought as he listened to her command and took out the blue card.
'Was she?' Eden said as he raised his body from the bed and sat at the chair.
'I-I don't know. It may have been because she was calling out the name.' He said as he raised his head and took out the blue card.
"Now that everyone has taken out their blue card, let me explain some things. I will be only explaining it once, so listen carefully." She said as everyone listened to her carefully as if their lives depended on it.
"You will be learning and training in the ground of this university for three years now. As you progress through the semesters, you will be provided with more choices with the lessons and academy's facility." She said.
"In this semester, your first semester, you are allowed to choose up to three subjects that you want to study. As you move up, the number of subjects you are allowed to choose increases."
She said as she looked around, observing their posture and expression.
'Have you decided what subjects you are going to choose?' Eden asked as Aiden frowned.
'I haven't decided on the third subject yet.' Aiden thought.
Right after getting to the academy, he had researched everything he needed to know.
Snap
Suddenly snapping her fingers, everyone in the class was taken by surprise as the blue cards that they were holding suddenly got away from their hand and started floating in front of them.
"Now that you know that you have three subjects to choose, select the ones you want. You must have visited testing classes this last week. Circle the ones you want to choose." She said as the blue cards expanded to a tab that had every name of the subjects written on it.
Tap Tap Tap…
It seemed that most of the cadets had already decided on which classes to choose as they chose their subjects.
As soon as they did, the tab formed a text bubble asking if it was their final decision, to which only half of them answered yes.
Right after confirming their choices, the blue cards flew towards the lady's desk and stacked upon one another.
'Hmm. What are you going to choose as your third subject?'
Eden, sitting at the chair, said as he looked at the tab that was floating in front.
'…I don't know yet.' Aiden thought as he looked at the tab.
On the tab, there were many subjects listed in alphabetical order.

The sheer number of subjects had Aiden nauseous as he had trouble finding out the ones he had decided on.
Out of all the options, two subjects had red circles on it.
[Sword art]
[Magic & Mage]
'These two are obvious since they synergize with the sword master title and my trait as an energy beast.' Aiden said as Eden nodded his head.
'And what about those three?'
He said as he pointed at the three subjects that had blue circles on them.
'I want one of these three to be my third subject.'
Aiden said as he looked forward.
There were still many cadets who were not able to make a decision as they sat there hesitantly staring at the tablet.
"Sigh. I knew this would happen."
The lady, sighing out in annoyance, made sure that everyone heard her as she raised her hand and snapped her fingers.
Whoosh
As soon as she snapped her fingers, all the remaining blue cards flew towards her as they all formed a separate stack on her desk.
"The cadets who have finished selecting their subjects, your classes will start two hours from now. Until then, you are to sit here and listen to my lectures." She said as she took out the chair that was inside the desk and sat on it.
"As for the cadets who still haven't decided on all of their subjects, come down here when I call your name." She said as she took out the blue card that was on top of the stacked cards.
"Aron Belur."
She called out the name as everyone instantly focused on her, interested by the name.
'Ugh. Why am I the first student to be called?'
Aiden felt wronged as he quietly stood up from his seat and started walking down.
His seat was located at the very back of the class, so, naturally, he found the walk very long as he could feel everyone's judgy eyes staring a hole in him.
Clenching his fists, he walked through the hurdles as he reached in front of the lady and stood in front of the desk.
"Ma'am."
He said as the lady looked at him and frowned.
"No. Call me Miss Lamp." She said as Aiden flinched by how sour she sounded as he nodded his head.
'What is this hag's deal?' Eden said.
Miss Lamp went through Aiden's blue card as she looked at the subjects that had red circles on them.
"So, you have decided to take sword art class." She said it as if she had already guessed as Aiden nodded his head.
Tsk Tsk
"Yes." He said as Miss Lamp nodded her head and looked at the other subject that had a red circle on it.
"…Hmm?"
Looking at the subject, Miss Lamp frowned as she raised her head and looked at Aiden right in the eyes.
"Why Magic and Mage?" She asked with a chilling voice, striking Aiden on the spot like a hammer.
He froze as he tried to process what happened.
Her voice crept inside Aiden's ears like tree roots spreading on the ground, digging right into his brain… sounding extremely critique.
Her tone also froze the whole class as it became dead silent for a moment.
…Snicker Snicker
The dead silence soon turned into a surge of mocking snicker from the cadets trying to not laugh out loudly in front of Miss Lamp.
This little act of theirs was for one obvious reason.
'Does he even have any mana in that weak body?'
