Brrrr
The ground shook.
'Wake up, wake up! There's more coming!'
Eden shouted with panic as he warned Aiden of the incoming attack.
'Now that I think about it clearly, did I even have a chance at winning?'
Aiden thought as he looked at the incoming black hand with his blurry vision.
Boom
Before he could even save himself, the black hand had already hit him as his body was sent flying.
'Argh. That hurt.' Aiden groaned in pain as he looked at the several more incoming black hands.
'What even are they?' He thought as he tried to position himself on the ground.
Whoosh
But the hands didn't seem to allow him.
'Tch. Does this tyrant even know what mercy is?' Eden said this in annoyance as he tried to help Aiden in any way he could.
[Reflection]
Thump
Summoning a shield behind him, Aiden stopped himself from flying backwards and immediately started running.
'Stop this crazy shit.' Eden said in frustation as Aiden was again running towards Enel.
Bam Bam Bam Bam
The hands constantly hit him, but he barely dodged them and kept running.
'You think just dodging will work? This guy is definitely going easy for now.' Aiden said as he looked at Enel, who was just standing at his initial place without any difficulty or even a sweat on his face.
'And don't worry. I'm going to use the items that I talked about.' Aiden said as he moved right to dodge a hand coming from the front.
Bam
But unfortunately for him, just as he moved to the right, another hand hit him from the back.
"Argh." Aiden groaned as his body jumped forward from the impact.
'THAT HURT!!!' He frustratingly screamed within as he looked at Enel with a little tear in his eye.
'This guy.'
The hands were still there, attacking him from various angles.
Bam Bam Bam
Just as Aiden positioned himself from the previous attack, more hands, taking the opportunity, jumped in as they furiously attacked.
All of them were coming from the front, as if they were grouped to instantly take him out.
'Now!'
Swoosh
As the hands were coming towards him, he lowered his body a little to slightly hide himself from Enel.
Instantly putting his hands in his pocket, he took out a small black ball.
He swiftly jumped to the right again as he looked towards Enel.
'Remember what you did that time.'
He thought this as the hand he was holding the black ball with, was being surrounded by wind.
At this moment, Aiden was very thankful to Louis for teaching him about mana and magic.
He threw the ball directly towards Enel, using all his might.
'Please work.'
Swoosh
As the ball left his hand, the wind that was also there boosted its speed to the maximum as it instantly reached in front of Enel.
Bam
'He blocked it!'
Eden said in frustation.
With a black hand in front of him, Enel didn't make much effort in simply catching the ball.
'No. It's the best.'
Aiden smirked as he landed on the ground.
Fwoosh
A sudden explosion occurred on the hand, making Enel raise his brows a little.
White smoke started leaking out of the black hand as it furiously started covering the whole area.
Even with the smoke, Enel didn't seem to care much as he moved the black hands to attack Aiden.
Bam Bam Bam
'Onto the smoke.'
Aiden swiftly dodged the hands as he jumped into the smoke.
'This should buy us some time.' Aiden thought as he activated some of his own skills.
[Energy eyes activated!]
[Energy sense activated!]
"Agh."
As soon as he activated his skills, he felt a toll take on his head as he groaned in pain.
'This is scary.' Aiden thought as he looked around.
His black pupil had turned gray due to the skill [Energy eyes].
'Thank God I practiced them a little.' Aiden thought as a drop of sweat fell from his face.
[Energy eyes
Description: There is more to one than meets the naked eye. Look at the different types of energies in your surroundings.]
[Energy sense
Description: You can sense the energies that are around you.]
'T-there he is.'
Aiden thought as he looked in a certain direction.
'Damn, his aura…' Eden, who could also see what Aiden was seeing, commented as they looked at a huge silhouette towering over them.
It was very humongous, making Aiden shiver in fear.
'I have a chance, right?' Aiden started doubting himself as an eminent fear arose in his heart.
'Calm down.'
As he was doubting himself, a stern voice resounded through out his head as he finally came back to sense.
'Haven't you noticed it yet?' Eden said.
'What?' Aiden asked as he kept his body lowered.
'Those hands aren't attacking anymore.' Eden said as Aiden's gray pupils shone.
'…You're right… Did we do it?' Aiden questioned him as he looked around.
There indeed weren't any hands around them. It was silent and motionless inside the smoke.
'…Why is he not doing anything?' Aiden thought as he frowned and looked at Enel.
His not doing anything and standing still was even more scary than before.
'Don't worry. Just focus on what you are doing and waste as much time as you can. Remember, we were to survive for five minutes only.' Eden said, but despite how comforting he sounded, he was also frowning as he had a bad feeling.
'…Ok.' Aiden took it positively as he slowly started walking around.
Srrr
Quietly digging on the ground, Aiden buried something there and moved on to another place to do the same.
'What are you burying?' Eden asked as he curiously looked at what Aiden was burying.
'It's the other item that I talked about. This probably won't work since this isn't exactly why I asked for it, but I have to make it work.' Aiden said as he successfully buried the item on the ground.
'One more to go.' Aiden thought as he looked around.
"Window. Do you know how much time has passed?" He muttered.
Ding
…
"Three minutes and 46 seconds…" Looking at the clock, Louis muttered as he supervised the exam taking place right in front of him.
'I'm surprised the young master is still faring against him for this long.' He thought as he looked at the big, white smoke.
'I wonder what they are doing… It's so… quiet.' He thought as he frequently looked at the clock and up front.
SHRING
'Huh?'
Suddenly feeling a huge shiver running down his spine, Louis jotted his head above.
'…H-how c-could he?'
The whole garden was still, and the air suddenly became stiff as Louis looked at the thing above in disbelief.
'He surely wouldn't do that, right?' Louis thought as he wondered if this was even fair.
Looking above, a huge black magic circle was rotating as strands of black hue were emitting from it.
'I-is this really fair? It's like making an ant fight against a dragon.' Louis thought gravely as he looked at the black magic circle.
He had thought of many things that the city lord could have done to stop his son, but, this cruel thing wasn't one of them.
This was inhuman.
'Young master must have sensed it, right? Young master, please run away; this isn't something you can handle.' Louis clasped his hands together as he prayed for the safety of the young master.
No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't interrupt the exam yet.
"…Four minutes. Just one minut-."
BOOM
