Kaidën's eyes fluttered open, his heart racing like a wild animal. He was drenched in sweat, his sheets tangled around his legs. It was just a dream, he told himself. But the memory of it lingered, refusing to be shaken off.
In his dream, he had seen a world unlike any he had ever known. Towering trees with trunks as wide as houses stretched towards the sky, their leaves shimmering with an otherworldly glow. Creatures moved through the shadows, their eyes gleaming with an unnatural intelligence.
And then, there was the symbol. Etched into his chest, pulsing with a soft blue light. It seemed to be a part of him, yet he knew it wasn't.
Kaidën rubbed his eyes, trying to clear the haze from his mind. What did it mean? And why did he feel an inexplicable pull to a world he had never seen before?
