Chereads / The Tale of Thadius / Chapter 5 - The ceremony

Chapter 5 - The ceremony

On the awakening platform there were almost hundred kids all of them were around six years old. Thadius was also among them, a little excited contracting to his normal mood since today was a very important day for him and all the other kids.

The awakening ceremony used a pillar made of alzord stones which had special property of awakening the latent talent in a child's body without side effects. The awakened meridians could be elemental, weaponry, combative, support or attributeless. There were also mix meridians but they were considered lower grade than pure meridians while mutated meridians were considered good sometimes better than single attribute meridians. Though meridians could not determine everything they were still a starting mark of potential.

The elders and relatives of the kids were on the viewing platform watching the kids of their clan anticipating the rise of good talents especially now since the Leone clan's young Saint awakened the tribulation meridians which was one of the rarest meridians. The clan head thinking of this sighed, even though his son has pure sword meridians but they fell short compared to tribulation meridians.

Everytime someone wants to advance in rank and open the next meridians heavens will make them undergo tribulation. Each meridian has thirty accupoints. Once someone accessed twenty accupoints they can try to open the next meridian and though it was not a necessity only by accessing all thirty meridians could one have a solid foundation and less accupoint opening meant a shaky foundation and depletion of future potential.

Those with tribulation meridians can move forward without bottlenecks and advance smoothly without worrying about the tribulation and though the minor world does not allow anyone with more than eight open meridians to exist and for further breakthrough they have to leave for the major worlds but this also means the Leone clan with have someone in the eighth meridian as long as he does not die prematurely. While such thoughts were taking place in all the clan elders head's the ceremony had started.

The kids on the platform were waiting nervously for their turns and moving in a line and putting their hand on the pillar wanting to see which meridian they would open.

Most of them opened mix meridians which might give them versitility but will limit their future. Some awakened dual attribute meridians which were considered quite good in other clans but for the Ma clan single meridians were the benchmark of a chosen.

Finally it was Thadius's turn and he placed his hand on the pillar with some nervousness and what he got were the resonance ice meridians which were considered quite good since resonance and ice were both mutated meridians but what got the everyone surprised was that Thadius had a battle heart. Maximus was very happy with the result and started laughing and the others also considered Thadius a young saint prospect only based on the battle heart. Battle heart belonged to the highest class of auxiliary attributes and even though it had no combative power of its own it's one attribute was that when the person enters battle mode he will feal no fear and will always be in peak form unaffected by external links. Thadius also knew about this and was content with his talent.

The ceremony ended after sometime and there were two single attribute meridians, Thadius with his mutated meridians and twelve others with dual meridians which was considered a good batch by the clan leaders.

Thadius and his family had a small celebration with Thadius's little sister giggling and his parents happily chatting . Elius Ma was the newest addition to the family only two years old but a ball of energy and quite stubborn since both her brother and her father spoiled her and she was scared of nobody except her mother who was more strict with her.

Thadius also cherished there moments with his family but knew from now he had to train and not slack off. Though he had no interest in beng the young saint Thadius didn't like being told what to do and he knew only by having enough strength could he be free and unbothered just like his father who wasn't the clan head but even the head couldn't boss him around
