Chapter 4 - Lmemore

He sitting in front of the hospital that is built from cichel stone. The architecture here is a mix of Victorian and medieval places. The place felt like someone putting the house at random and hoping it would fit together.

The building here was compact leaving only the main road and a few alleys left to travel between. John could see a wagon led by a horse traveling left and right passing by him.

The air is thick with light smoke. Evidently from the chimney of an industrial zone far in the distance.

Lmemore, the capital of the Eyre empire

Situated on land with an enormous river that flows through the city. The most developed region on this side of the world.

John couldn't help but glance at the big river that runs through the city. Lmemore has relied on the Ramos River for its survival. Shipping things over the land by sea. Seeing a ship pass by is a magical feeling. Its white sail flutters in the air while the wooden hull cuts through the water.

"Quite beautiful right?"

"Yeah," John agrees. But inside he was still in turmoil thinking about how to survive here.

"It's the only thing that this city got right. Well, the food is pretty good too." The maid-servant rested her hand in front of her in a standing position. overlooking John who was leaning on the stone wall to get a better look for the ship.

"So, when are you gonna leave?"

"The lord hasn't dismissed me yet"

That's troublesome

John is pretty sure that in the original Reeva got dropped off into the streets with no money and a servant. The story is starting to shift. And that would be rather troublesome for John.

His greatest weapon right now is information about the future. The more he changes the less he know. And the higher the chance he would get killed.

The world of a divine twig could not be underestimated, it was filled to the brim with monsters and world-ending threats... He wouldn't want to be facing any of them.

" What is your job?"

"To serve the young master."

"Name?"

"Hilda"

Looking at the ship passing by, John starts to think about his next move. This world was the world setting for [The Legend of Divine Twig], which is a rather straightforward power fantasy novel. The first act all plays out inside a wall of Lmemore.

And a huge chunk of it is in the Lmemore Royal Academy.

Where a wide range of students were housed at the Academy. The bulk of them were of noble descent, and the others were just regular folks with little to no power but got in because of their skill. But there's also a power user training program at the academy.

They're called Mystic.

Mixed in with normal students who have different schedules than them. The narrative would center around Klad and 4 students that he met there.

The story was still in its early stages, especially since Reeva was beaten up. Thus, it is likely that this main character will only be somewhat powerful. As long as he is in the academy, keeping an eye on him would be simple.

But, that would only be true if John was still in the academy. The academy punished him severely for making a mess on school property, but the duke was the main cause of his expulsion.

Getting disowned from the house Antores was kind of a big problem. As a result, his family would not support him and cover his tuition, moreover, he lacks the mystic power to maintain his status as a mystic student.

Leaving him with just a hundred stac and a maidservant.

"What circles are you?"

"3rd"

Oh wow... He thought,

The power of a mystic user is measured by the number of their circle. And 3 is definitely high for a maidservant. The Duke was not skimming out on protecting his son. Most household would sacrifice their entire earning for a useful 3rd circle mystic but there's one right at John's command. He was sure to use her...

Back to the topic of moving forward, John created a checklist for what he needed to do. It's roughly translated into gaining money and monitoring the MC.

He was not that interested in gaining power.... the power system for the divine Twig novel was a pain in the ass to upgrade. Reaching godhood for him would be impossible with this starting point.

In the original book, the way to fix his broken circle is to consume a high-tier potion. He knew the name of the village but didn't know where it was. Its first appearance was in the second arc where Klad was fighting a demon cult and came across it in the village.

The chance of John getting his hand on that is lower than getting hit by lighting. So he needed something different.

Another way is to form a Heretic circle. In this world, there were two types of foundation power, one of the circle and one of the star. With the circle being more stable and the star giving out worse side effects. However, the star could be powered by human blood to reach a higher circle faster.

Forming a star ran the risk of getting torched to death by the Sun church. They with the sun torch control eighty percent of this continent. However, that's miles better than hoping that he would run into a doctor that he didn't even know the name of.

Or he could just do nothing and let the story play out. He's an extra anyway and the story would not be interrupted if he left the MC. Then he would just be off somewhere chilling with money and supporting the Mc if something goes wrong...

That would work, right?

He had this feeling that something might go wrong. The last chapter of the book was a blank page and the chapter before is Klad trying to hold up the world.

There might be a slight chance that he lost. That the world would end. But there's no need to think about that for now.

At the moment was the time to enjoy being in the world. John got up from watching the boat and walked toward a city. The maid followed right behind without saying a word. The sound of passersby stepping on the stone road made for a chaotic symphony that is oddly soothing to listen to.

After walking past dozens of buildings and viewing the passing people the silence broke between the maid and her master.

"Where are we going, master?"

"To enjoy some food"

The master answered with a smile on his face.
