Reeva struggled to keep his mind intact as every sensation became increasingly painful. He rolled his body, trying to move away, but Dilan gently held him up with a firm hand.
"We have all gone through this," Dilan murmured. "Please bear the weight of our god. It will be over soon, once he descends to this plane."

Reeva couldn't speak, he was still wrestling with the turmoil inside his mind. From the moment the "god" had touched him, it felt as if a spell had enveloped his thoughts. Such power was possible for a high-circle mystic, capable of creating their own domain of influence.
