Chapter VII Ritual Sacrifice to Survive
Paris
The UIU soldiers squad continues on heading to the GIGN location. Amidst the burned buildings they spotted a serpent's hand group with a girl tied up on a pole.
The UIU captain immediately speak, "Halt...! stay here, let's watch these people first before we make a move…". They hide behind a rubble and stealthly monitor the serpent's hand activity from afar.
A serpent's hand soldier pulls out a dagger and prepares to do something that the UIU soldiers didn't expect.
The serpent's hand soldier slowly 'delicately' peel the girl's limbs, the UIU soldiers stares in shock but kept their mouth shut.
They really wanted to help the poor girl but they realized they are outnumbered. They couldn't do anything helpful and is forced to watch the act.
The girl pleads with a shriek, "Plea-please! just end this. I can't take it! It's very painful!!"
But the serpent's hand soldier ignores her plead and keeps doing it very slowly, right arm, left arm, foot, calf, thigh, he just keeps skinning her alive. Then the Serpent's Hand soldier rips open the girl's digestive system and pulls out her intestine.
The serpent-hand soldier stands up after all of that and stares at the girl's face who is dead now because she ran out of blood.
The Serpent's hand group lifts their arm and form a praying gesture. They the pray for something that the UIU group don't know. And after a few moments, they simply left and let the girl's dead body still tied up on the pole.
After the Serpent's Hand group left the scene, The UIU Squad quickly came out from their hiding positions and approached the girl's dead body, they looked at the girl's face, which it is freckled forever frozen with an expression of fear and agony.
The UIU squad, terrified seeing this poor girl's body, some of them vomited and some of them felt guilty that they should have helped the girl before, but remembered that they were outnumbered by the enemy.
The UIU squad leader, Sergeant Parker spoke out to calm down the situation.
"Everyone, stay calm, I know we can't rescue this girl but let's give her a proper burial before we proceed our mission".
The soldiers nod in agreement and took the girl's body to a park under the Eiffel Tower, they dug a grave for the girl, then buried her.
They gave their last salute to the girl's grave and immediately continue to their mission finding any civilians before their fate ends up the same as the girl's.
They continue moving forward for more about 4 hours. Finally, they found a group of civilians who armed themselves with Double-barrel shotguns inside an apartment.
In an instant, the UIU captain spoke to the civilian's leader
"Don't shoot, don't shoot, we are rescuers, we are here to rescue you out of this place".
The civilian group leader immediately lowers his gun and approaches the sergeant
"FBI? Didn't expect the Federal Police to be involved"
"ye-yeah but we are different from the federal police, what is your name sir?".
The leader, who looks like 75 years old chuckled and said to Sergeant Parker.
"My name is Wyaat Purvoir, but you can call me Wyaat, I'm a retired police officer, now I am working in my farm".
Sergeant Parker greets Officer Wyaat.
"Nice to meet you, Officer Wyaat".
"Oh come on, I'm retired from being a police officer".
They felt better after what had happened to the girl before. Sergeant Parker grabs his Walkie-talkie and tries to contact Captain Hector Stark.
"Sir, we found civilians here, how about you cap?"
Captain Hector Stark didn't respond.
Sergeant Parker felt odd about Captain Hector not responding to the radio.
"Cap, do you copy?!"
But still, no responds whatsoever. Sergeant Parker asks his men to check on the radio freuquncy if there are any peculiarities. But nothing's wrong with the radio.
"There's nothing wrong with the frequency, sir"
Sergeant Parker tries to contact Captain Spark again.
"Captain, can you answer me?!"
It's all white noises.

Bravo Squad
After they were separated from Alpha Squad, they entered deeper into the hotel's basements that's also connected to the Catacombs.
"you know... I've never really expected we would enter the famous Catacombs of Paris," Captain Hector said.
They entered into the catacombs to retrieve civilians detected from the assigned location by GIGN, but they faced problems with the Catacomb's entrance that blocked the entrance.
"Shit... we may need to break this wall to proceed…"
They inspect the Catacombs to see if there's something that may be able to smash the entrance.
They noticed a Hammer lodged on the wall next to it.
"Well then, let's pull out this bad boy and break this wall"
The toughest soldier attempts to pull out the hammer, he tries to pull it out but it's very much glued to the wall, so they all worked together to make space for the hammer so it can be pulled out. Finally, managed to pull the hammer out from the wall.
The toughest one is the one to break the wall since he have big muscles. but it won't be a breeze to break the wall. He take aim, and lunge forward swinging the hammer to the wall. It only left a small scratch on the wall, but the soldier isn't giving up already. He takes aim again, and swung it putting all his power to the hammer.
Finally the wall breaks down and the entrance is wide open.
"hell yeah!"
After they break the wall, they entered the catacomb and continue deeper to the GIGN position. But they encounter something that they didn't expect.
"What the hell?" Captain Hector spoke
"It looks like a bone of human anatomy sir," The Medic said clearly as he inspected it
"I know it's called a cadaver idiot!" Captain Hector said
Captain Hector looks at the bones and speak
"This bone looks like it's not that aged yet. Can you confirm it?" Captain Hector asks the Medic
"Just from my inspection, it was probably already dead a few days ago. But what kind of monster would eat his meat and leave the bones" The medic looks dumbfounded.
"Yeah, maybe it decayed early? huh?" Captain Hector replies with a bit of anger.
"Sir you don't understand, this is nothing like a normal decaying process sir, normally even if it's under the dirt it would take abou..."
"Shush it, let's move on!"
The medic shows a little sign of furious in him, but he keep himself collected and not escalate this small problem too much.
A few minutes pass by. Captain Hector contact Sergeant Louis to check conditions and location.
"Sergeant Louis, this is Captain Hector, I'm inside the Catacombs like you said, Where are you?"
But it's just silence, a slight pause before Sargent Louis responded.
"Ah, Cap, we are in the Center Of the Catacombs"
"Roger, we will move there immediately, wait for us"
They all rush to go to the Center of The Catacombs
They arrived at the center of the Catacombs, but only found nothing, Only a well in the center, with a French marine dead dody hanging off in the edge of the well.
The medic checks the Marine's body but the Marine's face has been ripped out by something.
"His face is gone, like it has been ripped out from the Body by face, it was not by a human being"
"Can you stop with stating facts doc?!" Captain Hector irritably shouted.
Suddenly The Marine awakens and attacks the medic like a zombie but Captain Hector immediately shoots it before it got a chance to took a single touch to the Medic.
"Jesus Christ, what the fuck is that, a zombie or what??"
The medic immediately checks and confirms it's an Undead.
"I can't believe this, but where is Sergeant Louis, we can't find him at all" Captain Hector spoke confusedly.
The medic threw the Dead body into the well to make sure that the creature isn't going back up again.
"It's just a barren room, something bad has happened to them. Command said, if we feel it's too dangerous, we must prioritize our own life," The Medic said to Captain Hector
"Yeah, you're right, let's return and regroup with Sergeant Parker"
They walk back to their previous path, but on the way, they heared something from their back, when they all looked behind, they were all shock to find plenty more undeads are heading towards them.
"SHIT!" One of the soldiers shouted and pulled out a shield to back them off, while others helped by shooting the undead. When the undeads are all "dead", Captain Hector noticed that one of the undead is Sergeant Louis.
"Something happened to him… I'm sorry Louis, I can't bring you back home…"
They ran back to their entrance before all of a sudden it blows up and they are all stuck inside
"shit!"
As That Happens, a crowd of undeads starts to rise from the horizon, running towards them ready to rip them like others.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"
Back to present
Sergeant Parker didn't receive a single information from Captain Hector, he started to get worry.
"I don't know if he is still alive at this point" As he said that
The Radio Operator on the Alpha team speaks
"We must evacuate, sir, our purpose here is to rescue civilians however if it's too dangerous, we must prioritize our own life sake".
Sergeant Parker still worries but remembers his mission to rescue civilians or leave the area immediately.
"All alright then, let's leave this area"
They all go to the extraction point using Officer Wyaat's Truck. While riding on the truck, they all gazed upon the ruined and burned building surrounding them. Nothing green around and all just desaturated.
"You know… I've never seen a field this beautiful" The Radio Operator spoke as they passed the Field to the extraction point.
They arrive at the extraction point and a rescue helicopter picks them up, one at a time, they jump of the truck and mount the heli. Unfortunately they have to leave Wyatt's truck.
They all enter the helicopter and as they leave they see the city one last time before it get demolish by a missiles.
"I hope Captain Hector is alright somewhere… somehow," Sergeant Parker said as the helicopter flew away.
A few days later
June 15th 2028
The GOC headquarter got struckted by a severe outbreak of an unknown virus that was unleashed by Serpent's Hand, but they managed to eradicate all of the infected and secure the area.
With those successful rehabilitation, it comes with a cost of damage to their finance by 75% out of their entire budget. All that only to stop the infection.
Director Joshua struggles to keep the finance stable as they only have 5% of their budget left, not enough to keep on their offense on the battlefield with Serpent's Hand. They almost faced bankruptcy due to maintaining their soldiers health.
With these conditions they face, they are in a lot of pressure, and a Budget deficit by their stocks start to become useless, some Director And Vice Director suggest to loan the money but they can't anymore as they reached the limit before bankruptcy Because some Sector are Corrupted, council 108 given permission to Joshua to remodel and clean up the corrupt in their offices and take assets they can still sell for additional budget to support this Warfare.
