Damien Atlas, a 40 year old bachelor, sat at his desk, in his cubical, on the 9th floor of the building belonging to Home Security
Technologies, the company he slaved for . . . worked for. "IT Specialist" was the title given to him by the company. Damien was stuck in
a bad job, that paid him barely enough to pay for his piece of junk car and 4th floor walk up studio apartment in a bad part of the city. He was a eternal bachelor because as his last girlfriend said when she broke up with him, she said he wasn't marriage material, no earning potential.
His bosses regularly threw him under the bus, whenever there was a problem or delay. He worked 7 days a week and close to 20 hours a day. When he was "off" he couldn't sleep or rest because of worry and dread on what the next day would bring. In essence Damien was working himself to an early grave.
Today was just another day, nothing special and nothing to look forward to. Then he got a notification of a new email. Seeing the short
title, Island Lord Survival, he thought it was a prank or scam but was also very bored that he opened it to have something to do.
Congratulations Island Lord on participating in our survival program. Please complete the following questions and send us your answers.Â
1 - Name? Damien Atlas, an obvious answer.
2- Goals? To start a new challenge and have an adventure.
3- I want . . ? A companions and/or friends to share in this new challenge and maybe a girlfriend.
4- Melee, ranged, mage or non-combatant? Melee, as Damien imagined a warrior with a
sword in one hand and a shield in the other battling a monster.
5- What personal perk do you want? A list of different perks was displayed including, fast learner, tuff skin, analytical mind, lock pick etc. After browsing for a bit he choose, weightless a perk that negates the weight of items being carried either in hand or in a pack, perfect for gathering and scavenging.
With that he was finished with the question and sent the email off the whoever or whatever had emailed him in the first place.
Not ever a second later a reply was shown in his email folder. Which should have alerted him of there being something wrong but he was bored and wanted to seem busy and openwd the email that showed the following.
Congratulations Lord Damien you are the 1st to respond to our message and complete the questions and you will receive a 1st completion prize when you arrive on the island. Thank you for participating in the Island Lord Survival program, good luck and God's speed.
After reading the email he suddenly felt extremely tired and decided to take a short power nap, he was out like a light before his head hit the desk . . . . .
"Damien wake up . . ."
"Damien . . ."
"Damien . . ."
"D wake up this isn't the time or place for a nap." A gruff but oddly familiar voice pulled Damien from his sleep. After opening his
eyes to a tropical beach and coconut trees as far as he could see, he jolted up and swore.
"What the f%$@ is going on I swear I was just at my desk." Damien said aloud, frantically looking around when a voice spoke into his mind.
"I can give you an explanation to that, but first you need to calm down and take a breath . . . , again . . . ,now I'm Samson or Sam for short and I am your A.I. assistant/companion. You are currently on you Island as you are the lord and leader of. We need to complete your status and register this Island and I'll explain things as we do that."
Damien was confused for a second before remembering the e-mail and being familiar with manga and gaming culture he knew a major event had pulled him into their game or whatever, with that Damien sat up straight to
do as asked of him. The first thing he saw was under age it said 18 years of age.
"Okay an explanation, you are a survivor participating in the Island Lord Survival program, you have been assigned this Island to rule and care for, to develop a Island country and defend it as needed. The A.I. system that is charge and brought you here needs you at your peak and so you have been deaged to 18 with a perfect physic. From time to time you will need to participate in tasks, quests and challenges issued by the A.I. system that oversees this planet. The 1st task you have been give is the register this Island and complete your status update." Sam spoke calmly but quickly."Just think or speak out lous 'Status'."
A blue screen the size of a tablet popped up in front of Damien's eyes with a list of need info.
1- Island name? Atlas Island, again basic Damien thought.
2- Alignment?"Light, dark or neutral, meaning you Island is allied to the good guys aka light, the bad guys aka dark or the middle man aka neutral." Sam explained.
"Neutral." Damien choose.
3- Initial size? 100 square miles. Big enough to grow but not too big as to not be able to
control and defend.
4 Choose 3 Initial resources? And a list was provided, after skimming through Damien
choose, a fresh water resource, a mine resource and a forest resource. Fresh
water, metal and gems to trade and grow and the forest will provide a lot of different resources.
5 Create a Guild or join a guild? Create a guild, Weight of the World, as homage to the titan Atlas who carries the world on his shoulders and who his family is named for.

The screen then changed to show Damien's status and a question about using his stat and skill pts. Sam added what each stat meant in the real world and it effects.
HP or health points represent your life and health status, the lower it is the closer you are to death. AP or action points are needed to preform skills, sprint and any other physical actions. Last of the major stats
is MP or mana points, these are needed to cast spells, enchant items and anything related to magic need mana.
 STR or strength affected the amount of AP you have, the amount of lbs. you can carry and the amount if melee damage you can do. PER or perception affects your accuracy or aim, your line of sight, the distance you can comfortably see without aid and the
ability to analyze/ID an item. END or endurance affects your HP, the amount of
your defense and your regeneration rate or the speed of which you heal. CHA or
charisma or your people skills affecting the price you can buy and sell items, your
ability to persuade others to do as you ask or order and the size of your settlement. INT or intelligent affects your MP, the amount of your Magical attack and defense and the amount of skills you are able to learn. AGI or
agility affects you walking, jogging and running speed, your ability to sneak
and ambush others and the speed of your attacks. LUC or luck affects the XP you
earn, the amount and type of loot dropped and the chance of a critical hit, which causes extra damage.
After looking over his stats he choose to not use his points for now as later there could be a need for them, and pressed the complete
button.
Ding . . . Congratulations you are the first lord to complete your status and registry, receiving 20 XP and S pts., 2 T1 treasure
chests, 2 beginners boxes, 2 tamers boxes, 2 S. gear boxes and the passive skills, Leadership and Mental Fortitude.
Ding . . . As 1st to respond to our message, receiving 10 E and S pts., 2 T1 treasure chests, 2 F and W boxes, 2 U stone boxes, 2 R stones and Title: Island Manager.

Damien and Sam were both shocked looking at all the loot in front of him. Then Sam commented.
"That Blessing of Fortuna is a major game changer with all the affects it has, and you got a title too. Open the beginners boxes
first, inside is T1 gear and weapons and a pack." Sam suggested.
Opening beginners box:
1 - 9 ass. Armor orbs
2 - 5 ass. Weapon items orbs
3 - 6 ass. Pack items orbs
4 - 10 ass. One-time use spell scrolls
5 - 10 Upgrading Stones

Instead of being shocked Damien just went in and grabbed the first gear orb, which turned into a T1 cloth headband, then the subsequent orbs turned into T1 cloth vest, shorts, sandals, hooded cape, arm wraps, fingerless gloves, a rope belt and a AGI necklace. Next was the weapon orbs, he received a T1 Kite shield on his left hand, for his right hand he received a T1 iron bastard sword and a T1 iron short sword as back up. The other orbs were left for now. He then opened 2 pack orbs which gave a T1 rucksack pack with 20 storage spaces and a belt pouch with 10 storage spaces. Damien skipped the spells and asked about the u. stones.

"You've discovered the Task List for this week and completed a Minor Task. To see what some of the other tasks are look in your Tasks tab in your status, for now lets work on exploring 15%of the island for one of todays
daily task." Sam said after the notification. "And to answer your earlier question a Upgrading stone is used to upgrade and item to the next tier, the higher the tier the more stones needed. But for now lets open a food and water box so we have those as we explore today."
Opening a food and water box:
1 - 10 12 Oz bottled water
2 - 8 cup of noodles, shrimp flavor
3 - 6 12 Oz ass. flavors drinks
4 - 8 12 Oz bag of beef jerky, teriyaki flavor
5 - 5 Fuji pears

Damien put the whole lot into his rucksack, before moving on to the survival gear box.

Feeling good about the stuff he had gotten, Damien decided to leave the rest for now and explore his island. Damien thought about his level and if he should level-up before he encounters any monsters or unknown situations. That was also when Sam saw the amount of need XP and made a comment about it not being the normal amount.

"I told you that Blessing of Fortuna is majorly OP, and now you have another Unique Skill. As for your level and accumulating XP for the first 7 days monsters and other enemy that do show up will be equal to your level. So I recommend that you just let your Exp. accumulate. I do recommend you use your Unique Skill on your sword to give to a
boost." Sam told Damien as they got ready to set off.
Activating U skill, Flip for it, choosing iron short sword, quality and heads . . . And won receiving a T2 Steel short sword with silver
cross guard, black leather handle and rounded coin shaped pummel.
Ding . . . Congratulations on completing a Major Task from this weeks task list, Upgrading an item, receiving 200 XP and S pts., 4 T1 Treasure chests, 2 RPMS boxes and 2 Mana Stone boxes.

Then Damien used his newly acquired Unique Skill: Wheel of Fortune.
Activating U Skill, Wheel of Fortune. A prize wheel showed up before his eyes, spinning for a few second and slowed down to point at a winged beast.

Sam used his scan perk almost on a constant basis to map, watch for any enemy and find items. He directed Damien to follow the beach heading south.
