Chapter 3 - Episode 3

"Let's go Eleanor" I say to my sister. "I don't want anymore unnecessary things in my life."

When we finally reached the ice-cream place, my sister couldn't stop swooning over the options.

"I want this one, no, that one's better!"

'How annoying', I thought. 'What did I do to deserve this little brat?'

In the end, I settled for a Black Sesame, while Eleanor got the Honey Lavender with sprinkles ( I'm not a sprinkles fan )

While we sat down and inhaled our delicious, cold treat, I heard a voice in the distance.

"Mariella!"

I turn around to see my bestie running towards me with a small child beside her.

I'm pretty sure she's babysitting again.

"Oh hey Serena! How's it going?"

"I'm sooooo tired right now. All this babysitting makes me wanna puke."

"Do you want an ice cream to help calm you  two down? My treat!"

"What would I do without Mariella"

We enjoyed our ice-cream together, and I guess that really cheered me up after what happened earlier today.

We even walked a little around that side of town to catch up on the tea ( if we had any )

It was already close to evening by the time we realized we went to the bad side of town instead.

Then a cute little shop caught my eye..

"Serena, look at this place. Isn't it adorable? Wait there, I wanna take a few pictu-"

Thunder interrupted my sentence. And in a fraction of a second, rain began pouring down on us. 'I guess this was the storm they were warning us about, huh?'

I motioned to Serena to take the kids to a safe and dry place, while I searched for someplace myself.

I looked both sides frantically as I spotted a dark alleyway. I sprinted towards the alleyway and reached there just in time for the rains to completely soak my clothes.

I pant continuously as I desperately try to catch my breath.

"Hey"

I stopped.

Who is that, and why does that voice sound familiar?

"Mariella, right?"

I turn to see Matteo, staring at me just like before. My heart begins pounding in my chest. What do I do?

I look at the pouring rain. There's no way I would go out there just for the sake of not being next to this human being.

I turn around. I watch him in the eye for a hot second until I realize what I'm doing.

Without warning, he walks around 3 feet in front of him, just enough to back me up against the wall....
