Chapter 11 - 11

### Chapter 11: The Shocking Truth

The interior of Jonas's cabin was dark and filled with memories of a forgotten past. The old man sat in a worn-out armchair, while Ciroko remained standing, attentive to every word that came next.

—Sheriff, what I'm about to tell you may seem crazy—Jonas began, his voice hoarse and trembling. — But it's the purest truth. I'm Frothy's grandfather.

Ciroko frowned in surprise. Jonas continued:

— Like Frothy, I also suffered from blackouts. These episodes are a curse that has plagued our family for generations. It is not something we can control or cure. It comes from time immemorial, from a time when our lineage was marked forever.

Jonas paused, taking a deep breath before continuing.

— During my blackouts, I became another person. I killed many criminals, both men and women. I lost count of how many there were. And, during these blackouts, I had an imaginary friend, a figure who guided me, who encouraged me. It was a reflection of my childhood traumas, of the violence I suffered and witnessed.

Sheriff Ciroko felt a shiver run down his spine. He moved closer, trying to comprehend the depth of what was being revealed.

— And do you believe the same is happening to Frothy? — asked Ciroko.

— Yes, and not just with him. This curse will pass on to others, even after Frothy is gone. It will continue to manifest itself in our lineage, generation after generation. No matter what we do, the blackouts and crimes will continue. It is something beyond human understanding, beyond our reality.

Jonas looked directly into the sheriff's eyes, his expression was one of resignation and despair.

"Sheriff, you can't stop this. There's nothing you can do. This cycle of violence is never-ending, a shadow that falls over our families and those who cross our path.

Ciroko felt the weight of those words. The feeling of helplessness was overwhelming. He always believed that justice could prevail, that there was a rational solution to every problem. But now, he faced a truth that defied all his understanding.

—So what should I do? — asked Ciroko, his voice full of frustration and despair.

Jonas sighed, his eyes revealing the pain of decades of struggle.

— Protect the innocent as best you can. But know that this curse cannot be eradicated. Maybe, just maybe, understanding its origins can give us some hope. But until then, we must live with this shadow.

The sheriff nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. He left the cabin, his mind racing with the shocking revelation. The night was cold and silent, as if nature itself was reflecting the darkness that now enveloped his heart.

### End of Chapter 11

The truth revealed by Jonas shed new light on the crimes and blackouts that haunted the city. Sheriff Ciroko now faced a dilemma that transcended law and order, a challenge that could not be resolved with guns or prisons. The fight against this ancient curse was just beginning, and the path ahead was uncertain and fraught with danger.
