Xiang Yu stepped out of the elevator into the apartment was rubbing his aching lower back. He had taken a little detour to the local store, picking up a few treats for Lian and Mei. The twins had already returned from school and he had missed pick up time despite promising them that he would pick them up. This was why he bought them little trickets they would like to make up for it.
As the elevator doors opened he was met with the sight of Lian and Mei sprawled comfortably on the couch, their eyes glued to the television looking all comfortable. They seemed to he watching cartoons. The programme was unfamiliar to him but whatever it was it had them so hooked they didn't even notice his arrival.
"I am back," he announced as he changed his shoes. He walked over and placed the shopping bags on the coffee table with a gentle thud. The twins' heads snapped towards him, eyes lighting up at the sight of the bags.
