The entire village had spent hours searching for the missing member of the group they had defeated. They couldn't shake off the fear of what might happen if someone had truly escaped. If it was true, they might bring more companions, which would turn into a bigger problem.
They searched for hours but couldn't find even the slightest trace. Eventually, a thought occurred to the Chief—what if the watchman had just miscounted? Maybe no one actually escaped.
The Chief decided to gather everyone again to share what he thought. From an open space in the middle of the village, he stood on a table that served as a small stage in front of the villagers.
"I think we just miscounted," the Chief began. "Don't worry anymore! We should celebrate the victory we've achieved."
The villagers exchanged glances. When they heard the Chief's announcement, a wave of relief washed over them. They nodded in agreement, feeling reassured.
