Chapter 1 - I am free !!

In the Douluo continent, there exist four empires: the Tianhun Empire, the Duoling Empire, the xingluo Empire, and the Riyue Empire.

(On the border of the xingluo Empire, covering the Great Ming Duo Forest, there was a commotion of soul beasts that could be heard even from afar.)

The soldiers stationed on the border against the invasion of the Riyue Empire began to freeze, their bodies shuddering uncontrollably, fingers inside their mouths, as they heard the commotion in the forest. Each soldier began to panic and started running in a disorganized manner, stumbling over each other.

"Is there going to be a beast tide?" shouted one soldier, to which others replied, "We only had a beast tide three years ago; 400 died and 1300 soldiers ended up vegetative for the rest of their lives."

"I don't wanna die" screamed many soldiers.

Whereas inside the forest suddenly the commotion in the forest began to diminish.

"false alarm!!!" Every soldiers sighed a breath of relief. The commander who were also running for their life began commanding at the soldiers to gather around the training ground.

After gathering up, the commander began to call out all the soldiers for being timid and cowardly. While the soldiers at the back began mocking him for being the first one to run away.

"Who was that!!" the commander shouted.

The soldier's began to bite their tongue in order to stop their laugh from coming out while their eyes were tearing.

The commander shouted "whoever's laughing will all be having spar training with me for the next 2 months." The training ground was pin drop silence the next moment.

"In the forest, however, something magical seemed to be happening. Inside the dense forest, packed with ferocious soul beasts and plants, there was a giant cocoon beneath a massive willow tree.

The cocoon was a meter in length and seemed to glow with a blinding gold light. It began to move, as if something inside was about to emerge. Suddenly, a small hand popped out from within. It was clear to anyone observing that the hand belonged to either a child or a dwarf."

Unsurprisingly, an unclothed child made it out of the cocoon. The child instanteously began shining a grayish light all around it's body mid-air. After some time it slowly stood in both feet. Correspondingly it's green jade like eyes also began to illuminate greenish gray rays. Shortly after, the greenish gray light began reverting back to the greenish jade eyes

An extremely rare mutation appeared in the kid's martial soul as anyone can awaken a martial soul when they turn 6 in the Douluo continent. Outside of the two main categories of martial souls, there was an extremely tiny subcategory that were known as 'Body Souls'.

The martial soul that they awakened would be a part of their body, such as an arm, or a leg.The kid seemed to possess the rare body souls 'Spirit Eyes'. This child had a small frame and appeared to be a metre tall had an elephant dangling, so anyone could guess it was a boy.

The boy had a clear pale white skin and pitch black hair. His eyes, though not yet fully matured, already exhibited a glint of curiosity and determination. His hair, typically unruly, adds to his boyish charm. Despite his appearance, there is a sense of latent potential and intelligence in his demeanor.

The boy starts to stretch his body from side to side, up and down, and begins jogging with bare feet towards a waterfall, which could be heard from afar.

"If there were no ripple caused by the waterfall, one would think it was the sky," claims the kid.

The kid begins washing himself up and soon after, he began sneezing with snot all over his hands. The child's forehead between two brows begins to glow there appears something like a deep and mesmerizing, possessing a profound jade-green color that seems to shimmer with hints of gold.

The child closes his eyes and a small knife appears out of thin air. The kids begins looking around searching for something.

As soon as he spotted large, sturdy leaves nearby. With careful cuts from his small knife, he harvested several of these leaves, choosing the largest and strongest ones he could find.

Using his small hands and determined focus, the kid began to weave the leaves together, folding and overlapping them to create a makeshift cloak. He used thin, vine-like tendrils from a nearby bush to tie the edges together, ensuring the garment stayed snug around his shoulders.

As he finished, the child stood back to admire his work.

The leaf cloak hung loosely around him, providing warmth and protection from the chilly environment. The boy starts to talk to himself while he begins to explore the forest.

After walking for around an hour or so, the child's tummy begins to grumble.

The kid starts talking to himself again, "I wonder if I can find any food in this godforsaken forest? Probably not, hahaha... I am starving, hadn't had any food at all my whole life," a single tear appears in his eye.

Suddenly, the boy's eye began to slow down his perception, and he begins to sense as though something was watching him.

A slightly strange feeling appeared in his mind as he advanced forward. He then felt a slight stabbing pain in his eyes, causing him to unconsciously move soulforce to his Spirit Eyes.

Before he could even react, something fast flew past him. "What was that?!" he exclaimed in a startled tone. It was super fast.

Suddenly, the boy exclaimed, "Ah!" and shut his eyes, After taking a deep breath, his eyes immediately lit up.

(All of the minute details in the environment were magnified within his eyes as some patterns seemed to appear on his forehead as well as below his eyes, and his greenish jade eyes had a certain greenish gray glow to them.)

The boy began to grin from ear to ear and shouted out loud, "I can see it! What a lucky day! Can you believe it?"

In the Douluo Continent, various types and species of soul beasts inhabited diverse environments such as oceans and forests. Among them, the rarest were Emperor Beasts, soul beasts that brought prosperity and possessed unlimited potential. Emperor Beasts are unique entities, born only once in an era.

"Look, it's an Emperor Soul Beast, and a spiritual one at that! Right on time!" exclaimed the kid in excitement.

(Spiritual type soul beasts possess extraordinary spiritual energy or abilities, often including telepathy, spiritual sensing, or the manipulation of spiritual energy for various purposes.)

A dark spider skittered across the towering trees in the forest, its legs spanning several meters. Multiple eyes gleamed with otherworldly luminescence. Thick, silken strands trailed from its spinnerets, weaving a complex web that ensnared nightmares of opponents rather than mere beasts.

Moving with a grace defying its size, it was a phantom spider, a soul beast species specializing in spiritual soul abilities. Judging from its size, it appeared to be around 30,000 years old.

"Let's not scare it away and subdue it as soon as possible. Such a pitiful destiny, even though you are an Emperor Beast. Well, let's not talk about destiny. In front of me, all destinies are worthless," the boy mocked the Emperor Beast.

The spiritual beast, as if understanding the peep-squeak's words, became enraged, emitting a low, rumbling hiss, its mandibles twitching.

Grinning nervously, the Peep-squeak tried to appear brave. "You think you're scary, huh? Bet you've never faced someone as small and nimble as me!" cautiously taking a step forward as the Spider raised its forelegs threateningly, ready to strike.

The kid dodged quickly to the side as the spider lunged, narrowly avoiding its massive legs. "Woah! Easy there, big guy!" he circled the spider, looking for an opening.

The phantom Spider lashed out with its legs, but the kid jumped and rolled out of harm's way, landing lightly on his feet.

Tauntingly, Peep-squeak shouted, "Come on, show me what you've got! You think you can trap me in your fancy webs? Think again!"

Dashing in, he slashed at the spider's legs with a small blade, managing to nick the tough exoskeleton. The Spider reeled back, screeching angrily, venom dripping from its fangs.

The boy grinned defiantly. "That's right, get mad! I'm not afraid of you!" He jumped up, aiming for the spider's vulnerable underside, but the spider flipped over, narrowly avoiding the attack.

Landing on its feet, it turned to face Peep-squeak with renewed aggression.

Breathing heavily, the child assessed the situation. "Alright, time to get serious," he focused, determination glinting in his eyes as his body began to glow with a grayish light.

(An imposing aura surrounded him, emanating from his entire body and radiating palpable soul energy and strength. Intricate patterns and markings appeared on his forehead and around his body, symbolizing the flow and concentration of soul energy within him.)

It turned out the kid had not one, but two martial souls, both of them being body spirits. His second martial soul was a spirit body. His stature became more imposing, muscles bulging with enhanced strength and vitality.

(Activating his spirit body heightened the child's senses to an exceptional level, sharpening his eyesight, hearing, and overall awareness, allowing him to perceive even the slightest movements and changes in his surroundings.)

This heightened sensory perception enabled him to anticipate attacks and react swiftly during combat.

Suddenly, the Spider lunged forward due to an unexpected change in Peep-squeak's body. The boy leaped onto its back, dodging its fangs and stabbing repeatedly at its sensitive joints.

Panting heavily, he stared up at the spider. "Well, well, well... look at you, eight legs and all. Quite the overgrown arachnid, aren't you?"

Yelling triumphantly, "Take that, you oversized arachnid!"

The Spider thrashed wildly, attempting to dislodge Peep-squeak, but the boy held on tenaciously, thanks to the transformation that enhanced his physical attributes, granting him superior speed, agility, and endurance.

As a last-ditch effort, the Emperor Beast released concentrated beams of spiritual energy towards the boy (Spiritual Energy Blasts).

A puzzling situation unfolded. Instead of the kid fainting from the Emperor Beast's last-ditch attack, the Phantom Beast finally succumbed, collapsing to the ground with a heavy thud, its legs twitching weakly.

Panting but victorious, the child exclaimed, "Phew, that was close! No giant spider, especially one with spiritual attributes, is going to scare me away. Haha... it was scary."

Soon, however, the boy succumbed to fatigue and starvation and passed out.

(A gentle yet wise voice entered the kid's mind.)

He opened his eyes and shouted in excitement, "Grandpa! I did it, Grandpa!"

(The surroundings transformed into a serene and vast ocean, revealing a powerful spiritual sea within a god's consciousness. Within this spiritual sea, one can perceive a boundless expanse that seems to stretch endlessly in all directions, symbolizing the limitless potential and power of spiritual existence. The sea is serene yet potent, radiating a palpable sense of divine presence and ancient wisdom.

The boundless expanse shimmered with blue waters, reflecting the purity and depth of spiritual power. It was a vast expanse of ethereal waters, shimmering with an otherworldly blue hue that reflects the purity and intensity of spiritual energy. It was a realm that transcends ordinary physical boundaries, existing as a domain of pure spiritual essence and consciousness.)

In this vast ocean, the spiritual avatar of a very old man appeared. His weathered face bore lines and wrinkles, each telling a story of a lifetime spent in contemplation and learning. Though aged, his eyes sparkled with quiet intelligence and depth, revealing a vast reservoir of accumulated wisdom.

The old man possessed a dignified presence, clad in a flowing, long green robe that gently brushed the sea as he walked. The aged fabric bore intricate patterns or symbols hinting at wisdom. His cane, adorned with carvings or runes, served not only as a walking aid but also as a symbol of authority and wisdom, gleaming faintly under the light, hinting at the care and reverence with which he had maintained it over the years.

He moved with a measured pace, each step deliberate and purposeful, embodying the wisdom and knowledge that defined his long and fulfilling life. It seemed as if the old man were a guardian of this spiritual sea. The old man gently tapped the boy's hair with his knuckle and began scolding him for being reckless. He then hugged the child tightly, showing genuine concern and admonishing him not to be reckless again in the future. The child willingly apologized and asked for forgiveness.

After a minute or so, the old man asked, "Feng Long, are you ready?"

The kid responded, "Yes, Shu Grandpa, I am ready."

The old man began to draw incomprehensible runes in thin air. These runes started to fly out of the spiritual sea and entered the emperor soul beast's spiritual sea.

After some time, the emperor beast entered the kid's spiritual sea and began to bow. "It will be an honor to be a soul ring of yours and help you achieve your future goals," it said. Feng Long nodded along with the old man.

Feng Long exited the spiritual sea and awakened from his exhaustion. Soon after, the emperor beast also awakened and willingly began the sacrifice transfer of spiritual energy.

The beast released the stored energy, which was then absorbed by the kid. Since the spiritual energy was compatible between them, there was no backlash. Feng Long's Spirit Eyes abilities began to enhance.

An external soul bone also appeared after the sacrifice. An emperor beast could produce a soul bone even without soul core formation, unlike other soul beasts which would rarely provide soul bone before forming a soul core.

(The chances of a Soul Beast dropping the Soul Bones are extremely rare. Soul bones are naturally more powerful the higher the cultivation of the soul beast, but there are some exceptions such as external soul bones which are extremely rare & extremely powerful)

Feng Long began to absorb the soul bone (Eight Spiders' Spiritual Legs). This external bone was a very rare type of soul bone that could grow along with soul masters' growth. The infusion of this external bone on his vertebra posed no hardship at all, as Feng Long possessed both spiritual power and body spirit.

Even though Feng Long was just a Soul Scholar, his strength was no less than that of a Soul Elder's. This soul bone had the ability named 'Mind Poison', which could poison the minds of enemies according to their spiritual strength; spiritual poison couldn't be treated by any sort of medicines. Depending on the soul master's strength, only heavenly treasures could cure the poison.

(However, Feng Long was not affected by this poison at all because his spiritual sea had a guardian.)

The emperor beast's cultivation was used up, and it reverted to an infant soon after Feng Long absorbed all the stored energy.

After some time, the soul ring began to stabilize, and soon the black-tinted soul ring transformed into a jade-green soul ring. Later on, the old man asked Feng Long to enter his spiritual sea.

As soon as Feng entered his spiritual sea, old man Shu began to strengthen the Emperor Phantom Spider soul ring to the limit of Feng Long's spiritual strength. The soul ring began to evolve, and its soul age began to increase.

(After acquiring his first soul ring, Feng immediately started to study his new soul ability.)

The soul ring had the ability named 'Soul Shock', which could attack the target's soul and render them disabled or even kill them according to their mental strength. If someone had higher mental fortitude or a stronger spiritual realm, this attack would be rendered useless. The shock would change along with the intensity with which Feng utilized his emotions. Luckily, Feng Long had very strong spiritual strength, which could rival that of spiritual ancestors.
