The grand library's interior was a marvel of design and function. Towering shelves filled with ancient tomes and glowing screens stretched out in every direction, a perfect blend of timeless wisdom and cutting-edge technology. The air was thick with the scent of old parchment, interwoven with a faint electronic hum, creating an atmosphere of reverence and curiosity.
As I wandered through the aisles, my eyes scanned the titles on the spines of the books. Many were incomprehensible, written in the strange script of this world. Others were more familiar, hinting at histories, sciences, and philosophies. Yet, I was searching for something specific—something that could bridge the gap between the world I knew and this new, enigmatic place. Each step echoed softly in the vast space, the silence only occasionally broken by the distant whisper of turning pages or the soft chime of a digital alert.
The lighting was dim, with beams of golden light streaming down from the high ceilings, casting an ethereal glow on the surroundings. Every corner seemed to hold a secret, every shadow a mystery waiting to be unveiled. It was a place where time felt suspended, where the past and future coexisted in a delicate balance.
After what felt like hours, I found myself in a secluded section of the library, tucked away from the more frequently visited areas. The shelves here were lined with dusty books, their bindings worn but sturdy. It was as if this part of the library had been forgotten by time, a hidden sanctuary of knowledge. One book, in particular, caught my eye. It was an old, leather-bound volume with a faded title, barely legible: "The Secrets of Mana Harvesting."
My heart raced as I carefully pulled the book from the shelf. The cover was embossed with intricate designs that seemed to shimmer with a faint glow. As I opened it, the letters began to fade and absorb into my mind, causing a sharp pang of pain. It felt as if someone had pried open my skull and was pouring knowledge directly into my brain. The sensation was overwhelming, a flood of information and insight that threatened to drown me.
I collapsed to the ground, a pained expression on my face. As I looked at my hand, I saw words floating in the air, shimmering like ethereal specters. I reached out to touch one, but it dissolved upon contact, leaving me with a strange sense of awe and wonder. The knowledge was now imprinted in my mind, fragments of ancient spells and techniques swirling in my consciousness.
After the pain subsided, it was replaced by a profound understanding of the ancient art of mana harvesting. I could feel the mana in the air, a subtle current of energy that I had never noticed before. The method of mana absorption in this world was different from anything I had been taught. It was as if a lock had been lifted, allowing mana to swirl at my fingertips. A small, golden fireball appeared at the tip of my finger, casting a dim light in the dark, ominous room. This was a clear sign that I could now manipulate mana in this world.
A small, glowing flame appeared in my left eye, illuminating my vision. It wasn't painful or uncomfortable. With this new sight, I could see a fiery plate hovering above me, filled with unknown letters. Some of the letters, however, I could understand and comprehend:
Aiden Leymore
Age: 10
Power: ?
Skill: ?
The rest of the text was a jumble of symbols and letters, like words that had yet to decipher. The system window displayed was rather odd. I reached out to touch the plate, but my hand merely passed through it, it felt like water whenever i touched it yet what i see clearly was fire that was a plate, it felt solid yet it felt water but it was also like mud, the feeling was very much weird.
After looking around the system like window for abit, there wasn't anything special to it expect for the words that wasn't comprehensive, yet the window was very much unexpected.
