Chapter 1 - THE MAN IN GREY

Cold, damp and dark as the rats wriggled through the darkness, The room was dimly lit but by a small window at the side which only a small rat could fit through. There a body lay still, cold, lifeless as it showed no signs of life and then suddenly a cough could be heard as the body shook vigorously and suddenly the eyes opened staring coldly into the abyss, it was a woman chained to the wall of the prison she was confined to, she adjusted herself and tried to kneel but hissed in pain instead as she looked at her bruised riddled body.

She sat quietly on floor with her legs stretched and her back rested on the wall she began to tend to her wounds and with each touch she closed her eyes in pain the chains rattled as she kept trying to sooth the pain on her ankles but she suddenly gave up knowing full well that there is nothing she could do to stop the bleeding.

She closed her eyes and looked up at the ceiling barely breathing, barely moving as she tried to remember the events that brought her into this dark cold room where she lay bleeding. Suddenly she jerked up from the ground scaring the rats and insects that took shelter on her cold body, still bleeding and still in pain but did not care because her body began to quake and rattle like an old man who couldn't walk perfectly because of old age.

She looked at the door that kept her locked up from the outside world, her ears twitching as she listened carefully in utmost silence, footsteps and voices soon could be heard at first faint but soon the voices became clearer and more stable then footsteps were heard like men matching of to battle and as they moved closer towards the door she moved back resting her body and her palm on the wall.

The door opened and for minute stopped breathing, Men wearing black suits numbering twenty began to enter one by one until they covered the dark room walls. The room was lit with a torch that shone brightly as they flashed it towards her face she used her hand to cover her face as thou the torch could blind her.

Then a man wearing a red suit stepped into the prison his face expressionless as he walked with his hand crossed in front of his abdomen. His eyes blank and emotionless and yet scary.

"My boss would like to speak to you" He said in a soft tone but she knew better than to mistake that as friendly gesture. She stood transfixed to the ground close to the wall where she had taken much comfort not knowing what to do next.

"Grab her" he ordered and two of the twenty men who had stepped into the prison began to drag her as she tried resisting one threw a huge punch that made her fall silent as the world around her felt dizzy and heavy, her legs couldn't carry her own body and so the two hefty men held arms side by side and began to drag her out of the prison like an animal with no will of its own.

Her legs scraped on the grounds as the opened wounds oozed blood and she felt sizzling pain burning through her legs but she could do nothing her body felt heavy and her head felt light and the world around her twirled in different circles.

The floors became softer, smoother as she opened her eyes while still being dragged, she watched the marble floors so clear like glass and so smooth as honey as began to wished she would be left here to moan in her misery. They soon reached a big wooden door made of timber and had a design close to that of a flower embroidery, once opened she was flunked in like a discarded rag her back hitting the floor with great force the door was shut behind her flowed by a loud bang.

Too weak to move and no will to fight, she gathered strength and stood up on her aching knees. She turned around to observe the room which she had been thrown into. It was massive, the doors where nearly as a big as pine trees and the marble floors as clear as glass. A large business desk was kept at the ending of the room and at its back a long seat and two little shrubs by its side.

The faux earth burned brightly illuminating the room and giving it a soft flush that made her feel calm. She moved closer to the hearth and then sat down and stretched her palms towards the flames as she breathed warmth.

She began to meditate on what brought her here, she searched her mind for answers but found none as her memories seemed blurry and insignificant.

The only thing she could recall was a memory of her running; it was night the moon hung over the sky radiating and giving of a dim light that wasn't noticeable. Her heart raced as she ran through the forest she ran as fast as her legs could carry her and then suddenly she felt a huge thud and fell to the floor and then she awoke in the cell that confined her for god knows how long.

"Enjoying yourself I suppose?" A male voice asked startling her making her to jump up onto her feet. She looked around and saw he wasn't alone the man in red suit was standing behind him standing like a statue his eyes still emotionless as they were when she met him in her cage.

"How did they get into the room" her mind wondered and searched but couldn't find any answers, she quickly tried to retreat but was blocked by the man in red suit her face hitting his broad chest. Her heart quickened causing panic to wash over her.

"Who are you?" she asked with an unsteady voice "what do you want from me" she asked again moving away from the guy wearing red her back hitting the man who had asked her a question earlier.

He wore a grey suit, he's hair brushed backwards with little strands of it dropping on his forehead, his eyes unlike the man in red was full of darkness and he gave of a menacing aura which she couldn't describe.

"You don't remember me" the man in grey asked sarcastically, he began to laugh as she turned around to look at the guy in red searching his eyes for answers but finding none as she was puzzled to why the man in grey was laughing. Suddenly the laughter stopped and she suddenly turned around to watch the man in grey.

He's face once overflowing with sarcasm suddenly turned blank. His veins popped around his forehead giving her the filling of dread and freight of which she had never felt before.

He began to come closer to her until his whole body towered in front of her. Her legs transfixed to the spot scared of running as she lowered her head looking at the floor to avoid his intense gaze.

"Look at me" he ordered as she lowly began to lift her head to face his gaze. His pupils resembled blood as he stared at her ferociously

"Well then lets jog your memory shall we" before she could understand what he meant his hands was on her forehead as she screamed for mercy almost instantly there was blood oozing from her nose her eyes turn pure white as images flashed through her head left her she fell to the floor and succumbed to the darkness.
