Yes, finally a new chapter, new quota. Nice...
After Claude seated, the teacher coughed and said these next words.
"All of you cadets have passed the entrance exam and are all hereby declared the students of this academy," he paused. "But, those who were on the top 50 are in this class, meaning the bunch of you are the best of the best this year."
Some mobs lit out and expression after hearing those words. The teacher, however, smirked at their response.
"Since all of you are the best of the best, why don't we evaluate that in the gymnasium?" He asked, as if pondering.
Some mobs shuddered in fear, whilst some began to murmur to another.
"All right, it's decided, go to the gymnasium in this instance!"
Some mobs fainted on the spot.
*Timeskip power!!!*
We're now here in the gymnasium, I don't know how I got here, but I think it's from the power of timeskip.
"First up, Claude Vs Eris," the teacher said whilst holding a paper.
Both of the characters went up the stage and prepared their fighting stance.
"This is a peculiar match up," my mob friend stated while adjusting her glasses to look more menacing.
"While Claude has an advantage in close quarter combat, Eris can particularly handle fire to which point she can engulf everything inside the arena. Claude will basically have to fight a cat and mouse chase," she stated while crossing his arms.
I'm glad I met you explaing mob-san.
The battle begins and as explainer here has predicted, the whole stage got immediately engulfed by Eris's flames.
Claude however ignores this permanent debuff and went straight for the kill.
Yeah, that's it. I'm not good at this. Besides, after Claude launches himself to her, everything went blur, I can't see shit.
"Amazing! Eris manage to dodge that initial attack and made her body do a 45° turn to the right to exemplify the power of her next attack!" My mob friend explained, seeing all of their attacks in precision.
I guess it's true that they see everything when the main characters are fighting.
"Oh! Claude went faster than earlier! He's now approximately around 400km/h speed! Breaking the floor with each step and colliding with Eris's magic defence!" She agaid said.
Oi oi what the heck? That's an amazing perception feat right there, what are your eyeballs Made out of?
"A-amazing! Eris manage to block Claude's ferocious attacks by igniting her hands with fire and using her hair as a shield. She's seems to be dancing with gracious steps, as if taking the lead on the dance floor while Claude is the one that follows her movements! The ring is igniting furiously with grace and elegance!!"
Bro stop now you're being cringe.
Anyways, to stop the useless commentary, I summed up the battle.
The main character won.
He didn't do anything special nor he landed any serious blows, but since he's a close combat specialist and Eris is more on map control and aoe damage, he won the battle of stamina.
Eris simply just got tired.
Honestly, Eris has the highest firepower among the students here, but her stamina and lack of close combat defence held her back.
Reminds me of those times where I duel Eris players and they just runs out of stamina bar lol.
[You got lucky fr]
[Skill issue]
[Nah I got you the whole time you just ran like a b*tch]
[Cry about it]
Such were the battle of comments, ahh~ so nostalgic.
Next up, Lloyd Vs some random.
Honestly, this is a mismatch, a one sided beatdown. So I won't bother with the commentary.
Let's go with the 3rd battle, Nicolas Hermes Vs Reinhardt.
"An interesting battle!" My mob friend shouted while I'm eating popcorn. "For some background, Nicolas is the 4th ranker and Reinhardt is the 6th ranker.
Nicolas's expertise is him being a jack of all trade type of guy. He will pull off anything just to win against his opponent, a schemer if you will. Another fun fact, he aced the written exams.
In contradictory, Reinhardt, a commoner, always value honour before anything. His fighting prowess could be considered even above 1st and 2nd rankers, but he fell off in the written test.
This is a battle of values and goals!" She explain, true to his role.
Both of the main cast prepared their stances and lounges towards eachother with blinding speeds.
Actually, I never thought that this would end in one swing.
"Winner, Reinhardt!" The teacher exclaimed.
Standing in the ring is Reinhardt with his sword pointed towards the neck of Nicolas who is now on the floor.
This never happened in the game.
Whilst it's true that Reinhardt did win in the game, it wasnt this fast.
Moreover, Reinhardt is more on tanking and taunt type of character rather than speed and quick win.
Is it possible that there's some troll build happening? Like when the tank uses assassin build and one shots people?
This is weird, very weird. Almost like an anomaly...
As if I could care less.
Their problem, not mine.
But since one of the main party deviated from my knowledge, I have to keep watch of them to make sure they're on the right path.
"Reinhardt is amazing!!" My explaining mob friend exclaimed. "He didn't do anything special, he just swung his sword so fast that Nicolas weren't able to react to it." She then added.
Yeah, that's the gist of it I guess.
After those 3 fights, the following ones are not that notable.
One of the heroines fought a mob and another major side character also fought a mob.
After some time, My friend and I got called.
"What a coincidence," I muttered.
"Not really," my friend stated, adjusting her eye glasses. "The patern that the teach gave us is the rank 1 fights rank 3, rank 2 fights rank 4, rank 5 fights rank 7, and so on and so forth. I'm rank 41 and you're rank 43, it's no coincidence, we just followed the patern."
Oh, yeah, now that I think about it, that made sense(not).
Anyways, we went inside the fighting ring and prepared our stances.
To prevent myself for getting attention, I used the most common weapon, the sword. I'm not particularly skilled in this area but it is what it is.
My mob friend also uses a sword coincidentally.
"Ready, fight!" The teach shouted.
We both rushed towards each other and performed a basic clash.
Technique to success 101, let your opponent shine so that people would ignore you.
Here, i made sure that this girl would defeat me in such a way that it would be natural.
I furiously attacked her again and again, perfectly gaining the upper hand, but in reality, I'm only chipping my sword.
In microscopic level, I'm chipping down my sword in the exact position while clashing with his sword.
I also made sure to hit different locations each time we clash.
In other words, this is my perfect defeat.
After 20 seconds of inner monologing, my sword broke in half and my mob friend aimed his sword towards my neck.
"With this, it's my victory," she said, adjusting her glasses(obviously)
"You're good," I replied with an embarrassed smile. Technique 101, make yourself humble to everyone's eyes.
She helped me back up and we went back outside the ring.
