Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 :Eva Spotted Mask boy

Eva spotted the mask boy walking briskly along the path that led away from the park. Summoning all her courage, she quickened her pace to catch up with him. Her heart pounded with each step as she reached out, gently tapping his shoulder.

He turned around, his eyes widening in surprise behind the mask. His expression softened when he saw it was her.

Eva, her voice slightly trembling but determined, spoke, "Please, wait. I need to talk to you."

The mask boy hesitated but then nodded, stepping off to the side where they could have a bit of privacy. The evening light cast a warm glow over them, adding a touch of magic to the moment.

Eva took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "I see you every day, and every day I want to know more about you. But I don't even know your name. Can we exchange numbers? Maybe... maybe get to know each other better?"

The mask boy's eyes flickered with something unreadable. He seemed conflicted, as if a part of him wanted to reach out but something held him back. He glanced around as if making sure they were alone, then looked back at her.

Eva continued, her voice softer now, "I know you prefer to keep to yourself. But I feel a connection. I can't explain it, but it's there. Please, just give me a chance to know you."

The mask boy sighed, running a hand through his light brown hair. He seemed to weigh her words carefully before speaking. "I wish things were different," he said, his voice low and filled with emotion. "But there's so much you don't know about me."

Eva stepped closer, her eyes searching his. "Then tell me. Let me in. I don't care about whatever it is you think will scare me away. I just want to know you."

For a moment, it seemed as though he might relent. His hand moved as if to reach out to her, but then he pulled back, shaking his head slightly. "Eva, it's not that simple. My life... it's complicated. And I don't want to drag you into it."

Eva felt a pang of frustration and sadness. She was so close, yet he was still slipping away. "But you don't have to go through it alone. We can face it together."

The mask boy looked at her with such intensity that she felt her breath catch. "You deserve someone who can be there for you without reservations, without secrets. And right now, I can't be that person."

Eva's eyes filled with tears, but she refused to let them fall. "If you leave now, I'll still be here. Waiting. Hoping. I just want to know you, to understand you."

He seemed to struggle with himself for a moment longer, then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper. He scribbled something on it and handed it to her. "This is my number. But please, be patient with me."

Eva took the paper, her fingers brushing against his. The contact sent a jolt through her, and she held his gaze, searching for any sign of hope. "Thank you. I will."

He looked at her one last time, his eyes filled with a mix of longing and regret. "I have to go now. But I'll be in touch. I promise."

With that, he turned and hurried away, disappearing into the growing darkness. Eva stood there, clutching the piece of paper to her chest, her heart a whirlwind of emotions. She didn't know where he lived, who he was, or what secrets he held. But she knew one thing: she would wait, and when he was ready, she would be there, ready to face whatever came their way.

As she walked back home, Eva felt a strange sense of peace. She had taken a step forward, and now it was up to him. She would hold on to the hope that one day, the mask would come off, and she would finally see the man who had captured her heart.

And her desire will indeed come true one day....
