Chapter 110 - Hero That No One Expect II

[Yolan: There are a lot of gangsters lately, and they're always messing with innocent people. How about we take care of them?]

I looked at IM. "Should we?"

"Heh, three versus everyone? Why not?" IM replied with a grin.

This is getting more interesting... I thought, a thrill of anticipation running through me.

I nodded in agreement and replied to Yolan.

[Me: @Yolan, sounds like a plan. Meet us at the park near the warehouse at midnight.]

As I put my phone away, a sense of excitement bubbled up inside me. It seemed our heroic escapades were just getting started.

IM got up and grabbed a piece of paper.

I looked at him. "What are you doing?"

"I'm drawing my costume. The one you gave me isn't quite what I wanted," he explained.

"Ah... alright. I should ask Yolan about her costume too..." I said, opening my phone again.

[Me: @Yolan, what kind of costume do you want for our little mission tonight?]

[Yolan: Hmm... something fierce and intimidating! Maybe something with spikes and chains? Oh, and definitely black. I love black.]

I chuckled at Yolan's enthusiasm. It seemed she was already embracing her inner superhero.

"Sounds like Yolan has a specific vision in mind," I said to IM, showing him her message.

He nodded, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "This is going to be fun."

Night fell, and IM and I rode our motorcycles to the warehouse. It was closed, of course, the workers had already gone home. We stopped in the parking garage and saw Yolan there, still in her everyday clothes.

"Hey, guys..." she waved.

We got off our bikes and walked towards her.

IM and I were already wearing our hero suits.

"Heh, cool suits. How about mine?" she asked, a hint of excitement in her voice.

I showed her the suit I had created. "Here, use this."

"...oh, and also add a gun holster on the thigh, please," she requested.

I nodded, looked at my hand, and a gun holster materialized.

"Thanks! I'll go change now."

Moments later, Yolan emerged from the shadows, her transformation complete. She was clad in a sleek black bodysuit, adorned with silver spikes and chains that gleamed menacingly in the moonlight. A pair of fingerless gloves covered her hands, and her boots were equipped with retractable blades. Her long hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, and her face was partially hidden by a black mask that covered her eyes, giving her a fierce, intimidating look.

"How do I look?" she asked, striking a pose.

IM whistled appreciatively. "Damn, Yolan, you look ready to kick some ass."

I nodded in agreement. "You definitely fit the 'fierce and intimidating' description."

Yolan grinned, her eyes glinting with excitement. "Let's go then! Where are these gangsters hiding out?"

IM opened his phone. "According to what I've found, there's an abandoned junkyard nearby where gangsters often hang out and stash their weapons..."

Click!

Both of us looked at Yolan, who was now holding a gun.

"Huh... you created that?" I asked, surprised.

Yolan nodded, "Yeah, for emergencies if I can't beat those gangsters with my bare hands."

Ting! IM's phone buzzed with a notification.

"Ah... those gangsters are live-streaming on InstingConnection..." he said, holding up his phone.

Yolan and I leaned closer to see the live stream.

The live stream showed a group of young men, their faces partially obscured by bandanas, riding their bikes with a large banner displaying their gang's icon.

"Look at them," IM said, disgust evident in his voice. "They think they're invincible."

"They won't be for long," Yolan added, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

I tapped my finger on the screen, zooming in on their location. "Alright, let's go teach these guys a lesson."

Yolan saw the location. "That's on the other side of the city, on Jalan Baru."

"The new roadthat was just built a month ago?" I asked.

Yolan nodded. "It's pretty quiet there, that's why the gangsters like it..."

IM closed his phone. "Let's go, we'll intercept them."

We rushed back to our motorcycles, the adrenaline pumping through our veins. Yolan took the lead, her familiarity with the area guiding us through the labyrinthine streets of the city. The roar of our engines echoed through the night as we raced towards Jalan Baru, the wind whipping at our faces.

Yolan's sleek black figure, adorned with spikes and chains, was a striking sight as she expertly maneuvered her motorcycle through the traffic. IM, shrouded in his shadowy robe, followed close behind, his eyes glowing with an eerie blue light. I brought up the rear, my black bodysuit and flowing cape providing a sense of anonymity and power.

Yolan skidded to a halt in the middle of the empty road, parking her bike. It was quiet, with only a few street lamps illuminating the area. There were no people in sight.

"Both of you, put your bikes in the middle of the road to block them," Yolan instructed.

We nodded and positioned our bikes as instructed, forming a barricade across the road.

On the side of the road, the gangsters were raising their swords and cheering raucously.

"Wohoooo!" one of them yelled.

The bikes revved in the quiet night, their noise amplified in the stillness.

A boy who was livestreaming taunted anyone watching.

"XC!? That's a lame gang! Come to Jalan Baru if you dare!" he challenged.

Just then, the bikes screeched to a halt.

"Ack! Why did you stop!?" the livestreamer slapped the biker's helmet.

"...There are three people blocking our way," the driver said nervously.

Every gangster stopped their bikes and saw three figures standing in the middle of the road, their motorcycles forming a barricade.

I, IM, and Yolan stood silently, waiting for their next move. The air crackled with tension as the gangsters exchanged nervous glances, their bravado momentarily forgotten.

"Get out of the way if you don't want to get hurt!" one of the gangsters yelled, revving his engine threateningly.

IM, who was standing in the middle, stepped forward calmly. "Let me go first," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Yolan and I nodded, trusting in his abilities.

One of the gangsters, wielding a massive two-meter katana, charged towards IM. Despite his bravado, the gangster was clearly scared, his steps hesitant as he approached. IM stood unflinching, his unwavering gaze seemingly piercing through the gangster's facade of bravery.

The gangster slowed to a nervous walk, then, with a desperate yell, swung the enormous katana.

Swung! The blade whistled through the air, but IM effortlessly dodged the clumsy attack.

"Come here!" the gangster yelled, his voice cracking with fear.

"No, you come here," IM taunted, his voice dripping with amusement.

IM's response was swift and unexpected. With a burst of speed, he vanished from sight, leaving only a faint ripple in the air. A collective gasp rose from the gangsters as they searched for their target.

Before they could react, IM reappeared behind the katana-wielding gangster, his voice echoing in the stunned silence.

"Did you miss me?"

The gangster whirled around, his eyes wide with terror. But IM was already in motion, his hand a blur as he struck the gangster's arm, sending the massive katana clattering to the ground.

Thud! The gangster stumbled backward, clutching his numb arm. IM followed up with a lightning-fast kick, sending the gangster sprawling onto the asphalt.

The other gangsters, witnessing their leader's swift defeat, hesitated. Fear crept into their eyes as they realized they were facing opponents far more powerful than they had anticipated.

"Who... who are you?" one of them stammered, his voice trembling.

IM stood over the fallen gangster, his shadowy robe billowing in the night breeze. "We are the ones who will put an end to your reign of terror," he declared, his voice amplified by the mask, echoing through the deserted street.
