Getting Vit back to the cars took longer than I would have liked. Especially since he passed out the second, we passed the boundary line. At first, I thought it was because he had been through some sort of torture.
But the longer that I walked with his limp body, the more I began to think that maybe it was some sort of magic or curse, or something else that may have been triggered from crossing said point.
As I continued to carry his giant limp body towards the small hidden clearing near the foot of the mountain where we had left the cars, I swore at how absolutely ungodly heavy he was, but I would not stop moving.
Dylan had asked me to do this for her and while Gage was angry and kept grumbling about a puppy in my head, I knew that he had given in the second that we had felt her touch and heard those soft words whispered to us.
