## **Tremors and Discovery**
The dawn had barely broken when I went out for a run. It was 5:00 a.m., and as every morning, my routine gave me a sense of purpose. As I ran, the cool air cleared my mind, and I thought about Harry Godmin, the man who had adopted me. I knew he would already be working at the nearby gas station, so I decided to stop by.
When I arrived, I saw Harry behind the counter. He greeted me with his typical warm smile. "Kamil! Just in time for a coffee. Want one?"
"Sure, black coffee, as always," I replied, watching how everything seemed so normal. The calm before the storm.
Harry laughed as he poured the coffee. "You know, you could try something different one day. How about a cappuccino with a bit of cinnamon? It's good to change once in a while."
"You know I'm not into changes, Harry," I said with a slight smile. "Routine gives me stability."
Harry leaned on the counter, looking at me with that friendly expression he always had. "You're right, kid. But remember, life sometimes gives you surprises. It's good to be prepared."
"I am," I assured him, though my tone was calm and serene, as always.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake. The shelves vibrated, and products fell to the floor. I felt my heart beating faster, not just from fear but from something else. A strange sensation ran through my body, like my blood had turned into electricity. I coughed, as if the air had become denser, harder to breathe.
"What the hell is this?" Harry asked, visibly worried.
"I don't know," I replied, trying to understand what was happening. "But it seems like something is altering reality."
### **The First Encounter with the Unknown**
When the tremor finally stopped, we started cleaning up the mess in the store. It was then that cracks appeared in the air, emitting dark flashes and an electrical hum. I stood frozen, watching the impossible unfold before my eyes.
"Look at that!" exclaimed Harry, pointing at the cracks from which dozens of demonic creatures were emerging. The demons were clumsy and seemed disoriented at first, as if Earth's energy did not fully sustain them. But despite their initial weakness, their dark armor and strange weapons were terrifying.
While we were dealing with the horror of what we were seeing, three customers came out of the bathroom. Two women and a man, with the carefree attitude of someone who doesn't understand the gravity of the situation.
"Is this some kind of show?" one of them asked, smiling as if they were in a game.
"Yeah, it must be a reality show!" added another, recklessly approaching the demons.
I watched in horror as the demons reacted violently to their provocation. Unable to understand our language due to the strange energy surrounding them, the demons attacked, ending their lives instantly. With each death, the invisible barrier that contained them vanished.
### **The Escape**
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Everything I knew, everything I believed in, was collapsing before my eyes. "This can't be real... it can't be."
Harry, much quicker to react than I was, grabbed my arm. "Kamil, we have to go! Now!"
As we ran to Harry's car, a demon blocked our path, brandishing its sword. Though my mind was clouded by shock, my body acted on instinct. Dodging the blade with a quick turn, I kicked it in the head, temporarily stunning it.
"Well done!" Harry exclaimed as we ran to the car.
We got in the car, and the sound of the engine starting was a momentary relief. As he drove, I noticed my hands were shaking. Harry looked at me. "Kamil, listen to me. Take a deep breath. Stay calm. We'll figure it out, okay?"
I nodded, though I could barely think. I took out my phone and called the police. "Please, we need immediate help. There are… there are demons… my friend is hurt!"
The operator on the other end sounded incredulous. "Demons? Is this a prank?"
"No, it's not a prank. Please, send someone!" I insisted, desperate for someone to believe me.
At that moment, an arrow pierced through the car, injuring Harry in the abdomen. A demon had caught up with us.
### **The Attack and the Crash**
Harry let out a cry of pain, and the car lost control, crashing into a light pole. The collision aggravated his wounds, and I felt panic taking over me.
"Harry, no! Hold on!" I yelled, trying to help him as best I could.
Harry looked at me with pain in his eyes, breathing heavily. "I… I don't have much time. You have to live… find help."
I stumbled out of the car. My legs weren't responding, and I fell to my knees on the road. I looked at Harry, still in the car, as another demon aimed at me. Just as it was about to shoot, Harry, with his last strength, got in the way of the arrow.
### **The Final Sacrifice**
The arrow pierced his body. With his last breath, Harry looked at me and said: "Kamil, you have to live."
He collapsed, lifeless, leaving behind a void that shattered me inside. I screamed his name, as tears fell and I cursed the heavens and the earth for his loss.
### **The Final Confrontation**
Finally, a police patrol arrived, alerted by my desperate call. I watched as they got out, with their weapons drawn, unaware of the nightmare they were facing. Despite their guns and bulletproof vests, they were not prepared for the demons that pounced on them.
"Police! Stop!" the officers shouted, but their orders were lost in the chaos. The bullets barely affected the demons, and within minutes, the officers were overwhelmed and killed.
I remained there, on my knees, watching in horror as even those who were supposed to protect us fell to the power of the demons. Despair enveloped me as the world I knew disintegrated before my eyes.
With tears in my eyes and a broken heart, I knew I had to live. Although I didn't understand how or why, I had to find a way to survive in this new and terrifying world.
