The sabotage drug coursed through Mira's veins, unraveling the fragile balance of her mind like a spiderweb caught in a hurricane,the medicine was a silent insidious demon twisting and distorting her thoughts until they became a jagged chaotic mess.
Xaden rushed to her side firmly wrapping his hands around her as he tried to calm her down but even his touch and voice were lost in the malestrom of her insanity.
At first, Xaden was trying very hard not to hold her so tight considering how soft and delicate her skin was but damn,she was becoming wilder and wilder.
" Hold her down Xaden" Doctor Greg from the entrance door shouted before he hurried around and ran back to his room.
Just then, Daniella and Shawn walked into the room, Shawn's eyes and mouth were wide as saucers as soon as he saw Mira who was at that time violently trying to get out of her husband's arms,while Daniella put on a confused face hiding a sinister smile.
The night was a symphony of madness,a chaotic dance of horror and confusion as Mira's screams echoed all through the Reign Mansion, pressing through the stillness of the dark.
As the drugs worked their way through Mira's system,her mind became a twisted wrapped reflection of it's former self.
" Leave me,leave me,go away " she screamed as she writhed and thrashed,her screams a banshee wail that rented the night into two.
Xaden's arms wrapped around her like iron bands, holding her firmly in his grip all the while still trying hard not to hurt her.
With watery eyes,he moved his lips to her neck. " Mira please" he begged,his voice a desperate plea that spoke so much about him breaking down soon,but his words were lost in her wildness.
Nanny Calista the elderly woman stood by the door in tears as she watched Mira's mental state spiral out of control like never before.
Just then, Doctor Greg rushed in holding up a syringe filled with liquid as he pumped it,making sure it was the right proportion.
" Hold her still " he warned
Xaden in a flash locked Mira's arms and Doctor Greg quickly rushed to administer the injection,he didn't even have the time to look for a vein as he just directly pierced it into her skin.
Mira's screams became even more louder as the painful needle pierced her skin,tears gathered in her eyes as she tried to wiggle herself away from Xaden's grip but his hold around her waist was firm, locking her down in the spot and leaving no room for escape.
As soon as the liquid was in her body, doctor Greg retreated the needle out of her skin before moving back,in a matter of seconds her voice had suddenly died down,her pupils had dilated and she now looked so frail and also seemed to be gasping for air. " Leave me,leave,leave... " she said in a small voice before she became limp and eventually passed out in her husband's arm.
"Lie her down" Doctor Greg ordered the moment he saw Mira had closed her eyes but Xaden didn't seem to hear him as he just stood there unmoving with trembling hands
" Xaden" Doctor Greg called out louder when he saw he was still unmoving but Xaden still stood there unmoving.
Shawn understanding fully well what Xaden was going through at that moment quickly moved towards him and tried to take Mira from him,after a few attempts, Xaden let go and Shawn carried her to the bed,her body still and peaceful but as soon as she was laid on the bed, Xaden's composure finally broke and he sank to the floor,his broad shoulders hunching with the weight of a grief unable to bear as a solitairy tear slid down his cheeks,a drop of saline that betrayed the anguish and frustration that consumed him,he just somehow had that fear of Mira's condition going back to square one.
Xaden's heart splintered,torn apart by a grief that had no name, as he closed his eyes in pain and frustration,the emptiness within him threatened to consume him,an endless abyss of pain and confusion.
He sniffed as he shot a look at a confused Doctor Greg who was also staring at Mira. " W-what happened " he murmured helplessly,his voice broken, vulnerable and fragile. " I, I thought she was getting better,you said so yourself so why did this happen"
Just like everyone else, Doctor Greg was also confused and at this point had no clues as to why Mira who show signs of her former intense madness stage just when they thought she was getting better.
He shook his head before he spoke out helplessly " Let her rest now, I'll call on my seniors tomorrow, we'll check her together" he said and without waiting for a reply,he turned around and left,his head jiggling with thoughts and possible reasons as to why something like that had happened.
Back in the room,Shawn looked around the disorganized enormous bedroom before his sad eyes went back to Xaden who was already soaking in his grief, just three hours back,he was told that she was getting better and now this or could it be that it was part of the healing process? but if it was,the doctor wouldn't be so confused too.
Shawn badly wanted to console his friend and try to cheer him up but sadly,he knew Xaden was not a fan of consolation and would rather be left alone in times like this otherwise in his grief,his temper could rise and he could do the unimaginable and vent his frustration out.
And so,with a gentle sigh, Shawn walked over to Xaden and gently patted him on the shoulder " Try and get some rest man, we'll talk tomorrow " he said and waited for a response but none came as Xaden just sat there staring into outer space with a n unfathomable expression.
