Uchiha Obito gloomily ate his breakfast.
He glanced at the always calm Kakashi and couldn't help but sigh.
A person's appearance and clothing can easily change, but their aura is difficult to alter.
After spending a lot of time with Haruki, Obito had come to understand the kind of boys girls liked.
Handsome, cool, excellent.
Kakashi embodied all three qualities.
No wonder he could never compare before.
And he still couldn't now.
Obito considered his strength to have significantly improved, but unfortunately, Kakashi had also grown stronger.
The result was that he still couldn't surpass him.
He could only pin his hopes on what Haruki-sensei had mentioned for tomorrow.
Kakashi had learned Niten Ichi-ryu, creating a considerable gap between them.
But Haruki-sensei surely wouldn't favor one over the other.
Obito dreamed of surpassing Kakashi tomorrow, hitting him, and waited in anticipation.
As usual, he followed Kakuzu for training, mainly focusing on taijutsu and fire release.
Obito was initially shocked the first time he saw Kakuzu's fire release, as its power and proficiency were no less than that of the Uchiha clan.
In the ninja world, the first thing that comes to mind when mentioning fire release is naturally the Uchiha.
But Kakuzu differed from Haruki.
Besides their appearance, Kakuzu would always form seals honestly, while Haruki preferred clapping his hands together.
Comparing the two teachers, Obito found he preferred Haruki.
Mostly because Kakuzu's personality was too cold, with his mask and murderous gaze, like a frosty goblin.
That night, after dinner, Obito had insomnia for the first time.
He was too excited about tomorrow.
Eventually, he fell asleep after a long time.
In the morning, he was awakened by a knock on the door.
"Is it Haruki-sensei?"
Obito quickly dressed and ran to open the door, seeing Kakashi.
"It's you?"
"Yes, it's me," Kakashi replied indifferently. "Time for morning training."
"Morning training? No, I need to find Haruki-sensei."
Obito shook his head, refusing. He wasn't stupid; why train when he couldn't win.
"Haruki-sensei has gone out and will be back later."
Kakashi chuckled softly, saying, "Are you afraid to spar with me?"
Obito instantly felt his anger flare.
Kakashi's indifferent and mocking attitude hit him right in his weak spot.
"Who says I'm afraid? Let's do it!"
Obito, his face flushed with anger, immediately formed seals with both hands and spat out a purple-red fire dragon that grew with the wind, transforming into a massive fireball.
Kakashi's twin swords unsheathed, creating two arc-shaped white sword lights that crossed in front of him.
The sharp sword lights split the fireball.
Obito awkwardly rolled on the ground, barely dodging.
"Is that all?"
Kakashi pointed his long sword at Obito's head, "After all this training, you still can't handle one of my moves?"
"Kakashi!"
Obito was furious.
Kakashi's unusually arrogant behavior today was completely out of character.
"Shouting won't help."
Kakashi tilted his head, smirking, "Maybe you should just go home and crossdress and dance."
Crossdress and dance.
Hearing these words, Obito's face contorted with rage, his eyes turning red.
"Damn it!"
His body emanated boiling chakra.
Kakashi quickly retreated.
The heat was overwhelming.
The entire courtyard was enveloped in fireballs.
Kakashi's expression grew serious as he instantly moved, his twin swords emitting a faint lightning glow. The left sword slashed through the fireball, but unlike before, it only created a narrow gap wide enough for one person to pass through.
But for him, it was enough.
Kakashi instantly appeared beside Obito.
His speed was unbelievable.
The long sword in his right hand swept down, an amazing arc enveloping Obito.
Normally, Obito wouldn't have time to react.
But Kakashi found that the person under his blade was a substitution.
He hesitated briefly, how could this be?
"Kakashi!"
Obito's voice came from behind him.
He turned abruptly, seeing a pair of blood-red eyes and numerous sparks flying.
The sparks attached to shuriken, forming a large phoenix flower.
Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Fire!
A B-rank jutsu.
Kakashi didn't have time to think about how Obito learned this or why he had so much chakra.
A sword light rose in front of him.
It was the first flash of the Iai technique.
The sword and shuriken clashed.
The sound echoed, with firelight everywhere.
Kakashi's expression changed slightly, quickly retreating to avoid the residual effects.
But the attack continued.
Obito, his expression cold, quickly formed seals, spitting out a thin fire line that soon expanded into a giant python, chasing after Kakashi.
Too fast!
Kakashi gritted his teeth, holding his long sword horizontally above his head.
With a splash, chakra enveloped the long sword, with faint water ripples.
His short sword swiftly cut through the narrow space.
For the first time, he realized the benefit of Haruki making him practice slicing fruit.
The fire dragon hit the long sword, creating a cloud of smoke.
The forward momentum stopped, and the short sword cut the fire dragon into several pieces.
Seeing this, Obito grew more frustrated.
The two tomoe in his eyes seemed to spin rapidly.
But Kakashi seized the opportunity and approached.
He noticed that Obito's chakra was higher than his, so competing in ninjutsu was pointless.
He had strong sword skills, so he had to get close.
"It's useless, I can see all your moves clearly!"
Obito sidestepped, dodging his sword style, holding a kunai, and engaging Kakashi in taijutsu.
"This is the Uchiha's pride, the Sharingan. You're every move is visible to me!"
Obito was obviously a bit conceited.
But as they fought, he realized he had spoken too soon.
He actually fought Kakashi to a draw.
Obito grew more agitated, but Kakashi took advantage of it.
The amazing arc of sword light, like moonlight, filled his vision.
"You're flustered, Obito."
Kakashi's long sword rested on Obito's neck.
This was the strongest Iai slash from Mifune.
"You had a chance to win."
"I know, you don't have to say it!"
Obito, frustrated, finally noticed Kakashi's unusual behavior.
"What's with you today? Here just to irritate me?"
"That was Haruki-sensei's idea."
Kakashi sheathed his swords, pointing to the suddenly appearing Haruki, "It has nothing to do with me."
"Hey, Kakashi, you were enjoying it too."
Haruki couldn't help but be stunned by this, was he being blamed?
"Are you two okay?"
Rin Nohara, worried, ran over.
"I'm fine," Obito nodded to Rin, showing a complex emotion towards Haruki's words.
Haruki cleared his throat, "Let's go, we should get going."
Unfortunately, he didn't get to use his second plan.
If Kakashi had failed, he would have used Rin.
But double tomoe was still good, at least reaching Chunin level.
