Chapter 100 - Chapter 100

August 2nd.

Akihabara.

Although it was summer, with the help of the Yamanaka clan, pink cherry blossoms slowly drifted down the street, creating a dreamy atmosphere.

Tsunade was taken away early in the morning by Mito Uzumaki.

Haruki watched his fiancée being taken away without getting a chance to say much.

Afterward, Hiashi Hyuga and Kasumi Hyuga arrived, bringing a set of black fitted kimonos.

"How do I look?" Haruki nervously asked, looking left and right in front of the mirror.

Kasumi couldn't help but smile. She didn't expect to see Haruki like this. After assessing him, she said, "It fits perfectly. I think no one will outshine you today."

Hiashi looked at her in surprise but said nothing.

Haruki nodded in satisfaction. The black kimono looked elegant and dashing on him, like a noble prince.

"Thank you both for making the special trip," Haruki said, turning to them.

He and Tsunade were unfamiliar with engagement ceremonies, but the Hyuga clan had a long tradition and understood them well. Hiashi had volunteered to officiate.

"It's our duty," Hiashi responded, bowing slightly. "Princess Tsunade is currently getting her makeup done. We can wait at the banquet."

The suggestion suited Haruki perfectly. He didn't want to stay in his room until the ceremony began.

The ceremony was held at the most central traditional pavilion in Akihabara. The courtyard was full of cherry blossoms.

By this time, it was crowded with people who greeted Haruki with blessings upon his arrival. He smiled and returned each greeting. By the time he reached the pavilion, his facial muscles were stiff from smiling, but he was happy.

"Over here!" Jiraiya waved to him.

Haruki saw Jiraiya and Orochimaru sitting together, with a fruit platter in front of them. Jiraiya was eating a banana, his left hand on Orochimaru's shoulder, who looked annoyed.

"You guys arrived early," Haruki said, sitting across from them and picking up a banana.

The high-ranking officials of Konoha, such as Hiruzen Sarutobi, had yet to arrive. They were considered the main guests, especially since Hiruzen and Mito Uzumaki were representing Haruki and Tsunade.

Because Haruki was an orphan and Tsunade, despite being from a prominent family, only had Mito Uzumaki as a close relative.

"At least our Sannin friendship is deep. Sigh, now that Tsunade is leaving us, we should come early," Jiraiya said, finishing his banana with a sigh.

"Think positive," Haruki patted his shoulder. "At least the wedding hasn't happened yet."

"…" Jiraiya glared at him. This guy's only flaw was his mouth.

"Orochimaru, what did you get me as a gift?" Haruki asked expectantly.

"What do you want?" Orochimaru countered.

"I knew it." Haruki shrugged. "Forget it. Just finish that thing I asked you to do."

"What thing?" Jiraiya immediately leaned in, displeased. "What are you two doing behind my back? Why don't you ever include me in the good stuff?"

"It's none of your business," Orochimaru said, pushing Jiraiya's head away.

"What do you mean it's none of my business?" Jiraiya protested, his eyes wide.

"It really isn't," Haruki said, shoving a pear into Jiraiya's mouth.

"Mm, mm… overboard!" Jiraiya said after finishing the pear.

Just then, a commotion was heard outside.

Haruki looked up and saw Hiruzen Sarutobi arriving, accompanied by a middle-aged man with a large fan on his back.

Such a unique attire could only belong to the Daimyo of the Land of Fire.

Haruki stood up to greet them. Despite the casual demeanor on normal days, this was a special occasion, and basic courtesy was required.

"This must be Haruki?" The Daimyo said with a smile, opening a paper fan. "A fine young man indeed."

"You flatter me," Haruki responded with a smile.

"Today is your engagement. Here's a small token of my appreciation," the Daimyo said, signaling for nine chests of gold and jewels to be brought in. It was a simple yet grand gesture.

Haruki accepted the gifts. The Daimyo was likely the wealthiest person in the ninja world. Little did he know that Haruki had plans involving him, or he wouldn't have been so generous.

After greeting the Daimyo, Haruki didn't return to his seat. He had no close relatives and couldn't expect Hiruzen Sarutobi to welcome guests, so he had to do it himself.

Guests were pleasantly surprised by his personal attention.

After the engagement, Haruki's status would be second only to the Hokage, on par with the clan leaders.

As time passed, the pavilion filled up. More people were outside, enjoying the festivities in Akihabara. Nearly half of Konoha had come to celebrate. If Akihabara were bigger, the crowd would have been even larger.

At noon, Tsunade finally arrived, led by Mito Uzumaki and flanked by Mikoto and Kushina.

Haruki noticed that the Mito Uzumaki before him was actually a clone. As the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, she couldn't appear in person.

Haruki watched Tsunade. She wore a pristine white kimono, a hat, her cheeks slightly flushed, with light makeup and glossy lips.

Seeing his stunned expression, Tsunade smiled and extended her hand.

Haruki quickly took it.

The officiant, Hiashi Hyuga, cleared his throat and said, "The engagement ceremony now begins."

Mito Uzumaki and Hiruzen Sarutobi took the center.

Mito picked up a speech card, paused, then put it down and looked at them.

"Tsunade is my and Hashirama's favorite granddaughter. I have no demands, only that she lives a carefree life."

"I promise you," Haruki said earnestly.

"That's good," Mito said, wiping her eyes and falling silent.

Haruki tightened his grip on Tsunade's hand, whispering, "It's okay, Grandmother is just happy."

Hiashi raised his hand, and gentle, cheerful music started playing, setting the perfect atmosphere.

Tsunade turned to Haruki, her smile blossoming.

She sweetly said, "Haruki, please accept all the moonlight and my love for you from now on."

Haruki took a deep breath, feeling his eyes welling up.

Tsunade had never seen him like this. She stood on tiptoe, kissed his lips, and softly said, "I love you."

Minato Namikaze led a whistle, clapping with admiration.

Applause filled the room.

After exchanging rings, the banquet began.

Haruki and Tsunade toasted Mito Uzumaki and Hiruzen Sarutobi, then the guests. The feast lasted until evening, with fresh dishes being served.

Haruki spent the afternoon drinking with Jiraiya, joined midway by Orochimaru. In the end, Jiraiya was out cold, while Haruki and Orochimaru quietly used chakra to dispel the alcohol.

At night, the fireworks prepared by Minato Yoshio finally lit up the sky.

Haruki and Tsunade strolled along the corridor, watching the brilliant stars overhead.

"Oh, so cheesy," Tsunade said, squinting, her face lit up with a smile.

"Do you like it?" Haruki asked.

"Yes."

"How much?"

"As much as my heart. As long as it keeps beating, my love will never fade."

"You're cheesy too."

"Learned it from you."

"The husband sings and the wife follows, not bad."
